Every season in the Adelaide Hills has it's own beauty. It's proximity to Adelaide and easy transport routes means you are often in the city faster than if you live in the suburbs. Likewise a lack of traffic and open roads give us easy access to the wine regions and southern beaches making it a great base to get around.
  • It was a truly unique experience, surrounded by cows, sheep and even a kangaroo. It felt we were miles from the hustle of the city, allowing us to really relax.

  • Absolutely loved staying here I could have moved here for life!

    Emily2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful, peaceful, private retreat a few minutes from Hahndorf Town. Loved every minute of our two night stay, only wishing we had booked longer. The breakfast hamper included in our stay was sufficient & delicious- the milk was udderly amazing, it had cream on top!!! We enjoyed using the beautiful bath on the balcony, respiting in the tranquility of this property. The resident cows were a welcome enjoyment, and the ability to feed them from a little bag of goodies left by the owner was thoughtful. The bedroom was comfortable, with lovely bedsheets, comfortable bed & pillows. The dressing gowns were a great inclusion & came in very handy for the midnight dashes to the loo! The little kitchen/lounge room was well equipped, however champagne glasses would have been great. All in all our stay here was fabulous, the little thoughtful inclusions were great & we would highly recommend to book in a few nights here.

    Jason2020-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • Had a great time at the TinyHome. Place is just like the pictures and very homely. The cows are also very friendly 🙂 Highly recommend booking a stay here .

    Chen2020-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • Could not recommend this place high enough, perfect quiet location close to Hahndorf and not too far from Adelaide cbd. The highlight was definitely feeding the cows in the morning!! Will definitely consider staying again if in the area.

