What an amazing place to unwind from the noise and hustle from city!! Marty's cottage was conveniently located from the highway, a mere 90 mins from the city. Prior to arriving, Marty was easy and very prompt with responding to my emails. Upon arrival, both Marty and Mike greeted me with their adorable pooches. Their backyard is large and is equipped with a BBQ and place for a bon fire. The bunkie itself is a small yet cozy space equipped with an electric cooler, super comfy queen bed, table and chairs and small electric appliances to name a few. The entire space was spotless, fresh and soooo comfortable. It was walking distance to some cool trails and seconds from the river, which made my dog extremely happy and tired. Marty and Mike were such friendly and hospitable hosts. Highly recommend!!!

The Funky Bunky was a sweet crash. Everything was just so. Thanks Marty & Mike and Murphy & M_?_y too! Rascal, ZuZu and I enjoyed it very much. Funny I thought it was a bit out of the way for me, but to top off a (albeit short!) sweet say, it turned out my ride home was far more beautiful than the way I originally would have gone. Nice!

This place is beautiful! It's just what you need if you're looking for a quiet, peaceful place. The Bunky has all the amenities that you'll ever need for a weekend away. Marty & Mike are so sweet and everything you could possibly want in a hosts. They make your stay so much better. Quiet, relaxing place with a wonderful host. Nice deck to sit and enjoy coffee with nature. It was a convenient location for our stay. Wahago is a nice town and easy access to highway 11. Height restrictions may be an issue for some travelers.

Mike and Marty were a pleasure! We didn't get to spend much time there as we were in the area to visit family, but for the time we were there it was lovely. Their dogs Marilyn and Murphy were super friendly. Lots of personality. They got along with our dog who is much smaller. They became friends immediately. The bunky is quite small.You have to climb stairs to get to it and duck your head to get inside. It was very cute inside and the furnishings are comfortable. The bed was really comfy as well. There is a toilet and a sink behind a small wall with a curtain door. There was coffee and a coffee maker which was very nice to have. They also had an electric cooler which was nice too. Mike and Marty were super friendly themselves and made us feel at home.

We had a wonderful stay at Kent's guesthouse, which came equipped with all the essentials (pots, pans, towels, etc.). The lake was just right behind their main house which we had full access to, as well as to their dock, canoes and paddle boat. Kent was an organized host and made sure we had all the details for our check in.

A very peaceful stay and nice location ... less than 2 hours from Toronto. Also close to Barrie and Casino Rama. We had restful sleeps in the comfortable bed. It felt like we were staying in our own little cottage. Thank you!

The house was alright and a little dirty and old, but the property and backyard was nice. The neighbours were super nice and canoeing around the lake was fun. Also firewood were provided.

The guesthouse is right behind the main house where Kent's parents live. The place was beautiful, but if you're planning a cottage getaway with a group of friends DO NOT come here. Kent was not around during our stay, but his parents were there. Nice couple, but a little inconsiderate. While we were spending time on their yard, they decided to mow the lawn. The whole time they were doing yard work... we had absolutely no privacy unless we were inside the guesthouse. It almost felt like we were visiting a friend's parents because they were there the whole time. For $500, it was not worth it for us. Like i said, the place was nice and peaceful but no privacy whatsover.

This is a lovely, well kept cottage. The scenery is gorgeous and sitting on the dock is very relaxing. The river is good for canoeing and boating, but there are too many weeds for comfortable swimming. The cottage itself is clean and has everything that you need. Overall it was a very nice and relaxing stay!

Spent three nights with my family and the cottage was very well maintained. Sam was a great host, answering our questions by text and email. The river is quite nice and the cottage included a kayak and a canoe to enjoy the views. Would recommend Sam's cottage for anyone looking for a getaway close to Toronto.

Sam's cottage was at the perfect location. It's right on the water and he supplies you with life jackets as well as a kayak, canoe, and paddle boat. The layout of the cottage is kinda weird but overall it's excellent value. We would all love to come back!

Great weeekend at Emerald Escape! A group of us were up in Orillia for the Suburu Triathalon Series, and nothing beated coming back to Sam's cottage and relaxing on the dock after a long race! Clean, a lot of space, great location, plenty of fun water activities, and Sam was super easy to get a hold of for any questions before the trip! Thank you for renting out this space to us! We had an amazing girls weekend at Sam's Cottage. The water was so peaceful and perfect for canoeing, kayaking and paddle boarding. All of the water toys were provided and in excellent condition. Sam was a great host and quick to respond to any questions. If you're looking for a deep nature getaway then this isn't the place for you. But if you want to get away from the city, enjoy some fresh air, swimming and campfires but still be close enough to town to grab a coffee and freshly baked croissants, then this cottage is for you.

