Places to stay in Wensleydale

Places to stay in Wensleydale
Set high on the rolling hills of 80 acres The Wensley is a bespoke timber, architectural house & shed built from recycled Oregon and Ironbark. The Wensley is a haven of peace and serenity in a secluded but central pocket of the Surf Coast Hinterland called Wensleydale - offering you a chance to chill out and stay put or explore The Great Ocean Road and surrounding countryside with complete privacy. 1.5 hrs from Melb, 20 Mins Birregurra & Brae, 25 Mins Aireys Inlet
, 15 mins from Moriac & Winch.
** Stage 1 COVID19 Policy - As Wensleydale is not a permanent residence - we are still open for bookings - we are taking additional cleaning measures wiping down all surfaces, handles & taps as well as leaving a night between each booking as a safeguard against germs. We have reduced our pantry offering to Salt, Pepper, Oil and Nespresso pods.** When you hire Wensleydale, you have exclusive access to the 80 acre property and use of the house & shed. Maximum occupancy is 10 guests - with 5 beds in total. Two bedrooms down stairs - and a spacious loft bedroom upstairs housing ground level bunk nooks. The house has been designed, constructed and decorated in great detail. Bringing the outside inside the high ceilings, floor to ceiling windows and natural finishes create an airy, uncluttered, beautiful space to breathe and escape the trappings of city life. In summer you can choose to turn on the fans, open the floor to ceiling window-doors and enjoy the breeze of cross ventilation. Or shut the house up and turn on the aircon in extreme temperatures. In winter curl up by the fire and read a book. The lounge, dining and gourmet chefs kitchen are open plan offering panoramic views of the surrounding countryside. The living area’s feature is the concrete chimney, poured in-situe, and home to a chimenee phillippe which heats the house in winter. Sink into our sofas and watch the sunrise with a coffee or the moon rise with a red wine. There’s no TV in the main house but in the pigeon holes on the way upstairs you’ll find a serious stash of wine glasses and a great selection of books and boardgames. You can log on to the wifi, download the sonos app and listen to your favourite tunes on our Bose soundsystem. Cook up a storm in our fully stocked kitchen and host a fabulous dinner party (table seats x10). Concrete benches, fully stocked walk in pantry with gourmet essentials, nespresso machine, microwave, commercial grade cookware, microwave, dishwasher, Falcon gas stove and electric oven are perfect for creating your favourite meals. Enjoy the use of the Kitchen Aid, rice cooker, wok, mandolin and our extensive collection of chopping boards (which we love to use as platters). Eat outside on either the sunrise or sunset deck - depending in the time of day. You’ll sleep like a log in our luxurious beds and beautiful linen surrounded by all the wood! Both downstairs bedrooms have the choice of either memory foam pillows or goose down king pillows. We use a combination of 100% linen and Actil First Line Cotton sheets (with a muslin weave) for the ultimate sleep. The master bedroom is home to a generous pillow top king bed. You’ll fall asleep to the sound of frogs and wakeup to the stunning view of our neighbours damn. And if you’re lucky you might see a fox sneak down and try and poach some duck eggs. Make yourself at home and unpack into our walk in robe (which is also where our cot & change table currently live). The 2nd downstairs bedroom has a pillow topped Queen bed and is dusted in the dulcet tones of calming blue. This room completely blacks out which is perfect for an epic sleep in! Our downstairs bathroom is home to the most luxurious natural stone tub which is ideal for long soaks…perhaps with a book or a vino! The window/door opens up to our sunset deck where the outdoor shower and galvanised french bath tub live. Take one of the lanterns from the entry and shower or bath under the stars at night. Our loft bedroom is home to three ground level bunk nooks - two Queen beds and one King. Although all in one room these beds still offer a small amount of privacy from one another. With an ensuite with shower and toilet this is the perfect retreat