This 18th century character cottage is located just 80 metres from the popular Hele Bay beach. Boasting a landscaped rear garden with sea views, and decked barbeque area, the cottage is equipped and decorated to a high standard throughout.
Hele Bay Cottage is the perfect choice for those wishing to holiday in traditional surroundings, with an array of outdoor activities and family attractions located on your doorstep. (Visit Exmoor National Park, some of the UK's premier surfing beaches, outdoor activity centres, theme parks, animal parks, craft centres, stately homes, and much more .
Hele is an inviting village situated just outside the bustling seaside resort of Ilfracombe. The main road leads down to Hele Bay, a sheltered cove with safe sand and shingle beach, and numerous rock pools to be explored at low tide. The village itself boasts a choice of pub restaurants, a beachside café, parking, and a garage along with a well-stocked shop, selling fresh bread and cakes, alcohol, frozen and chilled groceries, milk and newspapers. Hele's 16th century corn mill has been fully restored and offers visitors the opportunity to purchase unique pottery, watch a demonstration, or have a go. Hele is separated from Ilfracombe by Hillsborough, the summit of which rises to an imposing 447ft above sea level. Follow the South West Coast Path from Hele to the summit, and enjoy one of very few places in the UK where the sun rises and sets over a sea horizon.
  • A lovely cosy cottage which was clean and tidy. Handy to have a big TV and Netflix etc especially when weather bad. Highly recommend pub just on corner. Food was fantastic. Easy check in and communication. Off street parking. Had everything you need with extra bedding, towels etc. We did have a leak while there but they responded immediately, checked we were ok and arranged to make things better.

  • Very recommended place to stay. It was very tidy and clean. There are lots of amenities such as smart tv with provided Netflix account and a really good wine as a welcoming treat. Looking forward to stay here again !!

  • A wonderfully cosy and charming place and a great base to explore from. We had a fantastic stay with our two young boys. The cottage is so comfortable and there were so many thoughtful touches such as the nespresso machine and toiletries in bathroom. Claire and Chris left lots of helpful information and were quick to reply to any questions. The bedrooms are really tastefully decorated and everything so clean and fresh - also great to have bedrooms next to each other with young kids. We had a wet and windy few days but still did some coastal walking and it was great to have the cosy wood burner to come back to and lovely hot showers. Didn’t eat in the pub (literally opposite) but kids loved the skittle alley and (small) soft play in the room downstairs. Ilfracombe just up the road and Barnstaple is not far (a great cheese shop and bakery - and trampoline park for kids for wet weather activities).

  • Great pub and grub across the road

  • Stayed this weekend and had a great time. 3 kids and a dog, plenty of space for us all. Warm and cosy even though the house is huge! 3 good size bedrooms, 2 lovely shower rooms and a big open plan living/kitchen area. Fully equipt kitchen, everything supplied! Very clean. The outdoor space was great, lawn and decked area, hot tub was enjoyed by the kids. The hosts were informative and helpful, there is a good guide book to look through. Always on hand for a chat or information or the offer of fresh eggs! The house is located within a farm, the lake was fun- got the boat out for a paddle. Played ping pong and had some family fun. Fed the horses carrots , there is plenty to do for the kids to keep them entertained there. Woolacombe beach is a ten minute drive, gorgeous beach even in the wind and rain. Dog friendly this time of year too. Hired bikes in the local village of Braunton, £15 for 2 adult bikes all day, thanks Otters cycles. Did the Tarka trail and ended up in Barnstaple having tea and cake. Siam bistro in Braunton was delicious, got a takeaway one night. I'd recommend this place, we will be back!

  • A little gem of a retreat in the North Devon countryside, and with the coast just being less than a 10 min drive away. Pollyanna is a kind and thoughtful host. She provided us with local information, she’s always on hand if needed and even warming up our hot tub when we’d been out for the day so it was ready when we returned. We loved the layout of the place and it was very clean and the kitchen has everything you need. The views are stunning and the lake a tranquil retreat. We were there for my husbands 40th birthday and our 3 children of 9 and 8 yrs. The Farm provided enough things for us to do if we wanted to stay there all day or there were lots of other activities close by if needed. We really had a special time, the hot tub is amazing and we have lots of wonderful memories to take away with us. Thanks to Pollyanna and her husband for having us.

  • 6 girls stayed for a relaxing weekend. We had such a lovely time & there was plenty of space for all of us. Such lovely decor and personal touches throughout the property. We loved the hot tub & the location was perfect. Pollyanna was fantastic. Very quick at responding to messages and facilitating all queries. We will definitely be returning.