Great value, exactly what I was looking for. There were 7 of us and we had more than enough room. Waterfront, with toys, as well as a brand new dock. The fire pit was situated very close to the water which made for some very nice relaxing nights.

Had a great week at Coral's lakehouse! My family came up from the States (it was their first time in Canada), so this was a great place for us all to gather. We had two kids that swam all day everyday- the water is shallow and clear. We also used the kayaks, canoe daily (&loved them). The outdoor seating is great as we would eat dinner and watch the sun set over the lake. Wonderful place to stay!

We had a fantastic stay at Coral's cottage. The water is crystal clear and the sock was nice and tranquil. We made use of the canoe and kayaks to explore the many little islands scattered around the lake. The cottage itself is warm and inviting and perfect for a long weekend outside of the city. Great stay, great experience, even better location! If you are looking to rent a cottage on a lake in cottage country in Ontario then STOP and rent this one. There really is no point driving another hour to Muskoka area and dealing with the traffic when you have this fabulous gem on Lake Couchiching. Large property on the waterfront, fabulous for families with kids or just adults. 2 story cottage that give fantastic privacy and space away from noisy kids or other noisy guests. This was a great feature. The water on the lake is the clearest we have seen of any lake, the water is warm, beautiful Dock to relax on, can rent motor boats on the lake nearby, the rental also comes with full use of 2 kayaks and a canoe this is very convenient. The water is shallow throughout most of the lake... Great fishing on the lake if you like. Village of Washago with cute restaurant, ice cream parlor, hardware store, convenience store, etc is just minutes away.. Gravenhurst 15 minutes away, Casino Rama a few minutes south, Orillia just 15 minutes away as well. This cottage is in a great location. Owners are wonderful, accommodating, and helpful. Highly recommend it and looking forward to our next time renting it.

The location of the cottage is great and easy to get to from Toronto. The cottage is as described and fully equipped with linens and towels, BBQ, kayaks,canoe and even some condiments. The water is very easily accessible and is shallow and warm with a sandy bottom. Great for young kids. Coral and Galen were wonderful hosts and easily reachable for questions. If you're looking a great cottage, scenic views, great swimming with a low maintenance owner, this is the place. Nilab made everything easy and I would 100% rent this place again!

Our group stayed here the August long weekend. Large group of friends with some small children. The cottage was well maintained and and had most items you would need for a short stay. Outdoor area was spacious and the lake was clean. Some things to note: there is no boat launch on the property, you must drive 5 minutes to the public launch, towels are not provided however linens are, kitchen is missing some items including pots, baking trays. Overall we had a great time and Nilab provided quick responses to our questions we would definately stay here again.

It was such a nice cottage. The bed rooms were so big. The kitchen and hallway were big enough. We really enjoyed our stay. Especially the lake at the back yard.

Not all it is cracked up to be. Mosquitoes galore outside. Noisy neighbours upstairs. No smoke detector. Not even a can opener that worked. Stale air. Not a happy stay.......

Lisa was a great host. She was very communicative and accommodating. Her place was great for a relaxing weekend - the best part was canoeing down the beautiful river. It is definitely a great place to disconnect and unwind.

The people upstairs were very friendly and there dog was so cute and gentle. I would recommend Lisa cottage to others that are looking for a serene atmosphere. Our stay at Lisa's was great - the place was ready for us when we got there, tidy, and had everything we needed. Check-in was easy and the tenants upstairs were very nice and welcoming. Abby the dog is a huge sweetheart. Lisa stayed in touch and was able to give great suggestions for things to do. We did not have a fire or use any of the outdoor equipment as there were simply too many mosquitoes in the forested area. This was just as well as my sisters and I were happy to hangout inside, and drive a short distance to Orillia for our outdoor time. Overall, a wonderful stay for anyone looking for a place to escape the city!

We contacted Lisa the day we wanted to arrive, hoping that she would be okay with us visiting for the day. Everything was already set up and ready to go. Her basement apartment is very clean, but does not have a kitchen. The backyard was spacious and good for playing with kids. The river was not good for kids, as the entrance drops off and is steep. Washago is 5 minutes away and you can find a grocery store and restaurants there.