for kids or … the guest who arrive last! The shed houses a laundry and breakout area with a TV for emergecnies such as The Grand Final, Aus Open or teenage meltdowns. The Wensley is suitable for children of all ages - we have a cot, highchair and kids table for guest use. As the house is built entirely out of timber the chance of splinters is quite high - especially for those crawling! Unfortunately pets are not permitted. The Wensley is available as a location for shoots - please contact us for a specific day rate for this purpose. PRICES - Our base price accommodates x4 people (two couples) in two beds. Above 4 people it's $50 per person per night. Our base price does vary depending on season and day of the week. Rates include • All quality linen and bedding • Full kitchen including full size oven, cook top, microwave, dishwasher kitchen aid & rice cooker • Toiletries: Quality soap, shampoo and conditioner, toilet paper and hairdryer • Gourmet Pantry supplies along with a variety of teas and coffee, Nesspresso machine, milk, oil, salt, pepper, cling wrap & foil • Ample wood and fire set up (winter months) • Central heating and cooling along with ceiling fans • Weber BBQ • Flat screen LCD TV located in the shed for emergencies such as The Grand Final, Boxing Day Test or Kid meltdowns. • Sound-deck (Bose/Bluetooth) • Books, magazines and games • Wi-Fi access - Optus best mobile option - Telstra has only one bar of reception in the middle of the carport. • Cot, highchair & kids table set up available on request. • Laundry; washer and dryer located in the shed
Wensleydale is the Gateway to the Otways & The Great Ocean Road. There is so much to explore and do. Whether it's close to home - or further a field. WALKS 1) You can walk to the back of the property and climb the fence into state park. And take a look around. There are old dirt bike trails in there you can explore - however given it's so hot this week you will be watching your step without boots. 2) You can walk easily enough down Casboults road and explore around there without worrying too much about snakes. I'll be surprised if you see one but they are around. 3) Further A field are these walks in the Otways Erskin Falls is a good one for a day trip. https://www.visitotways.com/walks-and-waterfalls/ 4) One of my favourite walks is down by the clifftop at Aireys Inlet (20 mins drive) - if you go to the lighthouse at Split Point https://goo.gl/maps/Kmnv97NsxcecmeKXAthere's a coastal path that leads off the carpark and down alongside eagle rock parade - you'll have to have keen eyes to see it. You can then find your way down to Sunnymeade beach if you want to go that far https://goo.gl/maps/emqbgaUMPGiLX2Dz9 BEACHES 1) Fairhaven - the most beautiful beach along there https://goo.gl/maps/5pG2QDDZEjhL2yVq9 . My ultimate day is a beach trip either morning or arvo followed by lunch or dinner at A La Grecque (closed Mon / Tues) or the more casual Aireys Inlet Pub https://goo.gl/maps/LdcU7PFqFxmyoETe9 2) Sunnymeade - https://goo.gl/maps/5pG2QDDZEjhL2yVq9 HORSERIDING 1) Blazing Saddles Horseriding at Blazing Saddles 25 min drive https://www.blazingsaddlestrailrides.com/ they do great rides on the beach down at Fairhaven. 2) Tess & Leo Great for private and group lessons and about 15 minutes from us - make sure you book ahead https://www.tessandleo.com/ If you want to go for a bit of a drive you can always go and see the 12 Apostles - which are stunning. I would go at sunset though. Or an hr beforehand. It is SO stunning at that time of night. EAT / DRINK BIRREGURRA (20 mins Drive) Yield Birregurra Stunning Paddock to Plate which got a write up in the Good Food Guide. Run by Simon and Kara. https://goo.gl/maps/Rpq3qAyypdkfMBhm9 Otway Artisan - in Birregurra - has great coffee and is a gluten free bakery in the Main Street, that also has great sandwiches and cakes. • A well overdue long weekend away with friends - and we chose Fran’s beautiful home In Wensleydale. From the initial booking through to checking out, Fran was available for any questions or hints we needed to make the most of time at The Wensley and the local area. The home is just has described - spacious, rustic, warm and stunning interiors. What a spot! We will be back!