  • We stayed at Pollyanna’s place over the weekend. It was exactly what we had wanted! Fantastic space for a relaxed winter weekend with lots of walks and places to explore. The views from the house were incredible as were the surroundings. Close distance to anything you would need and everyone was very sad to have to come home!! Pollyanna couldn’t have been more helpful and we are very grateful to have found such a lovely host and location. Would highly recommend!!

    Cassandra2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • If you’re wanting a relaxing retreat away from the hustle and bustle than look no further! Pollyanna’s little cottage is beyond perfection. It offered everything that we wanted, a place to chill whilst still keeping us busy with lots things to do. Close to the beach, national trust areas and lots of adventurous walks to go on! We all absolutely loved our time there to the point my youngest son wants to live there! Haha! Pollyanna and her family are so warming and welcoming and they can’t do enough for you! We are very much looking forward to returning there soon xx

The views are stunning to the sea from this spacious comfortable flat. Dine in with the sun setting over the sea and relax with Sky TV and Sky Sports. Conveniently situated for the town and beaches 5 mins walk away. Great walks and restaurants here.
With the sea just 400 yards away, the large bay-windowed sitting room (17.5' x 13') has wonderful views of the sea and the Welsh coast in the distance. Ilfracombe has a lot to offer with its historic harbour and Tunnels beaches. There is also a theatre and cinema in the town and many quality restaurants, including one owned by the artist Damien Hirst. The award winning beaches of Woolacombe and Saunton Sands are very close by. Ilfracombe is also on the edge of the Exmoor National Park and there are many interesting places to explore, for instance, Lynton and Lynmouth with its water-powered funicular railway or Woolacombe and Croyde, renowned for their surfing and surfing schools. There are frequent boat trips to Lundy Island from Ilfracombe, as well as coastal and fishing excursions. Children and pets are welcome.
  • We had a lovely welcome from our host Wini who was very friendly and made sure we had all the information we needed for our stay. The view was incredible from the flat and we enjoyed dining in as well as making good use of the local eateries. Everything was comfortable for our stay and would definitely love to visit again.

  • Fantastic views across to the sea and the town's famous capstone hill. A perfect location as you are close to everything in town. There as lovely period features with a huge marble fireplace and tall ceilings. Wini is a fabulous host and made sure we had everything we needed. We used the sofa bed as well as the bedroom, which worked very well. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend this flat to anyone looking for a great base from which to explore this pretty seaside town.

She was very friendly, welcoming and had prepped everything, from setting up the hot tub fire to giving us baking foil for our Christmas dinner! The place was clean and very smart. Clearly a lot of care an attention goes into cottage and it’s surroundings. The kitchen was so well stocked that we were able to cook our Christmas dinner with ease. A wonderful touch was the huge and majestic Christmas tree which made everything very seasonal and homely. I would highly recommend this place and would happily come back. Fully equipped, bright and airy, self-contained apartment for two, situated in Ilfracombe's oldest street. Close to harbour, seafront and all amenities. Set in the Artisan Quarter which offers a wide choice of great restaurants and interesting shops and galleries.
This is a first floor apartment, comprising of a private entrance area, separate WC, living/kitchen/dining area, bedroom and large wetroom/shower area.
We are in the heart of the burgeoning Artisan Quarter of the town. Fore Street and its surrounding area is well-known for a range of outstanding eating places, cocktail bars and pubs. We are also minutes away from the South West Coast path, and there are many wonderful walks, long and short, which can be accessed from our doorstep! The apartment provides a great base from which to explore all that Ilfracombe has to offer.
  • Lovely place to stay. The apartment is just perfect and the pictures don’t do justice to the character of the place. The hosts are fantastic, friendly and helpful. A lovely touch to have breakfast available in the apartment, croissant, pain au chocolat, cereal, jams and orange juice. The location couldn’t be better, we were slightly worried on booking as the place to the left looked like a pub- it’s actually an art studio. Quiet but hugely central, walking distance to most things. Would 100% stay here again!

Large, 3rd floor Apartment with big window and lots of light that has great views over the bay and harbour. Fantastic moorland, coastal and beach walks all around and a Leisure centre just up the road. A short walk from the town, Ilfracombe is a very popular holiday destination. I live in the apartment along with my small pet dog, who is very friendly. I get on very well with people and being retired have lots of time to give.
All facilities that Ilfracombe has to offer: Beautiful scenery, coffee shops, bars, arcades, fast food, cafes, supermarkets, etc are within a very short walk from the apartment and my favourite pub/bar "The Thatch" is just round the corner. There is a medical centre in town if needed.

  • Great value for money for a seaside town in Devon! A short walk from the harbour and on-street parking almost outside. Great views of the hills and the Damien Hurst statue at the end of the harbour. Sam is very welcoming as is his very playful 1 year old dog 'Winston' Sam provides a choice of 'help yourself' breakfasts, plenty of clean towels, bathroom essentials and bottled water in the large twin bed room. Yes there are a few steps up to the apartment and it's not in the centre of town but all the above adds up to great value!