Welcome to Koalaville, in Bridgewater: beautiful in all seasons Wake peacefully to birdsong amongst the trees overlooking the little valley. Open the triangle windows of your small but modern, bright, clean studio room and smell the fresh breeze. Sit outside in the sunshine on a picnic blanket & relax with a book. Talk to our chooks or catch sight of a friendly possum or koala. Explore the gorgeous hills, nearby wineries & Germantown, Hahndorf. Netflix, snuggly electric blankets, aircon.
Need a sweet little tree change amongst nature and wineries? |•The Area•| The Forest Apartment at Bridgewater- nestled between leafy Aldgate and the famous sparkly German town, Hahndorf, is a delight in all seasons: Cooler in summer with an afternoon cool gully breeze that entices you to throw open the windows... Cosy-warm, misty, green and fresh in winter, and bursting with sweetly scented flowers in spring; but the area truly shines in Autumn, with an incredible array of colours and floating leaves. A peaceful retreat, for those who need time away from it all, a rest and recharge, tranquility and a connection to nature, or a reconnection with a loved one. Or for those exhausted by life needing time away, take a long, deep sleep, or a day spent among the soft pillows and cushions with a good book or free unlimited Netflix. Light the little vanilla-scented candles, have a nice hot shower, make a cup of tea (or wine, or port from the intricate port sippers provided)..and rest. For the explorers, so much awaits to be discovered, whether it be a pop out for meal, or a day-trip adventure- scroll down to the bottom for ideas, and a whole folder more await you upon arrival to help plan your adventures. Want to visit wineries but not drive? I might be able to drive you around and know lots of magical places- message me with what you were thinking- great for a surprise or special occasion too. If you are new to air bnb, and sign up by clicking this link, it seems you will get $55 off your first trip if it’s not with us. www.airbnb.com.au/c/kharman5 |•Your Accommodation•| Your apartment- airy, modern and sparkly-clean, consists of a double bed with silky soft sheets and snuggly cushions and pillows; Tv with DVD player (and a selection of DVDS) and all-you-can-eat free Netflix for a quiet night in; and ensuite bathroom. The large picture windows let in plenty of natural light and the space is welcoming and relaxing. At night, the sparkling touch lamps, tea light candles and fairylights provide a warm, soft atmosphere. Cold night? New split system, plenty of soft, snuggly blankets provided, and of course, tea. More types than you could poke a teaspoon at- the way it should be. The apartment is on a different level to the main house, separate and not joined by any internal stairs or doors. Every effort is made to ensure your privacy and peace throughout your stay. We leave it to our guests to initiate meeting us if desired, but are on hand if you were to wish for anything further. Private and secure with key lock and independent check in, you will have your own separate entry down a set of garden stairs, with your own designated off street car park included. Although there isnt a 'kitchen' or kitchenette, you will find a toaster, kettle- electric teapot and selection of tea, coffee (just instant- apologies) and hot chocolate. There is also a microwave and small fridge. We have also provided a bbq with cooktop/stovetop gas burner for your exclusive use under shelter outside your room, with crockery, cutlery and cooking utensils provided. You are most welcome to eat in your apartment or take the little dining setting or picnic blanket outside for a garden picnic. As you will be on holidays, there is no need to take out your rubbish or make your bed on the day of checkout - more time to relax and enjoy your stay. A small selection of books, DVDS and games are available to borrow- just ask. We can organize self-cook BBQ breakfast ingredients or a wine and cheese platter for you with a little notice- please asks about our packages. A little minibar is in your room in case of lazy days where you would prefer to relax and have a bottle of wine or snack handy. -An extra special treat if you are staying at the apartment in spring- a small heart shaped meadow for picnics, with 50 daffodils and 600 freesias to sit amongst- you would be welcome to borrow our extra large picnic blanket and picnic set upon request -Although unsuitable for children (one adult and one child sharing the bed has been done often), we have had pairs of friends, singles and mother-daughter pairs stay. |•The Property•| Set on a quarter of an acre in a safe, hillsy and friendly neighborhood, most of the way down a quiet no-through road, Koalaville is perfect if a peaceful and relaxing getaway is what you are after- or a fun filled adventure of food, wine and cheese, as the best wineries are so close by, as is Hahndorf. Great for those who love to get in touch with nature and want to reconnect with each other. The best thing of all are our cute-as-a-button koalas, masquerading as fluffy toys, but making grunting sounds like bears, they sit adorably eating leaves- we recently had a mother, father and baby family living in the gum tree right outside your apartment window- at the moment there is one big one. There are possums-a plenty- Pete, Percy, Pixie and baby Pinkie use the trees as a possum playground, a delight to watch, and ever present. If you hear a little furry thump, it's just them having their night time adventures. Feel free to feed them, they love bread and fruit and are friendly. Fall asleep to frog chorus from the winter creek and pond, and wake peacefully to warbling magpies and singing galahs and sulphur crested cockatoos, the laughing kookaburra sounds echoing across the valley, and the satisfied soft clucking of our hens once they have laid an egg. Watch the pretty parrots and rosellas in the trees while enjoying a cup of tea- we ensure the bird feeder outside your window is topped up to entice the stunning array of birds- stay very still and enjoy a spectacular show. |•The Location•| An easy drive to the city (under half an hour), or take the 'pretty way' as we choose to go; up Greenhill Road or Magill Road, and meander down through the lush Adelaide hills for a gorgeous scenic drive- perhaps stopping along the way to pick up some fresh raspberries, 'lemonade', flowers or produce from children's stalls along the side of the roads. Ensure you drive down our favourite road, Aldgate Valley Road- we loved this road so much, that we approached several property owners to see if they would allow us to hold our wedding ceremony in their garden- we were incredibly lucky to be able to be married at a private property at 10 Aldgate Valley Road- our idea of heaven. Adelaide has gorgeous beaches- Glenelg is less than 40 minutes away, or drive down through the hills to the coast to Goolwa and along the coast through to Victor Harbor and jump on the horse drawn tram (and feed the friendly Clydesdales- they love carrots). For an incredible daytrip, head to Carrickalinga/ Normanville via Meadows- stunning, quiet beaches with dolphins around sunset. °*|•Special Occasion?•|*° Is your stay for a special occasion? Ask about making it extra special for you and surprising your loved one, or making your wedding night magical :) As of February 2018, we have created three different ‘Magic Packages’: -Arrival Surprise Treat -Twilight Magic ‘Secret Fairy’ and -Enchanted night in Or mix and match your own choices. We hope to have a proposal here someday- if you are considering this, let us help make it the most memorable and magical moment possible. |• Cost options•| As many of our guests are from Adelaide or road tripping from the eastern states, we can offer your stay for $30 off if you would like to bring your own towels and linen, if the room hasn’t already been made up. Go ahead and book, let us know at the time of booking, and we will return $30 to you. Want to stay awhile? We’d love to have you, and will give you 20% off when staying a week or longer, and 25% off if staying a month- maybe more for longer stays, give us a message for a chat. ☺️ |• Pets? •| As you can tell, we LOVE animals. One of us significantly more than the other, so I'm hoping my husband won't wade as deeply into my slabs of text as you have, and discover this update *grin*. Although we never allow pets into the apartment to keep the space clean and fresh, we do in our own home: Our cocker spaniel sleeps with her head on my pillow and snores in my ear. So if you have a pet and you can't find anywhere and you want to travel with her instead of putting her in a boarding kennel and she is a cocker spaniel, cavalier, springer, ferret, rabbit, sausage dog, kitten or similar, please let me know and I'll attempt some arm twisting for you. She might be able to sleep up in our bed in the main house too while you are on holiday. |•News•| Ask about our new packages for special occasions - would love to spoil you. -April- a gorgeous Sulphur Crested Cockatoo, who we have affectionately named ‘Bert the Bird’ has been visiting us lately twice a day, and is becoming more and more tame. We are talking to him lots and hoping he will start to talk back soon. The other day he brought along his gorgeous little baby, Bertie. She is very sooky, whines while she eats, and is quite uncoordinated, particularly with her balance and her landings. She is an absolute delight to watch from your window. - March- we have a new powerful split system installed for snuggly winters! - We now have Netflix setup and logged in for you, with chromecast, so that you can lie back, snuggle up and watch all your favourite on the room tv for a lovely weekend in. - We have now had a couple with a baby as well as a mother with a 9 year old boy stay successfully and enjoy their time here. Whilst there is only the one double bed, if you’d like to bring your little one with you, let us know in your message and we can see whether Koalaville might be able to work for you too :) Three baby magpies and two big magpies, just outside the apartment- the babies still have fluffy little bellies, aw. The warbling is amazing. Last night on our drive home, we went down Sturt Valley Road- so beautiful, and deserves a mention for a little drive. We have super fast NBN connected! No more slow internet- hooray! January : Mollie the Koala has had a tiny gorgeous baby- for a short video of she and her baby taken from the garden, the baby tugging at her furry ears, please send your number with spaces between each letter or in words, oh four oh etc, so it doesn't get blocked, and I'll send it to you- it's the cutest thing! Bird photos and descriptions can also be seen by clicking on the photos and scrolling through- the myriad of birds that come to feed at the bird feeder outside the room is delightful- including a few pink-and-grey galahs who, if you sit very still, will cheekily watch you with tilted head. January: Pixie the Possum had a gorgeous little baby, who clings onto her mother via four pawfuls of fur- so beautiful! A hair raising piggy back ride through the trees, and a joy to watch through the windows- we captured a photo of them and included it in the property photos for you to see. |•To do~Activities in the area•| A folder of ideas for exploring the area awaits you in your apartment- fun activities for the area include: -Pick your own strawberries at Beerenberg Farm and taste the incredible chutneys, jams and spreads on offer- they are just past Hahndorf and entry is only $4 including eating as many strawberries as you can manage! - Walk and explore- there are plenty of walking trails in Bridgewater and in and around the nearby tourist town of Hahndorf. Even walking through the roads of Aldgate is the most relaxing and beautiful experience. - Stirling, Aldgate and Crafers villages nearby have great cafes, shops and pubs. We highly recommend and love the Stirling Hotel- great atmosphere including live acoustic music often. - Bike riding- Adelaide hills is great for this, as it is part of the Tour Downunder circuit- we also have the beautiful Amy Gillett Bikeway, running along Woodside and Oakbank, past some lovely wineries and the Melba's Chocolate factory- bikes available on request- notice needed for this to ensure they are in perfect working order for you. -Visit the monthly Stirling Laneways markets Sundays in Stirling- "The award-winning Stirling Laneways is more than a market. • Absolutely perfect, we loved our stay here so much. Kylie was an amazing host, her attention to detail and her friendly happy spirit made for one of our most favorite stays of all time. Please indulge in the packages Kylie offers. We had both the evening platters and also the breakfast package and we were not disappointed. So much love and hard work was put into making our stay a magical experience, we will definitely come back here again. You won't regret it. The bed was comfy, the view was perfection and the cleaning standards were immaculate. We love KOALAVILLE!!!