  • The Wensley is amazing. Everything about the house is gorgeous. The view and surroundings are breathtaking. This is the best house I’ve ever had the pleasure of sleeping in. Would highly recommend to anyone who is looking to relax, unwind and unplug. I hope to visit again. Thank you Fran, your hospitality is second to none.

    Madelyn2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Go and visit! To get away from the world but still be close enough to the small towns, beaches, beautiful walks and cows. The level of detail in the space and the proper cooking utensils and tableware, linen and of course the view. Exceptional experience.

    Rebecca2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Definitely one of our favorite places. Stunning views and cozy house! Thanks for hosting us!

  • We had the best time at Charleson farm with the family for our birthday feast. The property is beautiful with the sweeping views and the house is comfortable and a great layout for groups with kids. You could not ask for better hosts John and Maria where excellent communicators, they really care about their guest experience and went above and beyond to make our weekend perfect. We will definitely be back for more of that view, cozy fire and the goats, the kids really loved feeding the goats. I would recommend this place highly to those looking for a relaxing weekend away. Thanks so much for having us!

  • You won't be disappointed. Such an amazing place, with breathtaking views. Hosts were also outstanding. 5 stars.

    Kieran2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Charleson is a very nice place to spend time with friends and family, to enjoy a countryside weekend or more! Maria and John have been great with us! Totally recommend it!

    Marine2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Our family stay was a huge success. We were celebrating my husbands 80th birthday and we wanted all the family under one roof. We played games which were supplied. Told stories about our lives as youngsters. Many laughs a few tears and much love. The setting was incredible. Dusk and dawn were spectacular.

    Connie2020-02-04T00:00:00Z
  • The place was incredible and the owners communicated really well.

    Mehmed2020-02-01T00:00:00Z
  • It is a very big house with complete facilities, but it is a little far from the Great Ocean Road. It is a good place to experience the scenery of the farm. Unfortunately, it only took one night to sleep, which is suitable for many people to play together.

    Lynn2020-01-28T00:00:00Z
  • The farm is awesome, full of facilities, clean and bright, the surroundings are very good, and all kinds of small animals. I saw three kangaroos passing by at dinner.

    YangYang2020-01-27T00:00:00Z

    Debbie2020-03-29T00:00:00Z
  • We had such an amazing stay, thank you for the bubbles, they didn't last long. The Forrest view was spectacular and I think big sue felt like a real dog surveying the land. Thanks again for sharing your yurt, was quite a birthday surprise, even rummikub boardgame made it out of the car! Would love to come back & stay again

    Julie2020-03-27T00:00:00Z
  • It's such a gorgeous place with an amazing view. The view down the valley was exceptional and we spent most of our time on the deck. Felt very secluded and relaxed and had a perfect getaway from the daily hustle and bustle. It was a unique, beautiful, fascinating place and we enjoyed every minute of our stay. Bring plenty of food so that you don't have to leave the place during your stay 😁 Had everything we needed. Cosy, clean and full of handy amenities. Loved the library too. Caroline was very helpful, easy to reach and communicated everything clearly. Checking in and out was easy. Overall it's a hidden gem. Worth the stay. We love it and would love to come back again soon. One of the best places we have been to. Definitely recommend the place. Thanks Caroline 😊👍

  • We loved our time at Will's place. Will was an exceptional host, very accomodating and provided us with everything we needed. We loved the very unique set up, and the camp fires at night. It was a very relaxing stay, and very enjoyable for our 14 week old pup. Will's wine was also amazing, highly recommend!

