Places to stay in West Forks
The River House is located in downtown West Forks near Berry's Store. Plenty of room for snowmobile trailer parking and a huge backyard right on the Dead River. Intersection of ITS 86 and 87 across the street, easy trail access. Six restaurants within five miles, also accessible by trails. All new bedding, mattresses, appliances, and furniture. Summertime- Close to whitewater rafting, hiking trails, & fishing. Big backyard great for lawn games, fire pit for nightly campfires.
  • You won’t be disappointed! This is a beautiful house perfectly situated to ride the trails! There were 16 of us with a baby and nobody was cramped at all! Everyone was so easy to deal with and very accommodating! We had a great stay!

  • I recently stayed at the River House while rafting the release on the Dead River for my best friends bachelor party. The house quickly became the center piece of the trip. Its located very close to a lot of rafting companies, there is even a little shop across the street that sells any items that we forgot to bring. The house was very spacious, and allowed us to watch the rise and fall of the river release right out of our window. We even rafted right by the house. I highly recommend this the River House.

  • Laura’s home is not only beautiful but in an absolute perfect location. My group was there to raft, hit the local bars and eatery’s and this home is within perfect walking distance to everything we needed. I mean even the take out for the rafting was a 2 min walk down the street to the kennebec! If you haven’t stayed here before, your missing out. The House is within 50’ of the river, a lovely fire pit within 10’, a great porch, plenty of parking and nothing better than the clam movement of water through the river rocks to lull you to sleep at night. So accommodating, so kind, an amazing location in the heart of one of the northeast’s most beautiful, pristine destinations. Trust me, you won’t be disappointed and will wish you never had to leave!

  • The River House is a serene log home right on the river. The house is incredibly comfortable and well set up for families and large groups looking to raft, hike, fish, or just chill by the river. Great location, great home!

  • Awesome place, very close to rafting. Gorgeous views

    Marissa2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • This is one of my favorite places to stay. We had a group of 10 and there is plenty of space for everyone. The home was clean and large, plenty of parking for trucks trailers and atvs. Good spot for large groups with 3 private bathrooms. The west forks is one of my favorite places in Maine to go. Grand Falls and Moxie falls are a must see. The are two of Maines Largest waterfalls. (approx 10 minutes to moxie falls) (30 min to grand falls via dirt road) Its also fun seeing the white water rafters float by yard. You can see them from the back deck) There is so much to do in this area. We only stayed 1 night this time but will be booking again next year for a 2-3 nights . Thanks again- the langone Family

The location is perfect to experience all that Maine has to offer!

All the the amenities were great. Communication was superb. Easy, quick drive to Sugarloaf mountain, local eateries and market. Beautiful Riverside Studio/above garage apartment, private, remote, semi-secluded. Located on the Kennebec river. A roomy studio with a view of the Kennebec river, feet from the river's edge. Also close to the Appalachian Trail crossing. Surrounded by woods and bordered by a crystal clear stream. If you're into the outdoors this is the place for you. Hiking, biking, fishing, whitewater rafting right outside your door.
large, airy, bright and comfortable, the perfect place to stage your outdoor activities or just get away
small riverside community, friendly people, surrounded by woods and water
  • Mike and Kim were incredibly kind hosts, and the apartment is super clean and cute. The property is a gorgeous setting right on the Kennebec River -- my husband and I were in town for a wedding so unfortunately didn't have much free time, but would love to come back and stay at this great place and utilize the canoes. October was a stunning time to be there with the foliage. Highly recommend and hope to be back.

  • Great stay

    Nathaniel2019-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • We have stayed in this unit many times and will do so again in the future. Mike and Kim are great hosts and have many personal touches to the unit.

    Patricia2019-08-29T00:00:00Z
  • Not only was Mike’s place clean (and smelled clean!), it was homie (which some Airbnb’s struggle with). Absolutely loved this place. Highly recommend for if you’re rafting the Kennebec or need a peaceful getaway. One big selling point was the AC. Seems like none of the cabins for the rafting companies have them and it really came in clutch. Please please please check out the river even if it’s for 10 minutes. Go down there and just sit by the water, close your eyes and enjoy the silence. It was absolutely beautiful and would go back if we’re ever up that way again. Don’t look past this Airbnb seriously.