    Roger2020-01-02T00:00:00Z

    Tom2019-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • Sam was a great host - very friendly and welcoming - and with the aid of his excellent local knowledge we found our way to the best fish and chips restaurant in town! The apartment was clean, and beds extremely comfortable. Sam offered us full use of his kitchen, and we availed ourselves of the wide range of breakfast cereals and fresh fruit on offer. We would definitely like to stay again. Thank you, Sam!

Private room in beautiful, light, airy apartment in Victorian house. South west facing, sun trap roof terrace with views towards the hills and sea. Perfect for a stop off from walking the South West Coast Path, cycling the Tarka trail or exploring stunning Exmoor, this centrally located apartment is just a few minutes walk to shops, cafes and restaurants; the harbour and quayside; Damien Hirst's breath taking Verity; the cinema and Landmark Theatre and local beaches and coast path.
The room is light, with modern décor in restful natural colours. The apartment's location is central yet quiet and couldn't be more conveniently located for visiting the local area on foot, bike, car or bus.
This is a beautiful area for walking, exploring the coastline and surrounding beaches or wandering around the shops and cafes in the harbour and admiring Damien Hirst's Verity. The Landmark Theatre and Embassy Cinema are both a short walk away.
  • Wow. A lovely place to stay. Clean, decoration perfect, relaxed and lovely nights sleep.

  • What a lovely and beautiful lady Roz is. The room was lovely and clean and the home was immaculate. Tea, coffee and offer of breakfast with even some biscuits and water waiting for you. If I'm in ilfracombe again then I know where to go. Couldn't recommend higher and added bonus of a rooftop area to sit if you'd want into the evening. Thank you Roz

A Victorian family home with plenty of character and uniqueness. We welcome families too and hope they enjoy the home cooking and arts and crafts we produce. A great base for seeing the beautiful sights of North Devon and right by the coast.

  • Nice and comfortable room. Was perfect for a stop a Combe Martin while hiking the Coast Path.

    Nelly2020-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • Nice clean characterful period house close to beach and village handy for exploring the North Devon coast. Good value. Nice toast, good bathroom facilities. Sarah and John are friendly and helpful. Just one problem … the mattress was hard with a noisy cover and a dip in the centre.

    Sarah2019-10-24T00:00:00Z
  • Very well located for SW walkway with excellent hospitality. I arrived wet and muddy and they had all my gear washed and dried ready for the next day.

    Andrew2019-10-12T00:00:00Z
  • A really beautiful home filled with gorgeous art pieces that add so much character and warmth! The room was spotless and incredibly comfortable to rest up in during a week of hiking, plus a great breakfast in the morning. The location was also perfect being only a short walk to the beach, shops and Coastal Path - can’t ask for more!

Traditional 1 bedroom, single storey cottage in the pretty village of Lee and on the South West coast path. Short walk to stunning Lee Bay with a pub and beautiful secluded beach. Within short driving distance of Morthoe, Croyde, Woolacombe and Ilfracombe. An ideal base for walkers to explore the North Devon Coast. A well behaved pet is welcome too. Parking for one car. No phone signal in the cottage. Potential for noise as attached to a family home. One of their bedrooms is above ours.
  • Lovely place, clean and spacious. Peaceful location, highly recommended.

    Gemma2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great retreat for one or two people - the place is clean, has everything you need, warm and good facilities including a dog proof garden (which I very much appreciated during Storm Dennis). The location is great - I did a 9km walk all around the Mortehoe headland and back overland with a good pub lunch stop, and would have gone even further in better weather, no need to use the car. As the host makes clear, there is some noise from the bedroom of the other house, but this is just someone walking across the floor and up some stairs so not major.

    Sara2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely weekend, really comfy, warm and just a quick walk down the path to Lee beach, I would definitely recommend this fab hide away

    Katie2020-02-03T00:00:00Z
  • This is a lovely cottage, it has everything you will need! The kitchen is extremely well equipped , utensils, pans etc. (dishwasher and a proper freezer too!) the spacious lounge is cosy and has a log burner , the cottage is so lovely and warm we didn’t need to use it .The bedroom has adjacent bathroom with instant hot water! The small utility room has a washing machine and a dryer which was very useful ! Lovely small outdoor garden for our doggies to run around. We enjoyed a beer and a glass of wine at the local pub , The Grampus, a lovely pub with good food! (1 min walk) The little cove in Lee is authentic (5 min walk) lots of rocks and seaweed , our doggies loved exploring! Great walks along the cliffs . We have had had a holiday thank you Jeanette x

  • Lovely cosy cottage, perfect for a few days away from real life. Lovely little village, lots of wilderness to explore and the cottage and facilities were perfect.