  • What a gorgeous, gem of a beach cottage! The place is spacious for a couple, modern and stylishly done. There's everything you need for a comfortable and fun stay, kitchen very well equipped and there's also an outdoor barbeque and lovely garden with an extra outdoor shower! The best part is the location which is literally a short walk down a beach path to a secluded and stunning beachfront, you can walk a little way to a more sheltered swimming beach or just enjoy the privacy of the waves and watching the surfers. Shops, restaurants and supermarket a short drive away. We enjoyed every moment of our stay and wouldn't hesitate to return :-)

  • Our stay at Yan Yurt Farm was a treat. From the warm welcome we received on arrival, the walk around the farm, our visit to the Cobb house (a must see) and chatting around the camp fire with new friends. A cosy bed at the end of a long day followed by a delicious breakfast next morning consisting of home made muesli, freshly baked bread, fruit, and yoghurt. The farm has been in the family for 6 generations so you will get all the information on the local area from Jill and Andrew. The home itself is a comfortable homstead style, spacious and rustic with creature comforts. Ideally located a short drive to Lorne and the Great Ocean Road.

Learning about their 115 year long history on the farm as well as the farm tour was a highlight. The entire family is very dedicated to the environment which was great to see. Definitely recommend staying here, something different from the typical Great Ocean Road stays!

  • A very good place to be for just some days when you need a break or also for a longer stay.

  • This is a working farm and if you want to learn about sheep farming and experience rural life this is the place for you. Great hospitality, good breakfast. Quick to respond to emails and gave good suggestions about local attractions. Would stay again.

  • We enjoyed two great days at Yan Yan Gurt. The hospitality of Jill and Andrew is exceptional. We felt very welcome at their home. Their way of living and managing the farm is very inspiring. The room is cozy and the shared kitchen clean and well equipped with everything you need. The breakfast that Jill and Andrew provide is just a perfect start into the day: fresh peaches from their trees, organic yoghurt and bread, jam, butter, etc. We definitely recommend everyone to stay their - it is a perfect place for making unforgettable memories.

  • Jill’s farm is about 1 hour driving from Lorne and we caught one of the most amazing sunset on the way to the farm. The stay was really cosy and Jill welcomed us warmly, it is perfect for road trip and people like farm stay.

  • Jill is a wonderful host with a friendly demeanour who made us feel very welcome. The room was clean and spacious with a comfortable bed. We shared the bathroom with the family but at no time did we feel uncomfortable. There were ample options for breakfast that Jill had put out for us and she also has an awesome tea mixture that she makes herself. This is a working farm and we appreciated everything that Jill provided.

  • Andrew is an accommodating and welcoming host. Nothing is too much trouble and he goes out of his way to help you with local knowledge and things to do. The room is clean and modern with excellent facilities. The rooms are small but more than adequate for a couple. Can't rate Andrew's kindness and advice highly enough. He's a gem.

A cosy light filled self contained studio in the trees. This property offers the perfect opportunity to switch off in nature, and is ideal in both summer and winter.
Anglesea is a very special place, surrounded by spectacular natural beauty in its coastline, beaches, and bush. The Anglesea Heath is also one of the most biodiverse ecosystems in Victoria. The Shack is cosy and comfortable in both warm and cooler weather, and makes for the perfect lo-fi experience, where you can unwind and relax in nature. The light filled, self contained Shack is set at the very back of our block amongst the trees, about 20 metres from our house, where we live permanently. There are fences on 3 sides of the shack, for your privacy. The Shack is open plan, with a small kitchen, one queen size bed, a lounge and a bathroom. The kitchen is set up with a bar fridge, an induction cooktop and basics for cooking. There's a split system for heating and cooling. On the deck you will find a bbq. Linen and towels are provided, but we ask that you bring your own beach towels. We have a very friendly and well behaved Border Collie called George. He goes to work with Drew on weekdays, however he will be at our house on weekends and weekday evenings
The shack is in Anglesea, a beautiful little town on the Great Ocean Road. It’s a great base to explore the stunning coastline around Anglesea, or further along to Lorne or the 12 Apostles. The shack is located in a quiet and bushy area of Anglesea, just near the golf course, famous for its huge mob of eastern grey kangaroos. It is around a 2 km walk down to beautiful Anglesea beach, Point Roadnight, the river, and playgrounds. If you’re keen to spend time outdoors we have lots of information on hikes, bike rides and things to do in surrounding coastal and inland towns. The main street is a 5 minute drive away, where you will find coffee shops, bakeries and the supermarket. If you’re new to the area, we have made a list of all our favourite places to eat and drink and will leave this out for you.
  • We had an amazing time at Catherine and Drew’s place! The property is gorgeous, we felt like we were in our own little world while being so close to everything. We were greeted upon arrival and kindly taken up to our shack, (even though it was dark) by George the pup- could not have asked for a gooder bellboy :) We very highly recommend staying here! The only downside was that we couldn’t stay longer.