    Joe2019-08-19T00:00:00Z
  • For a Maine woods experience, this place can’t be beat! A very well stocked, spacious apartment off the beaten path.

    Susan2019-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely gorgeous place. Their private area on the lake supplied with stand up paddle boards and canoes was the highlight. Everything you could need inside and very comfy king bed. Would love to come again soon!

Beautiful Riverside cottage, private, remote, semi-secluded. Located on the Kennebec river. A roomy one room cottage with enclosed porch with a view of the river and the Appalachian Trail crossing. Surrounded by woods and bordered by a crystal clear stream. If you're into the outdoors this is the place for you. Hiking, biking, fishing, rafting right outside your door.
Large one room cottage with an enclosed porch. The main cabin has a double bed, the enclosed porch has two singles. During the day, these singles are a great place to relax, read a book, or just take in the river view. A roomy kitchen, with everything you could need. The full bath is also stocked with towels, soap, shampoo, etc. and has a stackable washer and dryer for your use.
We are in the middle of an outdoor enthusiast's paradise. Next to the applachian trail, we have tons of day hikes close by, mountain tops, views, or waterfalls whatever you're looking for. Whitewater rafting is the big summer industry here, there are several outfitters located within 5 miles of our place. Fishing right out the front door, either in the lake, the river or in the stream that borders the property. There are biking and walking trails as well. We are glad to offer suggestions, or show you around.
  • Rent this cabin... You won't be sorry!! Beautiful spot on Kennebec River. Felt secluded, but not too far out there. And having Kim & Mike close by for any need was comforting. They completely respect your privacy & time, but are readily available for any need. I thought it was very sweet that they set up a Pack n'Play for us knowing we brought our 15 month old! And Mike gave us a gate for in front of the fireplace & a bag of toys (since we stupidly forgot to pack toys...) He was just so thoughtful!! The cabin has a notebook filled with detailed information about local hikes, fishing spots, restaurants, etc., And I'm sure Mike would give you any additional pointers if asked!! The kitchen was stocked with everything you need!! I was able to cook many meals during our stay! The bed was extremely comfortable & little reading nook leather chairs too. One if the best things was how clean this place was.... Sparkling. Just adds to your comfort! You won't regret staying here!

  • Mike was a great host. River was amazing, fall leaves were in peak color, and the cottage was just what we needed.

    Ben2019-10-16T00:00:00Z
  • This cabin was just amazing. Location was spectacular in the woods right on the river. We watched bald eagles all day. We saw beavers swimming by and caught alot of great smallies. They had beautiful setting by the river to just sit and relax. The cabin was just perfect the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in. You literally could not lay on the bed without dosing off. The kitchen had everything. The bathroom was super clean and roomy. We will definitely be back it was a amazing romantic get away and next time we may bring our girls because it was just that great.

    Jimmy2019-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • Mike and Kim’s camp was just what we were looking for and more! They thought of everything so we lacked for nothing! An amazing space with views and sounds of the Kennebec, a fully appointed kitchen and bath, wood for the heating stove if we wanted plus a nice heater on a thermostat if we didn’t. The bed was like sleeping on a cloud. The lawn on the river is a great place to kick back in the Adirondack chairs and watch the Bald Eagles fishing, then jump in a canoe and paddle about. The gas grill on the porch cooked some excellent steaks and asparagus one night for us. Kim told us about Thai food at the Hawks Nest, but we loved the camp so much we got the food to go and enjoyed dinner there again. Having the washer/dryer in the cabin was a real bonus too! What a super place and great hosts! We were kinda choked up when we had to leave, but hope to be back next year.

    John2019-09-10T00:00:00Z
  • What a wonderful spot! The house, the grounds, the breathtaking views and wonderful hosts- this place is perfection! Thank you

    Nicole2019-08-28T00:00:00Z
  • Mike's place was awesome. It was clean and well appointed with everything you might need. The river front was beautiful and great for fishing and kayaking. For us it was a short ride to our rafting trip (Crab Apple) and restaurants (Hawks Nest Lodge). We also loved the use of the fire pit on our last evening there. Highly recommend!!