  • Our stay at Koalaville was wonderful. Kylie put so much thought and love into her little sanctuary in Bridgewater. Upon entry there was a personalised welcome sign and lovely note on the mirror as well as some fairy mood lighting and music. Kylie has thought of everything and provided little extras in case of emergency. Little notes around the room for information/instructions was a special touch. The room was so romantic and cosy and styled well. We loved all the blankets and (especially the heated blanket) to stay toasty and warm. Bathroom was clean and tidy and shower pressure and heat were perfect. The view was beautiful and we had many bird visitors to watch come and go. Hoping to see some koalas but they must have been elsewhere when we stayed. You can really tell that Kylie prides herself on giving her guests that extra special experience. Highly recommend and we would love to visit again. Thanks Kylie :-)

Private Farmland very close to amenities and lovely small townships of the Adelaide Hills. Lots of great wineries to visit and beautiful countryside yet very close to the city.
  • Just a stunning farmstay. Beautifully styled, and providing glimpses into the 'good life' away from the hustle and bustle of city life - without all of the hassles! Our two small children loved the resident cows, chickens, trampoline and vegetable garden, whereas we feel in love with the scenery and the beautiful homestead. Scott was a fantastic host, ever accommodating to our needs. The property was also well located, very close to Bridgewater, Handorf and neighbouring wineries. Highly recommended.

  • This house as been put together with such attention to detail, no piece of furniture is out of place. Scott has thought of absolutely everything you might need. The beautiful open plan home let's in light from every direction. The friendly chickens were a unexpected touch that made the stay all the more enjoyable.

  • Hands down the best AirB&B experience we’ve had as a family. A beautifully restored bungalow in a setting to die for. The kids loved the space, Chickens and Cows and were especially excited to collect the fresh eggs each day. The space is a credit to Scott & Hannah, who have set it up perfectly, making use for the properties tranquil facing and surrounds and spotlessly clean!! I couldn’t recommend more highly if you are looking for a country getaway but still close to all the conveniences that suburbia has to offer. We will be back 😊👌

  • Thanks so much for the perfect stay. It was the perfect place to help me relax before the wedding day and also for Rowan and I to have some time away after our amazing wedding. Spending time with and so close to the cows and chickens was the best. Scott and Charlie were so flexible with our special needs and made our time so easy.

    Bethany2020-01-06T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay! Immersed in the hills. Great style and tucked away, really country getaway! Loved our time here

  • Just as the pictures show. Great location as well—perfect rustic pub with excellent food just 3min drive away which is perfect when you have a little one. Easy quick highway access yet still serene at the farm. Excellent communication from hosts.