    Georgia2020-03-22T00:00:00Z

Located right on the river and a short stroll to the beach, lighthouse, cafes and restaurants. You’ll love sitting on the deck with the river view or the private courtyard to enjoy the birdlife. Purposely built for a couple or solo traveller, (sorry no children or infants). The kitchen is well equipped to cook or relax in the spa bath. Great for holidays or weekends. I have taken the recommended additional steps to reduce the spread of infection as part of my enhanced cleaning routine.
The lounge/kitchen or outdoor deck is a perfect spot to relax, watch a movie or enjoy the beautiful view of the river and hills beyond. Many people walk along the river or fish just opposite, such a popular spot, the envy of anyone not staying.
Water views without the crowds but you will love to see others enjoying the river.

This house feels a lot more than an hour and a half from Melbourne. Once you've disappeared down its drive, you're invisible to even the quiet cul-de-sac road on which the house sits. A bank of native bushland, filled with honeyeaters, superb blue wrens and kookaburras shields your back, while at your front - are views to the ocean. Nestled on an acre of bushland which we have painstakingly planted out, is the wonderfully serene 'Bullaroy'.
The house is divided into two halves, connected by internal stairs. The upper half is living, dining, kitchen with a huge balcony. The lower level looks out on to more garden and houses the bedrooms, bathroom and laundry
Aireys Inlet is a gem on the Great Ocean Road. It isn't too busy and yet has everything you'll need - great pub, fine dining, general store... even a fabulous bookshop.
  • Very relaxing and secluded home in bush surrounds, with a view through the trees to the ocean. When the surf was up we could hear the waves crashing on the rocks a short walk away. A very light filled, open, clean and also practical place to stay with kids and a dog. I could have sat on the deck reading for hours, watching the king parrots and cockatoo do their rounds of the various houses! We walked along the beach to the lighthouse, chatting to locals with their dogs, then wonderful scones at the lighthouse cafe, followed by lying on the deck reading while the kids played with the box of lego provided. Magic! We'll be back.

  • Had a very relaxing time at Bullaroy Beach House. Exactly what we needed!

    Paul2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Bullaroy is about as close to perfect as a holiday house gets. it’s our favorite getaway place and we can’t wait to go back again.

    Gavin2020-02-06T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our time here and it was hard to leave this special place. The house itself acts just like a beach house should - aesthetically appealing, practical and unfussy with a big back deck and plenty of windows facing the sea. The bushy block is surprisingly secluded considering the location - we’d forgotten how good (and rare) not seeing neighbours is! We swam, went rock pooling, walked in the national park, ate daily ice creams, drove to Lorne - all are close by.

    Jacinta2020-01-25T00:00:00Z
  • Tosca’s place is quiet and secluded with views to the ocean and surrounded by native bush. Shops, pub and beach are a short walk away. We had a very relaxing stay here and would happily book again.

    Michael2019-12-26T00:00:00Z
  • We are multiple return visitors to this oasis of calm. An incredible, peaceful home with space for all in the bush, yet so close to the sea. The outdoor warm shower is so good.

    Madeleine2019-12-21T00:00:00Z
  • We had a beautiful week at Tosca's beach house. The views to the ocean were stunning and we loved the native garden which attracted prolific birdlife. The split level design of the house was very practical with bedrooms sited on the lower floor allowing for a cool and quiet sleep. We enjoyed the walkability of the home with ready access to several beaches and the local shops. Highly recommend.