    Matthew2019-08-25T00:00:00Z

This "camp" is located on Wyman Lake directly off Rt. 201, approximately 8 minutes north of Bingham. A large 1 bedroom 2 bath home boasting a large shoreline. I am currently taking extra precautions during the coronavirus. For all bookings, I will block the 3 days before and after your stay. This way I can give the rental 60+ hours before I enter to clean and also so I can guarantee that I am the only person inside the rental 72+ hours prior to your check in.
Please note we cannot provide internet at this location. Check with your cellphone carrier if wifi is a necessity before booking. We do have dish TV. This is a pet friendly home but in an attempt to keep the cleaning fee affordable for all guests, only one dog is included in the cleaning fee. Up to 2 dogs are allowed at the rental, an additional $20 fee will be charged for a second dog. I provide extra sheets to put on any furniture your dog uses. If your dog sleeps in the upstairs bed and it is left covered in hair, I will add a $10 laundering fee. If the dog damages the quilt, it will be a $30 replacement fee. The rental is hard wood floors. I ask that you do not leave pets home alone outside of a crate.
  • Great stay would stay here again for sure

This small, quaint cabin brings you back to the basics. Not fancy or pretentious, but far more comfy than camping on a cold ground. You'll have what you need, a warm bed, private full bathroom, small fridge, microwave, use of gas grill, campfire pit and all amenities of the sporting camp Pine Grove Lodge.
While here, get outdoors and look for moose and other wildlife, hike to Houston Brook Falls (1/4 mile,) canoe/kayak or use the beach at beautiful Wyman Lake (1 mile,) and relax by your own campfire or visit the communal fire to get to know other guests. Maine Guides are available with services like fishing, fly fishing lessons, canoeing/kayaking, ATVing, private Wyman Lake cruises on a large pontoon boat, and backcountry Jeep 4X4 excursions!
This is a rural area, called Pleasant Ridge Plantation, 4 miles from town, on the edge of complete wilderness but still on pavement. An area rich with logging and sporting camp history, it is a very safe place to relax and enjoy the beautiful scenery while walking, biking, boating, or even getting into the deep woods on a guided Jeep tour. The town of Bingham has a well-stocked grocery store, Dollar General, 3 gas stations, and a few eatery choices.

Typical 1890s Victorian has character. Modern kitchen & downstairs bath, rest of the house has period details & mix of antiques & newer pieces. Hardwood floors throughout. Comfy beds with plenty of quilts & old-fashioned wool blankets. Old books to peruse or pull out the Scrabble game! Step back into the past - No TV or cable, but there is a flatscreen TV with a good selection of movies. Wifi, too. Ext security cameras. PLEASE NOTE: limited cell phone reception - AT&T & TMobile = NO reception!
This old house is full of character and history. It is located in a quiet residential neighborhood, yet close to "downtown." I can be your tour guide, as time allows.
This house is located in a quiet residential neighborhood, yet right on ITS-87. It is one block away from our "downtown" area, and walking distance to several churches.
  • Nice person and nice place

  • Baker House B&B was such a great place to stay! Our room was cozy and Diane is so accommodating with anything you may need. All the amenities needed were there for us in our room, and the shared bathroom space. Every space was super clean. In the morning, Diane had breakfast ready with a lovely table set with OJ, coffee, and our choice of banana and walnut pancakes ( she reached out ahead of time to see what we may want - amazing!). Diane also has pictures and knows all the history of the house, and we just loved all the thoughtful touches of keeping the space true to its original look. We just loved our stay at the Baker House B&B!

    Emily2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Diane’s hospitality is unmatched! She brought a warmth with her care and conversation that is much appreciated in the frigid north country. Her 19th century home had all the modern amenities that we could ask for all the while sticking to its rustic character. We used the Baker House as a home base to ski Sugarloaf mountain and hike the Maine Huts and Trails. We would highly recommend location and Diane as a host.

    Brian2019-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • Diane has a wonderful home. She is a great conversationalist and host. She also makes a great breakfast and is open to menu options in case there are dietary needs.

  • Very nice and very well kept. Nice home and a gracious host. Had a great stay there and would defiantly stay there again.

    Kevin2019-10-09T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful house and a very nice hostess. For nature lovers, the area is breathtaking, especially in the sunny autumn.