    Laura2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • A well equipped and beautifully clean, cosy little cottage in idyllic surroundings. Parking is outside your front door which makes life easy. A fenced garden is superb if you take your dog. Ideally situated - five minute walk to the beach and lots of coastal walks, 2 minute walk to the pub.

    Martin2019-11-22T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely cozy little place, full of character, in a beautiful location. Great walks & pub close by..... Clear instructions & good communication. Highly recommended! As reported upstairs were a tad noisy one night but I came prepared....

    Jo2019-11-09T00:00:00Z
  • Had a lovely stay at Seal Cottage. It is a central location to where we wanted to explore. The space is comfortable and warm. We did find on one out of our three nights that there was a lot of noise above the bedroom - but it did not hinder our stay. The Grampus pub is a short walk from the cottage and is a lovely and friendly local with delicious food and live music (on Fridays).

This stunning detached Victorian house was built for an Admiral & retains much grandeur. Built into the hillside it commands wonderful views, and being south facing is bathed in sunlight all day. The SW coastal path runs along the back of the house, so you have easy access to cliff top walks. There's 1/2 acre of terraced gardens at the house, the nearest beach is a 5 min walk, 15 min stroll to the harbour - the house is in a great location. Ilfracombe is full of independent eateries.
The Quarry is owned by an artist and furniture designer. The interior is filled with handmade furniture, original art, a full library and vintage finds. However it's a very comfortable place - many guests remark on how homely it is. It was our home for 4 years & is furnished as such. We spent a good few years restoring the house, rewiring & replumbing throughout. The original size of all the bedrooms has been kept - so they’re huge and all offer wonderful views. You'll find 2 magnificent family bathrooms, one with an impressive vintage claw foot tub, and 2 en suites. They are kept simple - wooden floors, bright paintings & vintage furniture. Great quality linen is used, with warm throws & hot water bottles for chilly winter nights. There are beds to sleep 13. The enormous sitting room/dining room / library has 2 pairs of original French doors leading onto a seaview terrace with table & chairs and stunning views. Its painted a gorgeous deep blue which contrasts beautifully with the bright St Ives school paintings & the white shelves full of books & games. The dining table can sit all guests, and there's plenty of seating in the sitting room. In the colder months guests can use the open fire here, there are always lots of logs in the conservatory. It's great for winter stays too. The kitchen 2nd dining area is a similar size, with a cosy AGA. The best quality appliances have been used (miele extra size oven, smeg dishwasher, big american fridge / freezer) guests always comment on how wonderfully equipped the kitchen is. There’s also a walk in larder laundry room. The owners can recommend 2 great caterers to help with cooking a wonderful masseuse who can come to the house.
Ilfracombe is a pretty, Victorian seaside town. It boasts a picturesque working harbour, many wonderful restaurants and cafes, and a fascinating local beach. Woolacombe Bay, with its 3 miles of golden sand great surf, is a 10 minute drive away.
  • We absolutely loved our stay at Kirstie’s house. We celebrated a surprise 40th birthday in Devon and the house suited us perfectly. Communication was great and the whole experience was easy and our stay comfortable. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a beautiful house in Devon to visit. I hope we’ll get an opportunity to return again.

  • Amazing house, fabulous location and a great host. Exactly what our group were looking for and it exceeded our expectations. The house was very clean and the little touches were very welcomed. Would 100% recommend staying here.

  • One of the best AirBnBs I’ve stayed in. The house is incredible, the location great and the amenities are abundant. Couldn’t recommend it highly enough. Perfect for chilled evenings inside or out; perfect for long walks and beach days.

    Alex2019-04-22T00:00:00Z
  • Kirstie's home is wonderful! Our group consisted of 10 adults, 4 children and 2 babies, and there was ample space for us all. The Victorian house has huge rooms, high ceilings, original features, fireplaces, a mix of contemporary and vintage furniture and everything you would need to cater for a big group. We particularly loved bathing in the roll-top bath, everyone fitting comfortably around the huge table in the open-plan dining and living room, opening the French doors, cooking in both the aga and oven, keeping warm and cosy by the fireplace and each family having their own space spread across the three floors. The house was exceptionally clean and it was easy to regulate the heating. Communication and details from Kirstie were swift and spot-on, and their housekeeper was always at the end of the phone if we needed her during our stay. We could easily walk to the small beach and harbour in Ilfracombe, and drive 10-20 minutes to Woolacombe, Putsborough or Croyde. Everyone adored the house and wish to return for another gathering. We would highly recommend this place.