Quiet semi rural location - close to town - 10 min riverside walk to cafes, shops, historic sites.
The main photo is one of the three rooms that we have available. The guest rooms are situated towards one end of our comfortable neat relatively modern home. The house is situated on 5 acres, close (but not too close) to the edge of town. It's only a 1 minute walk to the Barwon river with a short shady walk to shops.
Our home faces onto a small natural reserve and is only 1 minute walk from the Barwon river and walking tracks and cycle paths. Our neighbors are few and far between but they are always happy to stop and chat. Local pool is only a 5 minute walk away. Pool is open 12-6pm every day in summer. BRAE restaurant (famous for its chef and organic cuisine) is 20 minutes drive. Major beaches Bells Beach, Point Addis, Torquay, Anglesea, Lorne are within 35 minutes drive. Geelong with its waterfront, shopping, arts and entertainment precincts is only 35 minutes drive from here. We recommend people take time to look around Geelong before heading out to Winchelsea. From here visitors can drive the Great Ocean Road in a day - from Torquay to Peterborough and back - having time to take in the major attractions - Erskine Falls, Apollo Bay, Johanna Beach, Otway Fly, Cape Otway Lighthouse (and its Koalas), the Twelve Apostles and Loch Ard Gorge. Some people just keep going to Warrnambool and beyond - but for those with limited time this is a good place to start, stop and rest, before heading off to Ballarat or back to Melbourne.
  • A great setup with the guest wing being at one end of the house. Great for kids with toys supplied. The beds were super comfy!

Great to have the fridge and tea, coffee and biscuits and the bed was extremely comfortable. We got a guided tour of the outside space including their fantastic lavender circle. Mark gave us some great tips for our drive along the great ocean road. Many thanks.

A beautiful Bush block, with wildlife all around. Super clean and comfortable inside, you have all the creature comforts you need for a weekend away. Thanks for having us.

    Lily2019-05-12T00:00:00Z
  • This was a perfect couples’ getaway! Lovely location, and nice amenities. The bed was really soft, and the fireplace heated the house effectively (despite going out very often if you don’t pay attention to it). There’s no pictures of the bathroom, but let me put you at ease by telling you the composting toilet is spotless and the water in the shower is hot! They provide towels, shampoo, bath mats and so on too.

    Ayontika2019-05-05T00:00:00Z
  • You have to visit this place if you are looking for tranquility, wildlife, comfortable spaces, cleanliness! Highlights for us was the campfire and stargazing. Kangaroos in the morning were also a nice greeting. We are definitely going back.

30 acres of magnificent Otway Forest just 15 minutes from Lorne. Attractions include our walking track with creek and scenic views. Enjoy our native parrots and kangaroos. This place is great for family holidays or a couples getaway. Each cabin has its own special views, wood burning BBQ and outdoor setting. All cabins are set far enough apart to maintain privacy. Secluded, romantic getaways or just peace and quiet at a budget price.

  • What a beautiful spot nestled under all the trees! Close to other hideaway cottages but still very private. Phil and Chris were fantastic and gave us some great local tips! Would come back any time!

    Claire2020-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay at Phil and Christine’s place. Phil is so friendly and knowledgeable about the local area, with great tips on where to eat. The property is gorgeous and plenty of local wildlife to keep you entertained. Nice to switch off and enjoy the bush. Thanks Phil and Christine!!

    Gemma2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • Such a stunning location! Phil is a delight - he is so positive, helpful & and just an all round top guy. If you love nature & being surrounded by beautiful birds, roos & wildlife, the cabins are for you. The cabins are very clean and fully functional. Only a 15 minute drive into Lorne centre - one night Phil arranged return taxis for us which was super helpful. Would definitely recommend as it is such amazing value for money!