    Abdelmalek2019-10-02T00:00:00Z
  • We were driving throughQuebec City down to the coast of Maine and needed a place to stop and spend the night. While we were at Diane’s, enjoying her company and the company of some of her young students, my husband became ill. She guided us to the nearest hospital and stayed in touch with us during our hours there. I came back from the hospital to spend the night with her and she made sure I was comfortable and the next morning filled me with outstanding pancakes at her dining room table. She went beyond the usual responsibilities of a hostess. And her accommodations were comfortable.

Riverside condo minutes to Sugarloaf! One-bedroom condo just a few miles from Sugarloaf and the Outdoor Center. Just steps from trails for hiking, mountain biking, and skiing. Look out over the river while you grill on the back patio and enjoy a Maine beer! Also next to a popular restaurant and bar. One note- the cell reception in Carrabassett Valley is not good. That makes it a great place to get away from it all, but not a good place if you need to make important phone calls!!
  • We were headed up north to enjoy a weekend of skiing at Sugarloaf. The location was great and just 10 minutes away. Easy access to the mountain just turning right out of the driveway and left onto the access road. Aubreys place was easy to access, clean and comfortable. She even left a surprise for us when we got there. This place was perfect for us to ski all day, come back take a quick nap and be ready for dinner and some drinks after. Aubrey directed us to some local establishments that were pleasant and had amazing food. We really liked The Rack BBQ.

    Albert2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • It was very comfortable, everything I needed and easy proximity to the mountain.

  • The condo is in a great spot to access Sugarloaf and the surrounding restaurants and activities. It was very clean, cozy, and perfect to come back to after long days of skiing. Audrey was a very thoughtful host, as well. We had a really lovely weekend in Carrabassett Valley

    Sarah2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • Audrey's place was exactly as described. Really great and easy location for skiing at Sugarloaf and enjoying the Xcountry and hiking Trails. A real bonus to be next to the great restaurant Tufulios. The condo is simply and nicely furnished and sparkling clean. It was quiet and cozy and warm and plenty of space for two people. Check-in and check-out are super easy, and Audrey responded almost instantly whenever I had a question. Great value. We'll come again.

    Henrietta2020-01-04T00:00:00Z
  • Audrey was quick to respond to all of my texts and messages. She had thoughtful touches that made us feel welcome. The location of her apt is perfect for all year around. We stayed here in the winter and it was about 15 mins away from sugarloaf skiing. We also got our skis tuned up at Happy Tunes which is across the parking lot. I suggest bringing food since Audrey has a full kitchen with a large fridge. She also has an awesome grill. The set up was cozy and warm. I highly recommend her place and having Audrey as a host.

Misty Morning Cottages is directly on Moosehead Lake with amazing views of Mt. Kineo, the Spencer Mountains and much more! Our location is one of the best fishing destinations for both open water and ice fishing seasons because each of our cottages are just steps away from Moosehead Lake!
Cottage six offers a cozy and comfortable, studio-style living space. Everything you need is at your fingertips. This area is outfitted with a double bed, a fully equipped kitchenette and a private bathroom with a standup shower. Our heat source is a thermostatically controlled propane monitor heater.
Moosehead Lake is the largest lake located in one state this side of the Mississippi! During your stay with us we encourage you to explore as much of the 100 sq. mile lake as you possibly can! If you're patient and keep your eyes peeled you're likely to sneak a peek (or a photograph if you're lucky!) of a Moose, Deer, Loons, Bald Eagles and Otters while you're here!
  • Wonderful cabin literally on the water. My husband and I stayed there for a few days in October to get back to our home state and enjoy the foliage, bird hunt, and cook our favorite unhealthy foods. The cabin was very cozy and warm. The bed was comfortable. The stove /oven was brand new and the kitchen had everything we needed to cook full meals. The shower was small and old but it’s a camp and the good water pressure and temperature made up for it. Misty was very welcoming, came right out when we pulled in. She was very flexible about check in, much more so than other AirBnB hosts who require very specific check in times. She even gave us a map of local hiking trails. Otherwise gave us our space ! The cabin is right by the road in the back but you don’t hear any traffic. Really wanted to use the campfire and picnic table but it was raining. Would definitely stay here again!