Lisa was the best host ever, she went above and beyond expectations. The place was great we had an amazing time there would definitely go back.

My husband, parents and I had a great time staying at Carole and Charles' "River Retreat". We loved spending time on the dock, on the side deck, and around the fireplace in the evening (the box of fleece blankets at the door are a nice touch for when sitting outside on a chilly evening). We also made good use of the canoe and paddle board which was really lovely especially in the Green River where the water is so clear. The cottage itself is very cozy and clean. Just don't forget to bring a big jug of drinking water as the water at the cottage is not-drinkable [something that was mentioned in the Rental Agreement but that I had forgotten ;) ] Would definitely recommend this place and stay here again!

Carole and Charles are great hostsI When arriving at the cottage we were greeted with a chilled bottle of sparkling wine, a beautiful bouquet of fresh flowers and smelly candles to give the cottage a homie touch. By day, we enjoyed the use of the canoe and paddleboats, as well as swimming off the dock. In the evenings, we enjoyed relaxing by a warm bonfire by the river. When the weather was not cooperating, we enjoyed watching movies and playing games indoors. We just loved our stay. Such great place to relax and unwind!

We were in the area for business and needed to stay. Wonderful place to stay with the water close by. We wish we would have had more time to take full advantage of all that was offered. Next time if we return we will schedule a few more days to vacation.

Scott's cottage is very nice and close to everything we needed including shops, lcbo and winter activities. The large living and dining area was great for our group of 8 too as was the hot tub. The bedroom and washroom layout is a little quirky but other than that a great place overall for a weekend trip away with friends!

The hot tub and fireplace were just what our group needed to recharge over a long weekend. Horseshoe Valley ski hill is only a half hour away, and the town is adorable.

The place was beautiful and very spacious. Lots of neat areas to hang out: on the dock by the lake, around the campfire area, on the huge deck with the hot tub, or inside the large open concept cottage living room / dining room / kitchen. It was also far away enough from neighbors that we didn't need to worry about them waking us or us waking them when we were hot tubbing at night.

This cozy cottage was perfect for our Christmas holiday.. Scott was amazing he answered every question and concern right away.. we did our Christmas dinner and they even provided a turkey cooker and also provided crafts for the kids. It was so thoughtful. We will definitely be back in the summer..

We had a great time at Scott's cottage. We were 4 adults, an infant and a dog and there was lots of space for all of us. The location was really good. Close to the town and right on the water. The hot tub was very relaxing and Scott was nice enough to leave us a note and bottle of wine. Check in was super easy. We didn't actually need to see Scott at any point but whenever we had a question, he responded to us within minutes via the airBNB app. All in all, it was a great trip for friends and family alike and we wouldn't hesitate to book it again.

We were so lucky to book our family first Airbnb trip with Paul's cottage. We had a wonderful weekend in there, Paul and his wife are very friendly and reachable, their cottage is clean and comfortable, the kids want to stay there forever, they had lots of outdoor activities, and also played some family board games which Paul left it in cottage.

Loved our stay here! There was lots of room and it was in the perfect location on the river. We had a great time taking the canoe & kayaks out , and there's an island just a minute boat ride out that has a picnic bench and a rope to jump into the lake on. Paul was also great and super welcoming , he greeted us when we arrived to show us around and tell us about the area. Tons of fun and wish we could have stayed longer, I will definitely rent again next year!

Staying at Paul's place was an absolute pleasure. The pictures really do not convey how beautiful both the inside and outside of the property is. Paul's place is equipped with every amenity you could possibly need. The treehouse, fire pit and hanging day bed were an added bonus. Kayaking, canoeing, and paddle-boarding on the river was a lot of fun, especially after Paul pointed out to us where the current was strongest. (Guests should definitely make sure to bring PFDs.) Paul was extremely communicative from the time of booking to the end of our stay. The community around the cottage is also very welcoming and helpful. I cannot recommend this place enough!