    Liss2020-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • It’s a nice spot over there - to be in the middle of nature, but with all the basic comforts inside the cabin. A short drive to Lorne for a morning coffee or evening dining. Best suited for those who want to almost completely retreat from the noice and distractions of modern city life. Even Internet is not available, unless on the bad mobile network connection.

  • Really nice place, is super recommendable for everyone thinking of going here.

    Ezequiel2020-02-07T00:00:00Z

Your Studio is stylish with a touch of class and simplicity - much more than a motel suite at a great rate. A fantastic modern s/c retreat right on the river. Purposely built for a couple or solo traveller(sorry no children or infants) Stroll to the beach, lighthouse, cafes, restaurants or Pub. Perfect for a relaxing beach holiday/weekend or a start to the Great Ocean Road. I have taken the recommended additional steps to reduce the spread of infection as part of my enhanced cleaning routine.
The studio's queen bed and self contained facilities and location are perfect for a couple. You can walk to the beach, cafe's shops or sit back on the deck and enjoy the view. (2 night min over a weekend unless last minute. Long weekends are 3 nights and Easter, Melb Cup and Peak summer are 4 night min.)
Aireys Inlet is peaceful but enough going on to enjoy its offerings. Close to Lorne if you like a bit more hustle and bustle and shopping. Our beaches, cliff top walks and river views I think are even better.

  • The container was perfect for my husband and I. We find shipping container architecture quite cool and enjoyed the experience of staying in this unique room. It was affordable and a good place to unplug. The communal areas were great with the toilet/shower block just a short stroll away, which was no problem for us. We had some outdoor adventures in the local area like exploring beautiful Point Addis and Bells Beach and sitting around the fire was a highlight. In about a 10 min drive we checked out cute cafes and shops in Torquay and Anglesea, but looked forward to returning to the container to escape the weekend crowds. Birds, trees, comfy bed, fireplace. Thanks Rene and Jason for a lovely weekend.

We are situated on 200 acres in the foothills of the Otway ranges, and are surrounded by the Otway forest. There are kangaroos and king parrots residing on our land, and there are beautiful nature walks on and around our property.
We are half an hour from Lorne beach, one of the most scenic beaches in this part of Australia, and the Great Ocean Road; and there are around a dozen amazing bushwalks and waterfalls a short drive away.

We couldn't find a light outside by the car park and the light above the front door wasn't working). Everything was set up for us when we arrived. Heaters in living area and in the room so was nice and cozy. For our stay it was perfect. Thank you.

  • We went with a family for a weekend stay, it was amazing place n had great memories over there. On Sunday afternoon, we were there for Keertan and feast as well. Met wonderful nice people, very blissful after the Keertan and saw healthy Desi cows. The only issue is very poor signal and no internet, tv. I believe everyone there for a specific reason, so no issue with signal at all.

  • Rod and Sandi’s cute retro caravan was such a cosy little place to stay! It made our few days away more fun than if we had just stayed in a house or apartment. The property is in a lovely location too, we saw kookaburras, cockatoos and a beautiful king parrot, among lots of other bird and wildlife. And Rod and Sandi were such wonderful hosts. Really made our stay comfortable and memorable. Highly recommended!

  • Rod and Sandi were delightful hosts. They were super friendly and accommodating and catered to our every need. The caravan was presented as described; cozy but with all of the features we were looking for in a "glamping-style" beach holiday on the Surf Coast. A very short cycle / walk / drive to the beach and shops made it all very convenient as well. We have no hesitation in highly recommending this place.

  • Who knew that behind all the vines was a little hideaway delight. The cabin was amazing, nothing short of amazing and something I could see myself living in. I was a little disappointed that I did not work out there was no oven or microwave but it did state "off the grid" so my bad. I just found another way and that is what living off the grid is all about. Loved the big shower room, not so much the outside toilet at night, fireplace perfect and the little white comfy chair that allowed me to stare out into the vineyard and bush till I could no more. It is the BEST place to unwind and rest.

    Gillane2020-02-13T00:00:00Z
