French Restaurant

“Le Diplomate pays homage to French café culture by providing a comfortable place for enjoying classics such as Onion Soup Gratinée, Steak Frites, and Escargots. Towering plateaus of oysters, clams, shrimp cocktail and lobster are the perfect start to a meal, and the crusty made-in-house baguettes are the ideal accompaniment to a selection of regional French cheeses.”

“Located just down Monroe Street, I’m at The Coupe at least once a week! They do coffee and pastries to-go ($3-$5), as well as sit down breakfast ($15pp), lunch, and dinner. It’s pretty big so there isn’t usually a wait (Sometimes for brunch), and very reasonably priced. Definitely worth checking out! ”

Hot Dog Joint

“A DC staple: order the Original chili half smoke. Bens is the type of place where celebrities come and have their photo taken. A little bit of history, after MLK was assassinated, Bens was the only place on U st that survived the riots that followed. It’s still there, in its original form basking in all its glory (must visit U st location only). ”