The house is a solid stone Queen Anne Villa style home set in the popular Adelaide Hills less than 10 minutes from both Stirling and Hahndorf, and less than 30 minutes from the city of Adelaide. Come and stay for some peace and quiet, and to connect with nature. We have three friendly farm dogs, a snobby indoor cat, chooks and alpacas. The property has swimming pool, spa, sauna, full hard surface tennis court, and loads of space - both open and forest - to find your place of absolute zen.
Swimming pool, spa, sauna, tennis court, paddocks, forest stroll, living spaces, kitchen.
The local hotel, Bridgewater Inn, is relaxed with an incredible menu. Set beside a flowing creek. In the beginning of the warmer months the sounds of frogs and sight of ducks, and locals strolling on walking paths is so relaxing and dreamy. There is also the cute Bridgewater Greengrocer and Cafe, where you can get some nice organic produce and have a snack and tea/coffee(next door to Coles). Stirling is a beautiful little town with great cafes and shopping boutiques. The historic German inspired Hahndorf is just a few short minutes away. And nature reserves and walking trails surround the property. Of course, very nearby is Cleland National Park where you can hand feed kangaroos, and have your picture taken with a koala. Warrawong Sanctuary houses some protected Australian Native animals. Monarto Zoo is just up the freeway, where you can tour in a bus amongst giraffes, lions, and other wild animals.
  • A truly amazing stay! Natalie and Andrew have an amazing home in a beautiful location. It has everything. The property itself is secluded and private yet so close to the town of Bridgewater and only a quick dash into the hills or the city. The hosts are generous with their property and their time. We were lucky enough to meet the alpacas on arrival and were promised we could help feed in the morning. It truly was Aplacas in the Mist. It was great fun meeting and feeding the alpacas and a great part of the stay. We then enjoyed a leisurely walk around the property in the cool of the morning talking with the hosts. The view from the deck of the outdoor entertaining is brilliant as is the water in the sparkling clean pool. The lush green grounds and gardens add to the atmosphere. We asked for tips on a local restaurant and invited the hosts to join us for dinner. They happily joined us and we had a great meal and really enjoyed the conversation and their company. The house is massive and the rooms all climate controlled with some nice thoughtful touches. It was also great to enjoy a coffee and a chat before we departed. I can’t recommend their place enough. Overall another faultless Airbnb experience.

    Duncan2020-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • Wow. What a stunning property and two very kind and generous hosts who made us feel very welcome and at home. Natalie and Andrew happily showed us around the property, letting our kids feed the Alpacas and talking us for a bush walk. We were very comfortable using the indoor and outdoor space at our leisure and if we needed anything all we had to do was ask. A fantastic few days spent visiting the Adelaide hills and there is no doubt we will be back! -thanks again Natalie and Andrew.

  • Stunning house and property! The pool , spa, outdoor kitchen and dining area are great for relaxing all year round. The hosts were very welcoming and friendly and were very generous with opening their home. We loved the experience of hand feeding the alpacas and meeting the dogs and cat too.

  • What a fabulous stay! Very clean and lots of lovely little touches that makes it feel so homely. We were a couple that stayed 2 nights as had a wedding in Loebethal. Easily positioned a short drive from Handorf and much much cheaper. The unit is attached to the main house with your own seperate entrance and a balcony that overlooks the garden and property. It has a spacious lounge, dining area, kitchenette with everything you could need including milk, butter, bread, cereals, and plenty of snacks! The property itself is beautiful with a mini vineyard, lamas, cows, goats and 3 cute dogs. Sandra was an excellent host, responds very quickly, showed us round and left us to our own devices. Highly recommend this place if you want to feel like living like a local and enjoying a country escape. Location is also a short drive to Woodside, which has an IGA, pharmacy and a bunch of other shops and cafes. If you’re looking for one of the best breakfasts in Australia you must try Avalon of Woodside. Sensational food, lovely setting and excellent service. Thanks so much for having us Sandra!

  • A retreat from the hustle and bustle of busy lives, a friend and I escaped to the country for 2 nights and were enchanted with the peacefulness that surrounded us at Sandra's place. From every window we had views of the gardens, the paddocks, the friendly goats, the flowers, the birds - nature so close. Sandra has well stocked the kitchen for breakfast choices. We loved being at Castle Hill so much we chose to eat in both evenings, enjoying wine and a grazing platter we made up and having a Retreat from everyday life.

    Deborah2020-02-03T00:00:00Z

  • We booked Sal and Anth's place for a girls weekend. It was a beautiful home with fantastic amenities. The home was fresh and clean and we felt incredibly welcomed. We had shocking weather so didn't end up in the pool, even though it still looked very inviting. The location on the main street of hahndorf was so convenient and easy to find. We felt safe and comfortable in this beatiful home

    Rebecca2020-02-16T00:00:00Z

  • Thanks for an amazing stay for us, great place for group of friends to catch up. Amazing house and location

    Brooke2019-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • What a gorgeous property! I stayed with some girlfriends and we had such a lovely time. The house is huge, and is very stylishly decorated. The added touches of the nice bottle of wine in the fridge were very welcome and appreciated. The property is easy to find, walking distance of everything in gorgeous Hahndorf and the perfect spot to stay for the weekend or longer. Unfortunately it was too cold to swim in the beautiful pool but it did look very inviting! I would recommend to anyone, and would definitely stay again.

    Cate2019-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • The Hills is a beautiful 4 bedroom home - main bedroom has a large walk in closet (hanging space, but no shelves/drawers, so you will still need to use your suitcase), and an ensuite. There are 3 other bedrooms off the hallway at the back of the house - Bedroom 1 has a large bed, Bedroom 2 has 2 single beds and ample cupboard space, Bedroom 3 has a large bed, also with ample cupboard space. The rest of the house: As soon as you walk in the front door, to the left is a meeting room or a study I guess, and to the left of that, a formal living - not the most comfortable couch to sit on, but we didn't really use this room much. It did look nice though. The blankets/throws were very lovely though! To the right of the front door is the dining and kitchen and lounge - all open plan and spacious. A real lovely entertaining space. The couch is superbly comfortable, and the combustion fire/heater is lovely and toasty. The airconditioning was on when we arrived, and it took us a while to figure out why it was so cold, and then how to turn it off. The property does not have privacy fencing, which means the neighbours could potentially see into the rooms, but we never actually saw anyone. Lovely touches like jam and coffee pods, umbrellas, as well as sanitary pads were provided - thank you! Soft towels, and enough for each person. Oh, and there's also plenty of wine available in the house if you want to purchase - and good prices too. The outdoor space is fabulous, but we did not get to use it this time due to the weather. Lots of space for parking too if you have a few cars - we only had one, which made for an easy get in and out. The house is on the main road not far from the start of the action in Hahndorf. A fabulous location! While the price was a tad pricey, we recognise this is a very large property and due to the long weekend, I imagine in higher demand. Spacious and comfortable. A fabulous stay - thank you!