    Jennifer2019-10-18T00:00:00Z
  • Misty and Joe were great hosts and so easy to talk to. They were very knowledgeable about the area and always offered great advice about hiking and things to see. The cabin was very clean and exactly as advertised.

  • We so enjoyed out 3 nights in #6 - a studio cabin, just big enough for the two of us. Very cozy and private - we were at the end of the row. Loved the view, and sitting out on the deck hearing the ripple of the water. Misty was very vivacious and friendly, and there when we needed her. Love the ducks, too! It was great to explore a different part of Mooshead Lake, the Rockwood area.

  • Our stay at Misty Morning Cottages was well worth the trip. Great hospitality and knowledge of the area and it's wildlife. Cottage 6 is cozy and romantic. Joe and Misty are respectful, helpful to each guest, making it a safe and fun place to stay.

  • The place its outstanding, there is a few cottages there, parking right in front of your cottage. Great view, within minutes from gas station/ convince store, snowmobile rentals and fishing. We didn’t fish but we had a blast snowmobiling. There is hundreds of miles snowmobile trails in the area. The cottage itself has all the necessary items. Joe is great, very friendly and he is happy to explain what’s what in the area. I would definitely recommend this place.

  • This cabin was what you imagine a cabin in the peaceful woods of Maine to be. You get that rustic feeling while also having all the comforts of home included so you don’t have to pack them. Friendly neighbors, great outdoor space, and a comfortable place to relax. We were attending a wedding up the street for the weekend and loved the convenience of this location to the Maine Lakeside Cannons. Lots of things to do in the area as well. We loved our time here.

    Ashley2019-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • Cute rustic cabin! Easy access to rafting companies and not too far from a grocery store in Bingham. There was a gas grill and fire pit in the yard, along with a large picnic table. Cozy loft accessible by ladder. We were there during a rare heat wave and the cabin was comfortable, especially at night.

My place is the perfect location for couples, solo adventurers, small families (with kids) or big groups (we also have two other rentals to accommodate really large groups!), and furry friends (with a pet fee).
Landing 1 has a comfy living area with cable TV. We're sure you'll be spending your time in the enclosed porch area viewing the Moose River or Moosehead Lake though! You probably will prefer to cook outside at the fire pit or on the gas grill; but if you must cook inside, the full kitchen includes microwave, toaster, coffee maker, utensils, pots and pans. The 2 bedrooms accommodate 5 people comfortably. There is a 3/4 bathroom.
Moose River in Rockwood is known for its fantastic fishing as is Moosehead Lake - we are the prime location!

  • I think I can echo just about every good thing I read in all the reviews so far. Dana was an excellent host! We stayed for 4 nights and really enjoyed it. This cabin is very nice -- a real 'cottage/camp' with lots of charm. As one reviewer had said, it had plenty room and was quite pleasant to relax in if you were dealing with a rainy day. The spot on the lake is great, with sunshine at various parts of the day, and shade as well. We swam off the dock, kayaked, and enjoyed the outdoor firepit on several nights. Even fired up the free-standing gas flame stove in the living room on some chilly Maine mornings -- great ambience and it kept us cozy and happy. Greenville itself is a nice town with lots to enjoy. We took in an acoustic duo concert at the gazebo one night, did the Katahdin Saturday night dance cruise with a great band and a fun crowd, and enjoyed visiting several of the shops.

We really loved the fire pit and the kayaks. The kitchen was nicely stocked with all the cookware and dishes that you need. Plenty of hot water- all 4 of us were able to take showers in a row without running out.

  • What an amazing few days! Beautiful cabin with amazing views -- just the peaceful getaway my sister and I needed. The cabin is the perfect size and has everything you need from kitchen supplies, cozy bedrooms, huge windows overlooking the lake, awesome family room & kitchen table, and the best part being outdoors sitting in adirondack chairs overlooking Moosehead Lake -- there wasn't an ounce of stress in my body. Dana was amazing as a host -- top notch communication and ensuring I had the best stay possible. Would recommend 100% and would love to come back.

  • Book now for your next family snowmobile trip or lake get-away! Gretchen is great with sharing details, answering questions and providing local suggestions. The cabin was clean and spacious, but cozy and comfortable! The couches and beds are of great quality for resting and sleeping. The cabin is located conveniently by the trail, lake and town. But quiet enough to feel far away. We stayed 7 nights (family of 4) snowmobiling and touring. No regrets from our family!!