    Amber2019-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • Thank you so much Kristie and Gaelle for such a fantastic stay! The home was beautiful- the sun coming through the windows in the morning and AGA stove keeping us warm through the night. Great games selection, movies, amazingly stocked kitchen, a beautiful restful bath, comfortable bed... everything! We would most definitely stay again.

    Hayley2018-11-25T00:00:00Z
  • We absolutely loved this house and would definitely come back. It was clean and spacious...we lived in luxury for the week! And the home made scones waiting for us when we arrived were very much enjoyed. The house is so conveniently situated too. We were in easy distance of Putsborough Beach (which is great for surfing), Coombe Martin (which is great for kayaking) , Lynton, Lynmouth & Valley Of The Rocks. This was a holiday home that we won't forget and would definitely return for another stay.

    Lorraine2018-06-15T00:00:00Z
  • Kirstie's place is spotless beautifully designed and even bigger than it appears on the photos! Wish we could have stayed longer to enjoy the roll top bath tub, but will almost certainly book again. Ilfracoombe is stunning with lots to see and beautiful coastal walks.

Light and airy upside down 1 bedroom barn conversion with parking and private seating area, on a 3 acre site, previously a working farm dating back to the 1700’s, but now only home to the owners and a couple of Shetland ponies. Located ideally for a quiet and relaxing break, but conveniently for Combe Martin, a short drive to the seaside town of Ilfracombe and within easy reach of Exmoor.

  • A terrific little apartment, ideally situated for our walking weekend. Spotlessly clean and very well equipped. Little extras of milk, cereals, spread, tea, coffee and sugar were much appreciated. Jo was very quick to respond to our messages and was on hand to greet us when we arrived. A great Sunday Carvery at the Pack O’Cards.... a great recommendation!

  • Amazing host such a warm welcome and very attentive threw out our stay, the apartment is so quaint and we'll equipped with everything we needed making our stay stress free I honestly would be happy to live there and will definitely be back... The host Jo also offers a sports therapist massage at an extra cost but I would highly recommend you take the opportunity to add this into your stay, I did and have never felt so relaxed she made the constant pain I've lived with for years just melt away. Thankyou again Jo

    Davina2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • Joanne's flat was lovely, the perfect little cosy place to hunker down for the weekend!

    Megan2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • I absolutely recommend Jo's place! I stayed for four weeks in October and had a wonderful time. It's the basement unit in her house, and it was perfect for one person. Two people would probably also love it. The ceiling/roof in the bathroom allows natural light in, and you can open up the backdoor (which opens onto a staircase) if you want some fresh air. That's all to say that, despite being a basement, it's better than your typical basement space. The bed and couch are both very comfy. There's a PlayStation with Netflix and a handful of DVDs and games, which are great if you're stuck inside on a really rainy day. Everything in the bathroom and kitchen met my expectations and was great for my long stay. The heat also worked well, although I did not need it very often thanks to the insulation. Jo is a tremendous host and made me feel right at home. I had plenty of privacy, but she checked in every now and then to see if I needed anything. It's exactly what I'm looking for in a host! She knows everything about the area, so she's also a great resource if you have questions about where to go, what to do. As to the location, it's right on the high street, about a ten minute walk to the beach and the main cluster of shops. There's also a grocery/Chinese takeaway and a pub that are even closer. I didn't have a car, but the bus stop is only about a minute away. You can also walk to Ilfracombe (about two hours) along the coast path or some pleasant, quiet country lanes.

  • Brilliant location in quite no through road and 5 mins walk to Wetherspoons! Car park easy to find as Ilfracombe is known for not having enough private parking. Very clean, excellent size bedroom with modern bright large shower room on the same floor. Debbie was a lovely host.

  • I had a very relaxing stay at Debbie’s place. Debbie is such a warm friendly person. Her place is in a quiet area and in a very convenient location. The house is so cozy and clean. There’re everything what I need in the room. I’d love to come back to stay there if I have a chance to visit Ilfracombe again. Thank you, Debbie.

  • Phil and Lynn are great hosts. They are very kind, quick to respond, nice, and very welcome. The chocolate cupcakes were super delicious, we couldn't have enough, if there is more maybe we will not be able stop eating them. The house is so much better than the photos. And the view is really amazing, indeed more stunning than Phil has advertised. I will stay at Phil's again whenever I visit Ifracombe. Outstanding value.

If you are looking for a get away break, the location is spot on - brilliant local pub with many friendly locals, lots of walks nearby and stunning scenery. Phil and Lynne were very welcoming, and were very quick to respond when we had questions. Brilliant value for money, and we will be booking again!

    Andrew2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • What a wonderful place and lovely hosts This wonderful place is really peaceful with a lovely outlook across the valley. Phil and Lynne were very welcoming and left us a lovely cream tea for when we arrived. The place was spotlessly clean and excellently presented with everything we needed. They showed us around, explained how everything worked and although they were close by, they left us to our own devices. After a few days they sent us a message to see if we needed clean towels.