Our stunning open apartment/studio has been described as a treehouse or "outside inside house". It is made of recycled Australian hardwood, extensive wall to ceiling windows, and all modern furniture and utilities and beautiful garden.
This studio/apartment is a 'slice of heaven' and one half of a split level house with its' own separate entrance and patio. It is a Glenn Murcutt inspired wool shed jarrah pole framed house perched over Cox's Creek. It is made from hardwood, glass and corrugated iron. It has been described as an outside inside house as you are never sure where the house begins. It is at one with nature. It has its own entrance with beautiful elevated views of surrounding gardens, creek and lily pond. It is an 'escape for all seasons' in the very heart of Stirling. The creek that flows underneath can be heard gurgling below for 8-10 months of the year along with the frogs
Stirling is a beautiful leafy village close to Adelaide. It was originally the "Hills" retreat for the early English aristocracy and is one of the few places in the world where you are in a pristine micro- climate surrounded by nature (no fences) and only 20 minutes to the centre of the city. The village of Stirling has a wide cuisine range of well priced restaurants sourcing produce from nearby farms. You can also have the joy of supping on organic coffee or chilli hot chocolates at one of the many cafes that infuse the village. It is a visitors joy and one of Adelaide's best kept secrets that has been let out of the bag. Many people from' The Plains'come up to Stirling to enjoy The Organic Market, buy fresh produce and shop in some unique homeware/clothing and furniture shops or visit many of the splendid wineries. Every month Stirling houses an award winning local market. It has around 80 stalls, which make, bake, grow or value add to the products sold. If you enjoy being outside, the Adelaide Hills abounds with some of the best bike riding paths, walking trails and artists inspired landscapes . Hans Heysen's home "The Cedars" is a 10 minute drive. The Mount Lofty Botanical Gardens only a hop, skip and jump away. The Hills houses many boutique shopping and gallery experiences. We are within walking distance of the Coventry Library, Stirling pub, restaurants and shops.
  • Photos do not do the space justice - the views, the fresh air, kookaburras, ducks, frogs and the feeling of living in a garden paradise. Just perfect, and such friendly hosts who make you feel so comfortable during your stay.

  • My wife and I spent 3 nights here straight after our wedding and it was PERFECT. You cannot see any kind of civilisation from any window so you feel like you are nestled in amongst a private forest paradise. Each night we fell asleep to the sounds of frogs croaking in the pond down below and each morning we woke up to an incredible view. We are 100% coming back here!

  • Dannie was an excellent host and made us feel extremely welcome. She gave us ideas and shared recommendations on places to eat and drinks near by. Dannie went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable and comfortable. Dannie was kind enough to offer us a lift to the wedding we had on. This was really helpful as we did not have to stress over taxis.

Awesome views surround this delightful bungalow we call the poolhouse. Cosy in winter with the fire blazing and cool in summer as you step out onto the front porch and sip your cocktails by the sparkling pool, great for a romantic getaway or simply some "me time" and all right in the heart of the premium wine region of the Adelaide Hills. Only five minutes into the historic town of Hahndorf, 15 minutes down the freeway to Adelaide, and 40 minutes to the beachside Port Elliot.
Our guests have all said the photos dont do it justice. The poolhouse is a unique space that overlooks the Adelaide Hills over a sparkling pool. Enjoy the autumn colours and the cosy fireplace in winter. We are within 10 minutes drive to many of the Adelaide Hills finest wineries, and only 5 from the Hahndorf Hamlet, where there are restaurants, pubs, shopping and strawberry picking all available!
Hahndorf is a German Town steeped in history with old stone buildings and a real village appeal. It is a very popular tourist spot in all seasons. We are only 15 minutes down the freeway to Adelaide city, and 15 mins through Hahndorf to Mount Barker Regional Centre.

A stylish suite in a country character house with exposed beams, high ceilings all with your own private entrance. There's a lounge room with a kitchen and dining area, a separate bedroom and a bathroom. It is in the main house but is accessible only via its own entrance. It's a 5 minute walk to Hahndorf's historic main street where you can enjoy amazing restaurants and cafes.
Uniquely designed to capture elements of yesteryear and beautifully balanced with modern touches. Wide timber floorboards, lofted ceilings with dark feature beams and limestone rendering complete the country charm. Reverse cycle air conditioning, WiFi access, smart TV and contemporary art and furnishing bring the room into the 21st century. The room is very quiet, private and block out curtains will ensure a good sleep in whilst on holiday. The room has a private access down the side path and cannot be accessed directly from the house allowing guests complete privacy. A 400m walk down a charming street takes you to the main street of Hahndorf.
The property is a beautiful street with large gum trees and even some cows at the end of the road. Hahndorf was first settled in 1839 by German immigrants. Many of the historic buildings are well preserved and can be seen in the main street. Hahndorf is a great place to be based whilst exploring the Adelaide Hills, with the Barossa Valley to the north and McLaren Vale to the South.
  • Definitely recommend this place for a weekend getaway. Clean spacious and cozy!!