    Teri2020-01-03T00:00:00Z
  • Had a wonderful visit at this cabin! Small bit plenty of beds. Loved the gorgeous woodwork. We had everything we needed and the host responded so promptly. Loved how close to town we were! Great stay.

  • What a hidden gem this was. We were looking for a place to sleep up to 8 people in the town of Jackman and was difficult. We found this house and took a chance on it making sense for our group of guys who go hunting every year around Veterans Day. We were 100% satisfied with every detail of the place. We only had 6 guys ultimately show up for the trip and it comfortably held us all. The view out the front windows was stunning looking over Wood Pond. Gretchen's Place is outfitted with canoes, Kayaks, Ice Fishing gear, Snowmobiles; anything you may want, or just relax on the deck with your favorite beverage. Thank you Gretchen for making our annual family hunting trip another success. We'll be back next year!

    David2019-11-12T00:00:00Z
  • Great location on the lake. The house was clean, and the owners were easy to work with and very responsive to my questions.

    Joanne2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • We chose to stay in Jackman because we wanted a “staycation” away from home. What a great time we had just sitting in the beautiful deck listening to the loons and watching the sunsets. A hummingbird flew up and hovered in front of me just checking us out. If you get up early, you can watch the eagles fly from the trees and swoop down onto the lake. There were three sets of binoculars provided which was nice because one person in our party is quickly losing her vision to macular dystrophy. My cousin’s on in law took his 5 year old daughter out in the canoe and she caught her first fish, a bass, that her dad threw back. She was thrilled! And he took his 2 year old out in the kayak. There were life jackets provided but he brought us own for the kids. We just loved stargazing and saw a momma moose with her two babies. We would love to come back to Jackman and relax and get away again and Moose Point would be our FIRST choice. A lovely home. A beautiful view. Great amenities.

    Sue2019-08-29T00:00:00Z
  • Great camp with a nice view over the lake. Inside was super clean and had plenty of room for our 2 families on our atv trip. Parking was limited but adequate and the camp is walking distance from town. Overall a great weekend! Owners were super to deal with and extremely accommodating.

    Scott2019-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • A very nice place, we really recommend it! Gretchen's explanations were top! We took a canoe on the lake just in front of the house, we really enjoyed our stay there!

    Celine2019-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • This is a lovely spot on the lake. Great views of the lake, quiet, and a fantastic spot for our family to use as basecamp while going rafting on the kennebec. Don't hesitate to book. Gretchen was very responsive and the place was spotless. We really enjoyed our stay and will be back! Look for the eagle in the tallest tree by the front door....it was there every morning.

My place has spectacular views of Moosehead Lake as it is located at the mouth of Moose River in Rockwood, Maine. Be at the heart of fishing, hiking, boating! You’ll love the expansive 120' boardwalk and free boat docks located on the property as well as the outdoor firepit and gas grill. This is the affordable spot for your summer vacation! We are pet friendly as well.
  • Great location and friendly people!

    Daniel2019-08-05T00:00:00Z
  • The camp was all we expected and perfect for the two of us. The host was very responsive to all communications. The road traffic was a little loud from the early morning logging trucks.

    John2019-07-24T00:00:00Z
  • Awesome location! Camp is quaint and had all the needed amenities. We were happy dogs were allowed and only required a onetime, small fee. Dennis was very helpful and prompt to get back to us with any questions. We will definitely be looking to stay at the camp again in the future

    Rick2019-07-07T00:00:00Z
  • Great camp! Simple but has all you need. Can’t beat the views of the lake and Kineo Mountain. It’s on the river right before the lake. Good fishing from the pier. The owner even gave me a lesson in fly fishing!!!

    Andrei2019-06-30T00:00:00Z

    Cecilia2018-07-07T00:00:00Z
  • This was a fantastic place for a family holiday. The cabin was perfect for the four of us and very comfortable. The location on the water could not have been better with a space to BBQ, sit or play on the lawn, and with our own dock for fishing, swimming, canoeing or just watching the sunset. Our hosts were so helpful and friendly - couldn’t ask for more. Can’t wait to come back!