    Kim2019-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful view of the hills in Berrynarbour, from the garden patio, a very comfortable apartment, every thing you need and a welcome cream tea. Phil and Lyn are wonderful hosts.

  • We had a lovely stay at carols place, it was just me, my partner & our Labrador. The garden is huge and fully enclosed which gave us piece of mind for our Labrador. The cottage itself is lovely and cosy. We was welcomed with fresh bread, milk & wine which was a lovely touch. We will definitely be returning.

  • Really recommend this lovely cottage, lovely added extras to make your stay special. Carol is very welcoming. Lovely comfortable stay for a break away. We used it to walk the south west coast path, it’s a great spot for this.

  • Cobblestone cottage was a delight to stay in - super clean , lovely welcome pack of bread, milk, fudge & wine & a beautiful enclosed garden which my dog loved too! Plenty of tips on where to eat, walk the dog or visit in north Devon as well. Carol was a great host & we definitely recommend a stay here! Thanks carol !

  • Carol’s place was more than we could have hoped for. She gave us simple, clear instructions to get there. The cottage was clean and homely, with added extras like homemade bread and fudge. Carol had prepared lots of recommendations for walks, pubs, amenities etc. We even found lots of fun board games to play. Our dog Sammy thoroughly enjoyed his stay, and the treats carol had left for him. 10/10!

We overlook the harbour and has fabulous views of it and Damien Hurst's Verity. Watch the ships, fishing boats and occasionally dolphins! Beach, harbour, bars and restaurants only a five minute walk away too.. You’ll love my place because the apartment is tastefully furnished and has a really spacious light feel to it.We provide most things to help your stay be an enjoyable one. Relax on the balcony with a glass perhaps. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, and business travellers.
The apartment is private and has no shared space. It is accessed on the ground floor (which is up a few steps to the door) and the central stairway leads up to two other private apartments in the building. The bedroom is at the rear, and although it doesn't face out to sea, it has a very sunny outlook as it's south facing. The bed is comfortable and there is a TV too. In the wardrobe, you'll find an iron and ironing board in case you need one. The doorway from the bedroom leads to a private decked area, where you can enjoy the sunshine (hopefully) and eat outdoors if you wish. The beautiful and spacious sitting room has aTV with Freeview and there is a DVD player and you can access Netflix and so on. The views from there are pretty special. There is a very comfortable sofa, a dining table which seats 4, a recliner with footstool and fabulous views over the harbour, with Damien Hirst's Verity and across to Wales. There is a monocular provided to watch the boats . The beautifully decorated bathroom has a bath with shower over. Towels and bathmat provided and kept warm on the towel rail. The kitchen is well equipped and well-appointed and should have everything you need - including a dishwasher, so that's another job made easier while you stay. If you're using the oven, please use the foil provided, as it saves me having to clean it every two days. I'd really appreciate it being left in the same condition you find it in.
It's only a 5 minute walk down into the harbour, and from there you can find pubs, restaurants, galleries and so forth. The High Street is also very close by. There are beautiful walks, around Ilfracombe itself or along the coast - west towards Lee over the Torrs, then on to Woolacombe if you're feeling energetic, or along to Watermouth Cove and Combe Martin to the east. There are wildlife tours on ribs which go from the harbour (and are just great fun - bouncing over the waves, but not getting wet in the process) and out to Lundy. Ilfracombe has a really good music scene too. Check out the Pier for great live music. On Sunday afternoons, the Sunny sundays live music and the Pier is really fun.
  • Stylish apartment in a great location with harbour views. Well equipped. Can walk to high street shops in about 10 minutes.

    Judith2020-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful apartment, very light and airy with lovely touches in every room. Apartment was spotlessly clean and there was even tea, coffee and milk after my long journey from Yorkshire. Will definitely stay here again!

  • Finding an airbnb in Ilfracombe with parking is like finding the holy Grail! Perfect for relaxing after a busy day out exploring. Would definitely stay here again.

  • We were attending a wedding at The Tunnels and stayed here for a couple of days. It’s a 10 minute walk from the centre in a quiet residential area with easy parking at the front door. The flat itself is really lovely and pretty much perfect for a couple. Communication with Ingrid was excellent and the whole process from start to finish was seamless. She allowed us to check in slightly earlier than scheduled to get our glad rags on before heading down to the wedding, we really appreciated that. I’d highly recommend this great little flat to anyone.