    Stuart2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • We had a bedroom/lounge & kitchen/ bathroom downstairs. The house is a modern build in a traditional style which fits with the style of the area. It is beautifully presented and is warm and inviting. The property is within an easy walk of the town centre and a very large array of eateries. There is an emphasis on traditional German foods, as well as extensive use of local fresh produce and local wines We were only here overnight but it would be a great spot to unwind for a few days in the clean & green

  • We had an amazing stay at Zarah’s place! Zarah’s place is a convenient less than 10 minute walk to the main street of Hahndorf and there is plenty of street parking available. We had our own private entry via the side gate and our dog (and toddler) had plenty of room to run around and explore in the backyard. The best part of our stay though was meeting Zarah and her beautiful family, who welcomed us like family. We are so glad to have chosen Zarah’s Airbnb over a hotel or resort and would highly recommend to anyone looking for a comfortable, private room with easy access to Hahndorf and surrounding attractions.

On a quiet, dead end road just a 2 minute walk to the historic Hahndorf main street sits our newly renovated seperate living area. Our first house, we have just finished renovating the interior of the bottom story, originally a garage, into two beautiful bedrooms, two living areas and a large bathroom. Hahndorf is situated just a short drive to some of the finest wineries in the Adelaide Hills, and a perfect halfway point between world renown wine regions the Barossa Valley and McLaren vale.
Guests living area is completely seperate of ours upstairs, without even a staircase to join the two. Please note there is no kitchen sink or cooking facilities available, but when you're just a few minutes walk away from some of the nicest cafe's and restaurants the hills have to offer, why not treat yourself? Guests will be supplied with their own fridge, microwave, kettle, toaster and pod coffee machine.
Situated on a quiet dead end road, guests have access to off street parking for at least two cars, with a list of our favourite cafe's, restaurants, shops within walking distance. There is also a park with playground just a stones throw from the front door.

  • Great place to stay. Private room and own en suite. High standard of cleanliness and great hosts with lots of local tips. Did the sketching workshop at the Cedars with Sheila as tutor which I would highly recommend.

  • Absolutely beautiful home, with a luxurious bed and bath space. A very convenient location, very close to main street in Hahndorf. Continental breakfast was a great touch, and an amazing way to start the morning. Highly recommended!

  • Sheila and her husband Stan are really wonderful hosts. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay with them in Handorf. The accommodation is very clean and to a very high standard. The bedroom, bathroom and study area are very private and Sheila (and Stan) go out of their way to make you feel welcome. We enjoyed getting to know them, and at the same time, they were very happy for us to enjoy the home as our own. We don't often stay in B and B's but can highly recommend this one. Handorf's main street is a short walk away and the accommodation is in a private and quiet street away from the daily bustle of this quaint town. Definitely, worth the stay - we would love to come back again.

    David2020-01-10T00:00:00Z
  • Sheila and Stan's house is the perfect location to explore Hahndorf. Their house is welcoming and the bedroom is wonderful. Breakfast in the morning was had with handmade blackberry jam, can't get much better than that!! Remember to ask about the Hans Heysen studio and house when you stay as Sheila volunteers there and knows a lot about it. We loved staying here and would do so again.

    Georgia2019-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • What a wonderful stay with Sheila and Stan! Their property is exceptionally clean and well situated in Hahndorf. Sheila went out of her way to help us when we were running late for a wedding, even dropping us off. Sheila and Stan are lovely people and very easy to chat to. We would happily stay again

    Rebecca2019-12-16T00:00:00Z
  • Sheila is a friendly and thoughtful host who made us feel very welcome in her lovely home. The bedroom, bathroom and guest lounge were well appointed, comfortable and sparkling clean. Sheila's artwork adorns the walls and makes her home feel quite special. Breakfast was amazing, especially the just picked blackberries. It was great being able to walk a few hundred metres and be in the heart of Hahndorf. Thank you for a great stay.

The location is very central to the hot spots in the area and the house and cottage have a wonderful old school feeling. Thanks again Matthew!

It is a large comfortable space with some excellent touches which made us feel at home. Wendy offers generous provisions for breakfast which were from local, delicious produce. It also provides easy access to the Amy Gillett cycle path which is a great ride through some very scenic countryside. I would highly recommend Wendy & Merv's place for stay in the Adelaide Hill.

  • This is a lovely, comfortable and clean place to stay in the Adelaide hills. Merv and Wendy were great hosts, giving us plenty of space but also checking in every now and then to check if we needed anything and give us fresh produce from their beautiful garden. The breakfast they provided was extremely generous and locally sourced. The accommodation was well equipped, with coffee machine, dishwasher and washing machine to make things easy. Very comfy bed, lots of blankets, heating and cooling, beautiful claw-footed bath, and very very clean. The pool was warm and the place felt very private despite being so close to the main house. A great place for a relaxing retreat.