    Jason2018-07-04T00:00:00Z

  • Stayed for a snowmobile weekend, very nice place. The hosts were great .

    John2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • My fiancé and I stayed the weekend to tour the area for potential wedding spots. We were accompanied by our 4-month-old daughter and we had such a great time. We were there just before peak foliage and the view of the lake against the turning leaves was absolutely gorgeous. Both the cottage and the property were clean, peaceful and everything was just perfect. Cyndee and Pete were some of the nicest, most accommodating hosts I've stayed with. Highly recommended!

    Amy2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • Charming and relaxing retreat. Needed some time to relax and unwind... perfect spot for it.

    Jared2019-08-29T00:00:00Z
  • Such a cute place. Cyndee and Pete are amazing hosts.

    Ashley2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • What a wonderful little spot, right on the water, you couldn't ask for much better access to the lake. The right balance of privacy, but with friendly hosts to sit and talk about the day with as the sun goes down. Lovely hosts, lovely place.

    Tom2019-08-21T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed our very cozy chalet and the beautiful view of Wyman Lake. Cyndee and Pete are great hosts and we enjoyed them.

    Rebecca2019-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • We really loved our time at Cyndee's cabin. Cyndee and her husband Pete were so friendly, hospitable, and made sure we had a great time. The cabin was roomy, well-stocked, and comfortable. The property was beautiful with great outdoor fireplaces, a big dock, and a special point overlooking the lake where we had coffee every morning. We used Cyndee's one kayak and brought a kayak and spent every day paddling the 13 mile lake. We saw eagles and loons on the lake and searched for moose sightings. There are amazing hikes nearby and numerous waterfalls. We have never stayed quite this far north in Maine and we loved how different and quiet it is compared to central Maine. I would highly recommend staying in one of the two cabins.

    Julie2019-08-08T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful place with a great setting and even better hosts! Pete and Cyndee even brought us out for a boat cruise our first day, recommended great places to go, and went above and beyond to make sure we had a great trip! Highly recommended

  • We spent a weekend at the Moxie Gore cabin in The Forks and it was everything we wanted and more! When we first showed up the code to the lockbox didn't work but the hosts were very quick to respond and resolve the problem. The location is excellent as it is only a few miles from the local store and bar/restaurant. We were also very surprised to find the cabin had cable and wifi! It also had plenty of room for all 8 of us to sleep comfortably. Our favorite part of the cabin was the screened porch and large fire pit out back. It made coming back from a long day rafting enjoyable and relaxing. Overall, the cabin was amazing and the host was awesome! We can't wait to go back!

  • This is our second time staying at Lady Slipper. This year we were able to sit around the fire pit, roast marshmallows and view the night sky. The kitchen has the necessary tools to make a decent meal. The shower has good water pressure. The Lady Slipper makes it enjoyable to be in the wilderness of Western Maine’s Kennebec River Valley. This sure beats camping!

  • Amazing views, beautiful warm and inviting home. Easy communication and check-in/check-out process. We had easy access to whitewater rafting with US Rafting and then checked into the local bar at Marshall Inn. Wonderful weekend and stay!

    Robert2018-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • Christa has a real nice spot here. Super quiet area, unbelievably clean/ clear pond, nice fire pit down by the dock. The cabin was clean and well prepared and I would absolutely be interested in going back.

    Nickolas2018-09-16T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful, new, spacious, clean and a great view. The water and view were beautiful and the house was a dream.

    Heather2018-08-19T00:00:00Z
  • Christa’s place in West Forks, Maine is very nice. Lady Slipper has comfy beds, beautiful stars on a clear night, live loon music every night and refreshing waters. I appreciate how much the Pleasant Pond community cares about the well-being of this special place. Here you can expect a warm shower, the ability to cook up a gourmet meal and get a good night’s sleep after hiking Moxie Falls or a strech of the world famous Appalachian Trail. We made memories with our family and friends who visited us at Lady Slipper.

Wyman Township is in unorganized territory located just north of Carrabassett Valley via route 27 , the Carrabassett Road.It is very close to the Appalachian Trail and the Bigelow Preserve. My favorite restaurant is 4 miles up the road , the Coplin House and Tiger Lily Bar. It is the best in the area. Just tried Backstrap Grill in Stratton and that is excellent as well. Grocery shopping in Stratton just another mile or two north is much more affordable than those close to the resort.Cell phone service can be spotty , it is mountainous and beautiful. You must follow directions , or use GPS coordinates with google maps to find the house. The door is around the side from where you drive in and we try and leave a light on for you.