This is a modern 2 Bedroom Log Cabin at Manleigh Park in Combe Martin on the edge of Exmoor between Lynton & Lynmouth and Ilfracombe, roughly 5 mins drive from the sea. The Cabin itself sleeps up to six people with 1 double room and 1 twin and a cosy sofa bed. The bathroom has a bath with shower over, basin and WC, there is also an open plan living/dining and kitchen space. The Cabin is of solid wood construction, well insulated and perfect for a short break or longer holiday any time of year.
Manleigh Park is our home, it's a small holiday park owned and run by us with passion to give you the most relaxing peaceful holiday we possibly can. We've not lived here very long, but we knew as soon as we saw that view along the valley for the first time, that this was where we wanted to be. We'd love you to come and share it with us for your holiday. We have a lounge area with an informal bar to enjoy a fresh coffee and home made cake, a local cider maybe, or even some artisan West Country gin or vodka. The Wicked Wolf Gin is distilled just up the road at Watersmeet and Tors Vodka isn't too far away. Pizzas are available from our bar top mini pizza oven. We have an excellent 4G reception, WiFi is currently available in the bar area only, the password changes periodically but is always written up on the bar.
North Devon has so much to offer through all seasons. The moor, the beaches, the villages, all ready to be explored and enjoyed from your own private base. We are within striking distance of the Tarka Trail and numerous other footpaths and bridleways. Surfers can head to Croyde Bay or Woolacombe, paddle boarders and kayakers need just wander into the village. There are golf courses within a 10 minute drive, lots of local horse riding opportunities, ther's even an Alpaca herd on the other side of the vally, not forgetting the Dinosaur Park. Fishing enthusiasts who've stayed with us say there is excellent local angling and lake fishing. Combe Martin itself is a lovely coastal village. We have at least 4 pubs (opening hours vary seasonally), numerous shops including one that makes and sells the best fudge (in my opinion anyway), a friendly deli (the best mince pies at Christmas), mini supermarkets and a lovely bay and beach with rock-pools. The village is on the South West Coast Path offering spectacular views whichever way you walk.
  • Hosts are very amenable and efficiently professional. Bar a fantastic addition- great wine, gin and ambience. Easy walk to Coombe Martin

  • Great cottage overlooking a perfect little town, our lodge is was super clean, modern and comfortable. Perfect hosts, the dog in the check in, was a big hit with our kids! Pizzas at the camp restaurant were delicious as well as reasonably priced. Excellent all round!

    Marijana2019-08-30T00:00:00Z
  • Our log cabin was spotlessly clean, comfortable and peaceful. We had tea and milk left for us to start us off, which was such a nice touch. The site is absolutely gorgeous with great views over to Combe Martin and the sea. The bar area was so friendly and welcoming - served great and reasonably priced pizzas and a good array of drinks. Steve, Judith and Baxter were great hosts. We loved the fact it was such a quiet and relaxed site and would love to return.

    Kim2019-08-28T00:00:00Z
  • The log cabin was sparkling clean and in a lovely location on a quiet holiday park. Great bar/lounge area on site serving pizzas and ice cream. 15 minute walk to the village and 30 mins to the sea. Good location for visiting Exmoor and Ilfracombe.

  • A little 'gem' of a holiday park that doesn't feel like a 'holiday park' at all! Peaceful location, great facilities (modern, clean, spacious) and a lovely, cozy bar on site.

    David2019-08-22T00:00:00Z
  • Manleigh Holiday park is in a great elevated location overlooking Combe Martin. We stayed in a log cabin which was spacious and had all the necessary amenities for 4 adults + 1 baby. Very good value for money compared to other accommodation available in the area on our dates.

    Oli2019-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • Great communication from hosts, lodge on arrival was really clean and Manleigh Park as a whole seemed to be run fantastically. Hosts really welcoming especially in the bar, food was incredible and suprisingly our daughters dietary requirement of dairy free wasn't too much trouble if not easy as options were available with very little fuss. Manleigh park not difficult to find and close to Coombe Martin and other attractions.

There is no need to worry about bringing a tent and putting it up in the rain, Glamping is a new stylish and modern way to enjoy the outdoors in a more convenient and comfortable way. All pods are timber built, include electric, lighting and heating, designed specifically to be an alternative option to camping out in a tent. They include outside decking and table and chairs with a fire pit to keep you cosy. Don't forget to bring all your camping gear including your air bed to sleep on!
Our newly refurbished Toilet and Shower Block is located close to the Pod's are are included in the price. All booking's of three nights or longer receive our free Sunset Surprise Treat Hamper. Strictly no pets allowed.
Nestled in our beautiful green valley of Hele Bay, surrounded by nature. Local shops and pubs are within walking distance and the harbour town of Ilfracombe is only a five minute drive, with lots of things to see and do.
  • Lovely campsite in quite location. First time ‘glamping’ but needed all our camping equipment, apart from the tent. Big advantage over canvas is that you don’t get the dew from clear September nights. Fire pit most welcome.