At the Mylor Farm we're transforming a secluded cottage with beautiful gum forest nestled beside a creek into the ultimate farm getaway. We have an established veggie and herb garden, as well as fruit orchard that is 18 months old! We have recent additions of a secret garden with tree fort, cut flower beds and further country garden. Over 15 acres all to yourself and your family - use it as a retreat or a base for exploring the wonderful Adelaide Hills.
Did you ever wish there was a place close to the city where you could go to get away from it all? Our farm is just the place. Just 25 minutes from the Adelaide CBD, yet a whole world away. The cosy stone cottage has three bedrooms tastefully furnished with queen sized beds and soft freshly laundered linen. There is a fireplace to snuggle up to and read a book. A kitchen with stocked pantry to cook your own food and a large dining table to enjoy meals with family and friends. Relax and enjoy the view from the delightful lounge whilst listening to a record. Outside is an abundance of fauna, including visiting kangaroos and koalas. For the birders, we have documented over 40 species of birds. Walk around and explore the woodlands with its wildflowers. Try your hand fishing from the creek, or bring a dish and pan for gold! If you want to be active, our vegetable garden is seasonal, and you'd be welcome to help out. We also have further gardens around the house and a secret garden near our treehouse. Other activities include hiking the Heysen Trail, mountain and road biking, and of course enjoying the local produce, especially the famous local wineries.
Hiking, mountain biking, and fishing are at your doorstep. A little further down the road is Mylor, a small village in the Adelaide Hills. It is surrounded by over 60 wineries with some of the best cool-climate wines in Australia. The Adelaide Hills is known for its weekend farmers' markets, with artisan and local produce.
  • This is a wonderful house with everything you could possible want or need for your stay. The area is beautiful, the house very comfortable and you will never want to leave.

  • A beautiful, secluded retreat perfect for relaxing and exploring the Adelaide Hills. Spotlessly clean, everything you need is provided, comfy beds and a huge range of places to sit and enjoy the peaceful environment and local wildlife. Close to many of the Adelaide Hills towns including Hahndorf and Stirling. Wendy was a superb host, always fast to reply and so helpful. Very highly recommended, we would love to return and stay again!

  • Wendy and Luan have one of the best AirBnB accommodations that my wife and I have stayed in. It had had all the essential amenities, and was quiet and exceptionally well maintained. My family and I enjoyed the secluded spot but which was also near enough to the towns in Adelaide Hills and will certainly want to stay there again for more family bonding!

    Rajah Thiyagarajah2020-01-27T00:00:00Z
  • This property ticks all of the boxes: stylish; functional; private; unique; close to amenities; and family friendly. The winding pathway through the property was easily accessible for all ages. The path leads to and enclosed sanctuary for Easter the kangaroo. He was so gentle and let us pat him and feed him grains. Each bedroom felt luxurious, so no one felt as though they had the “bad” room. The property is close to Mylor village and the popular cyclist cafe, Harvest. We only wished we had stayed for longer!

Charming 1860's cottage set in a private English garden in the heart of Stirling, nestled in a No Through road and 3 min walking distance to local amenities. Three bedrooms (queen, double and single). Wood combustion heater as well as a split system, oil heaters, and an equipped country kitchen. Outdoor eating and lounge and wifi.
Built between 1840and 1860 as a market gardens cottage, there are 4 original cottages sharing this area and a single well, gates and steps still connect them. This area was chosen because of its high fertility.
I love the trees, coffee and ambience of Stirling! It's beautiful

  • Mabel Cottage is a lovely retreat set in a beautiful private garden only a few minutes walk from the centre of Stirling.  It's very clean, well equipped and perfect for relaxing, either indoors or out.  The bed was comfy with plenty of blankets and pillows and the shower was strong and hot.  The fire on cooler nights was also a treat.  I stayed a week but would have loved to stay longer.  Stirling is a fantastic base for exploring the hills and provides excellent coffee, food and wine right on the doorstep.  The cottage is a short walk from Woorabinda Reserve which is a great spot to spend a few hours (or drive if you don't want to hike back up the hill).  Thanks Anna for a wonderful stay.  Hopefully it won't be too long before I come back!

  • Brian’s place was absolutely delightful! My husband and I stayed for our Wedding weekend and Brian had included lots of thoughtful touches such as a bottle of (very nice) red wine (we were even asked our wine preferences) and lovely chocolates. The gardens, which we had access to, were absolutely beautiful and in the morning you can watch the sunrise from the private balcony. Utter perfection!

  • We chose this Airbnb as it was outside of the city - car essential. It’s peaceful, tranquil, beautifully furnished and immaculately clean. The little touches like fresh flowers and things to make breakfast made all the difference. Efficient air conditioning and heating. Crisp bed linen and fluffy towels. 20 mins into Adelaide, 30 mins from airport. Supermarket, pharmacy and places to eat within a few mins drive. A very warm welcome from Brian and Deb.

    Tracy2020-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • Simply beautiful location and living space. Host Brian is a lovely fella who had some great suggestions on where to eat and they didn't disappoint. Deb has styled the living area beautifully. The extra touches were brilliant and much appreciated.

  • An absolute gem in the Adelaide Hills - Brian and Deb have turned this historic homestead into a idyllic couples retreat. Recently renovated with many thoughtful touches, my partner and I could not have chosen better. Set on a large estate they welcome you to explore, Brockhurst is a perfect base for taking in the surrounding region, or even retreating to after spending time in the city. Breakfast on the terrace was bliss. Can definitely recommend.