  • I spent two nights here with my 13 year old son while skiing Sugarloaf. It was perfect. As described, it's a single large room with large bathroom; the kitchen is limited, so don't plan any meals that require cooking (but the Backstrap Grill is nearby and was great). Gas stove adds some heat and helps dry out boots. Highly recommend.

The place was spotless and the electric fireplace was a perfect way to make the place even more comfortable than it already was susan was quick to reach out to make sure we checked in alright and offered to give insight on any local knowledge we were curious about. we will definitely consider staying with her again.

Old Victorian home in residential neighborhood. Room is on street side of house, light traffic. Small room with twin bed, closet, drawer space. Full access to entire house. Walking distance to restaurants, library, historical society, and municipal rec area (with tennis & basketball courts). Ext security cameras. Great place to relax, also centrally located & close to white-water rafting. Out the door access to ITS-87. PLEASE NOTE: NO AT&T or T-Mobile cell coverage in this area, Verizon spotty.
All are welcome! This place has a lot of history, and I love to share what I know with guests. Pictures, and the stories that go with them are among guest favorites.
Paved sidewalks make daily strolls ever so enjoyable. Lots of walkers in this area, so be prepared for friendly conversation.
  • I visited alone at night before going to sugarloaf to snowboard. Diane was a wonderful host with a smiling warm welcome and very thorough in her hospitality. The neighborhood is right off the main road in town and quiet/ safe. Her house has lots of space and is very homey, typical New England style. It is a little cold at night but not bad with blankets. I woke up to the amazing smell of pancakes which were wheat, blueberry and very yummy! Coffee and tea also provided. Great place to stay if skiing at Sugarloaf, not a bad drive between. Helpful and clear house info provided and a whole pamphlet Diane has made with lots of info about what the area has to offer! Wifi is good in the rooms (I was able to stream without a problem). I highly recommend staying with Diane! :)

  • Breakfast was delicious and the bathtub was heavenly and exceeded all expectations, hopes and dreams. I slept like a rock! Very hard to get out of bed in the morning! The kitties were fun and entertaining and Diane’s hospitality and conversation were 2nd to none.

  • The place was easy to find. The room was clean and comfortable. A real feel of an old-style home makes it even more unique. There's a cute cat to welcome you who is really social. :) Diane is a perfect host and those Pancakes in the morning are just the things you want on a cold morning. Thanks Diane. Would surely stay here again !!

  • Diane was the best host you could ask for. Helpful and friendly. Respectful of privacy but there to chat about photography and sightseeing when I was free. Delicious pancakes. And her home was absolute lovely. So much attention to detail in the decor!

  • We, the whole group really loved the place. The house was really nice and clean with a whole lot of collectibles. Diane was really warm to welcome us in. We did rafting with the Northern Outdoors at the Kennebec River and it’s just 20 mins away from her place. Have a warm stay at The Bakers House. And don’t miss her pan cakes with for the morning breakfast.

  • I stayed with Diane for 12 weeks and let me tell you, this is a great place to stay. She is a wonderful host. Her house is incredibly clean, she is incredibly awesome to be around. She will happily show you the area if you are interested, will play scrabble with you, and makes wonderful breakfast. I can't recommend her or her home enough. She was always incredibly respectful of space and has a beautiful home to lounge around in or watch the storms on the deck. Thank you for such an amazing summer Diane and I will be staying here whenever I am back in the area.

  • Diane is a wonderful host! There’s so much history behind her house and I’m so thankful that she was down to talk about it. It also doesn’t hurt that she has the cutest cats 😺

  • My husband and I enjoyed our stay at Baker House. The location enabled my husband to section hike on the AT. We found Diane's place very homey and comfortable. She encouraged us to feel free to use all of the house. We thought the bed was comfortable, and enjoyed the deep bathtub. The bath is shared but we were the only guests . Whole grain blueberry pancakes were kept warm for us for breakfast...a nice treat. We enjoyed meeting Diane...she is very accommodating.