  • Really nice camp site

  • Perfect little get away!

  • We loved our stay in the glamping pod! Very cosy and comfortable. The facilities onsite are very clean and it’s one of the nicest camping sites I’ve been too. There is a heater in the pod which was really helpful after a day of surfing to help dry out our wetsuits! We couldn’t recommend this place more (don’t forget to bring a bed). Thank you for a lovely break!

    Laura2019-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • Great site. Close to the sea, clean, friendly staff, good amenities.

    Greg2019-08-08T00:00:00Z
  • The pods at Hele are fantastic - it's a great compromise between camping and expensive glamping. The site is wonderfully kept and welcoming. The local towns and beaches are blissful.our favourite memory is roasting marshmallows whilst watching the sun set over the hills. Thoroughly recommended!

    Hele Bay, England, United Kingdom

With arguably the best views in Ilfracombe in one of the best locations, this is an open light space with balcony and large sash windows facing over the Bristol Channel. Step outside the building onto a quiet no-through road and you are then mere minutes away from the Harbour, where you can catch a ferry to Lundy, or see Damien Hirst's statue of Verity, walk on to Fore Street with its many restaurants, head to the Landmark or up to the High Street.
The open kitchen, living room and dining area all faces out towards the Bristol Channel. With one double bedroom also facing over the Channel, and a double bedroom (with en-suite) and a kids room with two single beds, this is the perfect apartment for walkers, bird-watchers, day trippers to Lundy, surfers exploring the North Devonian coasts, or young professionals wanting to get away from the city life. The location is on a quiet road, but you are moments away from the hustle and bustle of this working harbour. Restaurants, cafes, bars, and ice cream shops are on your doorstep, with amusements and crazy golf around the corner. Don't fancy heading out? There are books to read, DVDs to watch, or board games to play - and that's all only if you don't have the patience to watch the tides, and look out for the dolphin pods, or the inquisitive seal poking its nose in the cove. This isn't your sleek hotel flat, but a cosy, homely apartment with a fantastic view.
It's a no-through road off a working fisherman's harbour. Safe, peaceful, but close to the thick of the action if that's what you are looking for! Take a 5 min stroll to Verity - or check out the sculptor's restaurant, also nearby, with Damien Hirst's Number 11, the Quay.
  • This place is perfect....location,size,equipment,style, and the View..omg...I stood watching for hours, watching in the daytime, then ...listening to the sea at night,in bed, with the window open....best thing ever.

  • Fabulous apartment with the most amazing sea view. Very warm and comfortable, very well equipped and clean. Highly recommended !

    Sonia2020-02-23T00:00:00Z

    Rachael2020-02-12T00:00:00Z
  • Well equipped flat with beautiful views, can't wait to come back.

    Amy2020-02-07T00:00:00Z
  • This flat has outstanding views of the Bristol Channel and the North Devon coastline. The floor-to-ceiling window fills the rooms with delightful light. It was a pleasure to come back here after a day of sightseeing!

  • Great location for a stay in Ilfracombe, lovely views and very clean and stylish place to stay. The only minor downside is parking in the area is very limited, but a minor inconvenience for such a nice place to stay.

    Garry2020-01-27T00:00:00Z
  • Great place, great location, will stay again if possible.

    Tony2019-12-23T00:00:00Z
  • WOW! I highly recommend that you book in! The views are INCREDIBLE! Food for the soul, that's for sure! The flat is completely and utterly lovely. The pics are great, but don't do it justice. The bed I slept in (the one with the sea view) was sooo comfy, and to wake up to that view in the morning... well... what can I say.... Blissful! Lovely bedding and towels are provided. The kitchen is really well equipped. The flat is in an amazing location and, due to the time of year, I was able to park right outside. For non-winter months, or if there are no spaces, there are a few car parks really close by. Sam responds really quickly to messages, and provides lots of very useful information. Going out and getting utterly battered by the wind and rain, then going home for a lush hot bath, having a mug of hot chocolate (followed by vino, of course!) whilst looking out of the window was exaaaactly what I wanted from my few days away. It was perfect! I was very tempted to change the lock and move in :D BOOK IN!! You won't regret it :D THANK YOU, Sam, for sharing such a wonderful space :D xx

There is a separate modern shower/toilet room, shared with additional cabins: Mole and Toad Hall. Mains water and electricity, kettle, electric heater and wifi. Beds can be arranged either as twin or double. Great for hikers, with its location just off the Southwest Coastal Path, and an Ideal retreat to unplug for a while. Trevor provided everything we needed and vey kindly offered us lifts to and from Ilfracombe as we came without a car. Perfect little escape from the city!