This place was such a sweet escape! Went with 2 other couples (6 of us in total). We were so relaxed in the canoe /kayak /paddle boat, and even brought up one of our own canoes. The hammock was a great place to nap! Paul was fantastic! He was easy to reach through our entire planing from beginning to end, sent an informative activity/ info package, met us upon arrival and gave us a detailed tour and made us feel very welcomed! He was also kind enough to gift us with chocolate biscuits and marshmallows to use at the campfire. The metal sticks were provided as well. The place is exactly as listed, fully stocked kitchen and bathrooms! Lovely place if you want a nice getaway. The island in the middle was fun - if you can get there! Tm it had a diving board and a swing rope. Water - currents were quite strong so you cannot swim across from the dock to the island.. Many people took their boats across, which is what we did too! Our friends couldn't make it upstream on the paddle boat either. Only downside (at no fault of the owners!) was just the trains sounding quite often in the distance. The treehouse they built was so cool to visit and see the stars at night from! We loved this cottage, what it had to offer and would definitely return! Paul was so friendly and very accommodating :)

We loved Stephen and Shellie's place! It was a perfect mix of a getaway but still having many different options of activities. When we felt like having dinner out, we took a 20 min drive to Orillia for a walk and dinner downtown. They were very accommodating and quick to get back to us!

Great overall space for a get-away. The overall property has lots to offer: pool, beach/river, canoes/kayaks/paddle boards for those reclined, ice cream at the welcome centre!! Hosts were excellent; prompt and courteous communication, very welcoming!! Would come back again!

Overall was a great place to spend a weekend. Lots of amenities for the whole family at the park (pool, clubhouse, small beach, playground). The place is central in Muskoka. We were able to travel to Gravenhurst and Bracebridge while we were here. Place is small, but comfortable. Perfect for our family of 3, we would stay again.

Stephen and Shellie's cottage was clean ans comfortable. It is located in the Shamrock Resort community, which is very family oriented! Every day there were activities offered and they even had a kids movie night, complete with popcorn! The cottage is more suited for four people instead of five but my family of five made it work. The meshed in patio was an added bonus. Our backyard was a beautiful view of the Sevrin River and everyone was friendly and helpful. While there, we had complementary use of canoes, the pools and paddling boats but unfortunately one of the pool's heater was broken and the paddle boat as well. But not to worry - all was not lost as we also had options to use speed boats and pontoons, where were very reasonably priced for use ($10/hr) my family really enjoyed our time at Stephen and Shellie's cottage and would definitely like to return.

The cottage was immaculate and very comfortable! Stephen and Shellie were very friendly hosts, always touching base. Great place for young kids, with plenty of activities to do. Unfortunately, we didn't get the best weather up there, so we were glad the cottage was very cozy for being indoors.

The house looked exactly like the photos. Check in was easy and we found the place quite alright. The house was clean and organized once we got inside. However, the water would continuously turn of in midst of taking a shower or washing the dishes. Also, the AC was not working so the house was quite hot. Besides those small things, it was quite spacious and great for a girls weekend getaway. It was a very pleasant weekend.

Booked Chelsea's place to surprise my boyfriend for his birthday. House is gorgeous and looks exactly like the pictures. It is in the perfect location, not too far from the city and has its own lakefront. Unfortunately, we happened to go up on the weekend where we experienced the most rain and water levels were so high that it was not safe for us to go in. Chelsea was honest enough to keep me updated of the water levels the weeks leading up to my trip. She even offered me a discount for mother nature's inconvenience! A completely unexpected, but much appreciated gesture. Chelsea was an amazing host from beginning to end! She was in constant communication with me even leading up to my stay and was quick to respond when we were having issues with the WiFi. Thank You, Chelsea for a wonderful weekend. We will definitely be looking to stay again in the summer when we can enjoy the water.

Very close to the river, with nice decks. Very large and spacious, lots of natural light. Very close to Hwy 11, and comfortable for a family. Privacy is a small challenge as there are no window blinds or curtains, also with the French Glass doors for the upstairs bathrooms and bedrooms. Tidy and clean.

The house was very clean when we arrived and was plenty more spacious than we thought it would be. It fit 8 people comfortable and we didn't feel crowded. The backyard amd dock is perfect for relaxing. Would recommend to anyone to stay here.

This is a fantastic property with a large backyard leading down to the Black River. The house itself is fantastic. It's a very spacious home with modern appliances and very comfortable furniture. It easily accommodated our group of 8. There was a BBQ available which we used in the evenings. We also made use of the kyacks and canoes that were available for use. I would highly recommend this property. It's one of the best rental properties that I have used while visiting Muskoka.