There are four Airbnbs on the Pirralilla Estate. The Gardeners Cottage is bright and airy, surrounded by lush green gardens, the perfect Hills destination! The cottage has open plan bedroom and lounge area with king size bed, modern bathroom and full kitchen and rustic charm a plenty. Perfect location for mini break, romantic weekend or longer stay in the beautiful Adelaide Hills.
Pirralilla was built in 1902 by the Hawkers, a wealthy pastoral family, as their summer residence. Originally it was a very large acreage with orchards, grazing land, manicured gardens, tennis courts and swimming pool. The buildings include a double storey mansion, church, laundry block, staff eating quarters, stables, double storey pool house, governess's cottage, chauffeur's residence, caretaker's cottage and workshop and gardener's cottage. In the 1950s Pirralilla entered its second phase and was passed onto the Sisters of St Joseph ( Mary MacKillop's order) and it became St Joseph's Convent. A church was added onto the mansion and in 1972 a 30 room dormitory was built adjacent. Pirralilla turned full circle in 2009, as it was returned to a family estate and home for George and Esme Savva and their six children. It retains all the original buildings on 10 acres. The property has been brought into the 21st century and returned to its former glory. Work has now started on renewing the gardens.
Aldgate village has numerous shops, cafes and a supermarket and is an easy 15 minute walk. Stirling is larger, has a popular monthly market, library, various restaurants and interesting shops and is 2 minutes by car or 30 by foot. Adelaide is a 25 minute drive and Adelaide Airport a 40 minute drive. Hahndorf, a popular tourist destination is 10 minutes by car or can be accessed by public transport. Pirralilla is in close proximity to many Adelaide Hills wineries and not too far should guests wish to explore the Barossa Valley or Maclaren Vale wineries.
  • Lovely space to rest and relax, great location close to Stirling and Algate

  • My husband and I had a lovely 3 nights at Esme's. We had beautiful home made scones on arrival and the cottage was spotlessly clean. We would recommend Pirralilla to anyone who enjoys history and the beautiful peace and quiet of the Adelaide Hills. Thank you for sharing your amazing property. Phil and Judy Weber.

  • Esme's garden cottage is a lovely spot tucked away in the beautiful Adelaide Hills. It was a last minute and quick stay for me and Esme was extremely responsive and helpful which was great. Check in was seamless and the cottage itself is spotless and a cosy place to spend the night. Thanks again Esme!

Facing East, sunrises can be spectacular, and you have full access to the 10 acre property for walks, picnics, koala spotting and bird watching.
The cottage dates from early 1900's and was the original farm cottage of three rooms. With modern amenities it now provides a warm self contained bedroom, sitting and studying area with private bathroom from which to explore the Adelaide Hills.
Set in the beautiful Adelaide Hills, Shanks cottage is within walking distace to Warrawong wildlife sanctuary, and close proximity to the Heysen Trail and the Tour Down Under. Easy access to a great range of local restaurants and cafes, it provides a relaxing space to explore this historic area. On the last Sunday of each month, Stirling market is nearby for great browsing of local produce, crafts, clothes, plants and other interesting items.
  • This is a gorgeous little stone cottage that is a joy to stay at. Beautiful quality linen and huge fluffy towels, not to mention the comfiest bed of all time, made it a fantastic place to get away from the world for the night together. Breakfast on the terrace overlooking the valley in the morning was such a lovely way to start the day. I would recommend this cottage highly and we will certainly be staying there again.

    Christie2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely cottage, very clean and close to some great restaurants and pubs. Sensational views

    Scott2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • We were just passing through for one night at Shanks Cottage. We liked it very much. The cottage is very nicely decorated, the bed is very comfortable and you have a fantastic view. (Unfortunately it was raining when we were there) In the mornings and evenings, many parrots come to water in the garden. You need a car to go to the next restaurant. Liz gives a lot of tips on what to do. We can fully recommend the accommodation.

    Annette2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • Liz's property is stunning! The cottage is spacious and clean. We really enjoyed our stay.

    Molis2019-12-06T00:00:00Z
  • This place has it all! Such a great place with a stunning view! Lots of things to do within the stay, lots of books to read, board games to play and more. A great breakfast selection was a lovely touch. Lots of information about the area, places to go and eat. The cottage was clean, modern and still had that classic touch. The view and surrounding areas are just stunning and we very much look forward to make a weekend out of Shanks as we only stayed the one night. Look forward to coming back! Thanks Liz !

    Ben2019-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • Liz was so accommodating, the cottage was more amazing than we expected, felt so welcoming and homely with all the lovely touches, highly recommend this beautiful cottage, we will definitely be back ❤

    Shelly2019-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • We were unable to stay at Liz’s as we missed our plane to Adelaide.

    John2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • Liz is a lovely host and very helpful! The gardens are beautiful - don't be put off by the big fence surrounding the property as you enter. Sitting outside in the garden area for breakfast is beautiful, getting the morning sun and the amenities are fine. The fireplace and fire-pit outside looked great although we didn't have a chance to use them.

Featuring exposed beams, wood stove, comfy queen bed, plus 2 single sofa beds upstairs and a leather couch downstairs. There's a kitchen and dining area, all within a 5 minute walk of Main Street where there's an abundance of restaurants and cafes. The wineries of the Adelaide Hills are just around the corner and McLaren Vale and the Barossa Valley are an easy drive . Great for solo travellers, couples and families with small children. You can walk to the Adelaide Hills Convention Centre too.
Its a two level barn with the charm of yesteryear designed with today's contemporary industrial chic. Its a separate building to the main house so you have absolute privacy. Reverse cycle air conditioning on both levels and a wood burner down stairs make sure you'll be comfortable year round.
The Barn is a few minutes walk to Hahndorf main street and if you're lucky you might see our local cows on the corner. We are in a quiet residential street with no through traffic.
  • Great place easy to find walking distance to the main strip can’t go wrong beautiful place recommend it to anyone money for value...