Cottage was wonderful, nice and relaxing. Great screened in Porch. Lots of books and puzzles for you to use. Dog friendly was great. You can jump off the train tracks into the water, about a 20 -25 foot height. Was a little chilly when we went and I don't think there was any heating we could turn on, but there were lots of blankets for us to use. Was a lovely stay! Friendly Neighbours too. Thank you

My boyfriend and I had a great stay at Norman & RuthAnn's "cozy cottage". We spent our time on the lake kayaking, relaxing in the hottub, enjoying the warm fire in the evenings, and playing board games. We decided to venture a little into town, and had breakfast at Friend's Diner (which was 10/10). We played mini putt in the course just a block over from the cottage and enjoyed every second of our stay! The only downfall we had was the closeness to the highway, although in the evening, the sound was still fairly quiet. Overall, was a great trip. Norman (Good-looking older man (he told me to write this.. )) and RuthAnn were very pleasant to communicate with! We appreciate all of your kindness and good efforts into making our stay great. We plan to be back.

Close to highway if you are travelling long distances. Cottage provided many amendeies for a comfortable stay. Owners were also very flexible with us and provided great communication which made us feel very loved and cared for.

Great hosts, we recommend them highly!

The cottage was exactly as described. The area is lovely and Norman and RuthAnn were a pleasure to deal with. They went above and beyond to ensure we had a nice stay. We are very happy with our experience.

The cottage is as described. It is compact and cozy, had everything we needed. It is close to hwy but the noise was not a trouble for us during the night.

We booked Norman and RuthAnn's place to film a short movie and they were amazing about the whole thing! They were very accommodating, Communicating was amazing! call or text they were there to respond ASAP. They were great about giving us privacy and not hovering. This place is super cute and great! I Would recommend for filmmakers as well as families! The entire p;ace has a warm, cozy and homey feel. The fire place inside and the fire pit outside were a amazing plus!

The cottage is fantastic. It may look deceivingly small from the outside when you get there but once you step inside it's incredibly spacious with an open concept layout. It was kept very clean and the back porch is fantastic for sitting down and enjoying some bbq or you can sit on the picnic table. A firepit right by the lake front made for very relaxing nights enjoying the breeze an the fire. There's a screen room on the back porch where you can sit outside at night and not have to worry about bugs. 2 very fun inflatable kayaks we're available to us as well as several board games and the a great set up to watch a movie on the TV. All in all, it's a great place to spend the weekend.

Very cute, clean lake front cottage. Rented this cottage for my birthday with a few friends and it was more then a perfect weekend. Doug was an awsome host and left us everything we needed in supplies. The cittage was very cozy, beds were very comfortable and slept everyone very comfortably. The bunky was my favorite part as i got my own private room away from the cottage and it was very comfotable and livable. The lake front was gorgous and the property was kept clean and nice. I have no complaints about this weekend i wiuld recommend this cottage to anyone!

It's a perfect little cottage. The kitchen had everything we needed except coffee. We really appreciated the big beach towels, the hammock, kayaks, firewood & firepit. The lake water is gray for swimming and there's both a dock and a tiny sandy beach. There is a low hum of traffic from the highway. The lake is small but does have powerboats. We'll try to come back.

Fantastic stay! The host were great and extremely quick to respond! The cottage was spotless and had everything we needed. The lake was warm, clean and had a nice sandy bottom (great for the kids) We will definitely be back and would recommend this place to anyone!

The place is fantastic. Better than advertised. Right on the water. It was comfy and clean. I really enjoyed my stay and would definitely stay again!

A wonderful little gem of a cottage, perfect for relaxing with family or friends right on the lake during the day and around the camp-fire at night. Very spacious with 3 bedrooms inside plus the separate bunky outside along with 5 separate sitting areas. Very clean and comfortable. Thank you Doug and Kim... everything was just perfect!

My friends and I stayed at Sunnyside cottage over the August long weekend. Doug and his wife were very friendly hosts and gave us a thorough walk-through of the property upon our arrival. The place is clean and beautifully furnished, and the yard is nice and private. The lake is quiet and the sunsets are gorgeous – we also lucked out with some of the best fireworks on the lake! The kayaks were also a great touch – Doug had ordered them a few days prior and they were perfect. Would definitely recommend the place and would love to return.

Dougs Cottage was the perfect place for our family. There were toys, kayaks,a little sandy beach shallow enough for the kids and a hammock. Grocery store just a 5 minute drive. The cottage was clean and included all the amenities you would need. They were great hosts and easy to get a hold of, hope to return!

Sue was unable to be there when we arrived but did everything possible to make our transition into the house and the surroundings possible. It was much appreciated and went well.

Sue was a lovely and engaging hostess. We so enjoyed her company and she took great care of us. Her home was charming, cozy and the location was spectacular...the lake was right outside our window. We would happily book her place again!
