Places to stay in West Fulton

Places to stay in West Fulton
Sunny Catskill mountain creekside retreat for folks who love to cook, meet the farmers who grow their dinner, hike, savor local spirits & read beside a fire. Please note: due to Covid-19, we are devoting extra attention to disinfecting frequently touched surfaces between stays.
Looking for air conditioning, ironed sheets, fast food and great shopping? Don't come. If you prefer to snuggle under an organic wool comforter while sipping mountain air from an open window; skinny dipping in a local swimming hole; staying in to cook after buying your ingredients from the farmer who grew them...If you like to read beside a fire, consider how a cricket's song changes with the temperature, or sip your morning coffee while dipping your toes into a mountain stream...If you would use your holiday time to ponder life's big questions, maybe with a few strangers-turned-friends; and if you prefer to tell your office mates that there's no cell service where you're going, we've got your dream vacation. Your holiday home is the second floor of the heartbeat of our little community, just above our post office and the Sap Bush Hollow Farm-To-Table Cafe, Farm Store & Espresso bar, open year round Saturdays 9-12, and Sat-Sun 9-1 for July and August. (Sorry. We can't stay open all week, 'cuz we're out skinny dipping in those swimming holes, too. But if we hear you coming, we'll get dressed and act nonchalant. Promise.) If you're into eating seasonally, this is great town to take advantage of the harvest. Sap Bush Hollow sells beef, lamb, pork, homemade sausages & bacon and poultry to bring home for your freezer. And you can buy tomatoes, cukes and all kinds of fruits and vegetables for canning, freezing & pickling just down the road. Coming in winter? We can point you to the best places in our vast network of state land to snowshoe or x-c ski. You'll have to drive about an hour if you're looking for downhill skiing. This is a great place to watch winter sunrises, or to behold the under-appreciated pleasures of mud season (no one's around. It's quiet. Frost on mud makes cool patterns....We could go on for hours about this.) The 3 bedroom 1400 sq ft apartment has a large eat-in kitchen/dining living room area, hardwood floors, gas fireplace, and a private back porch overlooking Panther Creek. We're serious cooks, so we've made sure your kitchen is equipped well.(Don't you hate vacation rentals with dull knives and no coffee grinder??). And when it comes to a good nights' rest, we've got you covered. Literally. The comforters, and blankets are made from our own fleeces, and the pillows are, too! Please note: Guests are asked to sign a contract agreeing to the house rules as they are posted in this listing upon making a reservation.
Welcome to West Fulton, a northern Catskill mountain hamlet where your neighbors care more about the freshness of their sweet corn than they do about cars and fashion. Come here for the quiet, the creeks, the swimming holes, the hills, the hiking and the farms. Nearest grocery store can be found in Cobleskill, 15 min. drive from your pad. There's also a movie theater, pottery studio and restaurants there...Also great restaurants and beer tasting room the other direction in Middleburgh, just 15 minutes in the other direction. We are 50 minutes from Cooperstown, and 20 minutes from Sharon Springs. The beautiful Hudson Valley is a stunning 1 hour drive, and Albany is 45 minutes away. Cobleskill Fairgrounds: 9.2 miles, 19 min. Windham Mountain Ski Center: 47 minute drive Hunter Mountain Ski Center: 51 minute drive Blenheim Hill Farm is 14 miles away, about 25-30 minute drive. Howe Caverns is 15.1 miles away, about 25-30 minute drive.
  • This place has it all- an absolutely cozy feel, lots of special touches like farm fresh eggs in the kitchen and amazing wool blankets, and it's near many nice hiking trails. It was the perfect place to relax, cook, unwind and have fun outdoors. I would absolutely stay here again or recommend it to anyone.

  • Beautiful place with a little park right down the street. The bathroom blew me away. Not saying the whole place didnt just wasn't expecting such an amazing looking bathroom

  • This was one of the best airbnbs I have ever stayed at, and for the price, definitely the best value. The space is very beautiful and very spacious. The amenities are extensive; there was nothing missing. The photos don’t do justice to the beauty of the interior; I am sensitive to good lighting and the lighting is very nicely designed. You will not be disappointed by staying in this wonderful spot!

  • such a cute apartment!

  • Sap Bush Farm AirBNB is first rate lodging in the most beautiful upland valley of Schoharie County. The associated Cafe offers an exquisite brunch and dinner on Saturdays. The refined hospitality and dining in the remote setting must be experienced to be believed.

  • This is our second stay and it was just as clean and comfortable as we remembered it. Highly recommended.

  • This was the fourth time I’ve stayed at Shannon’s place and it’s been lovely every time.

    Gene Schmidt2019-12-23T00:00:00Z
  • West Fulton is a hidden gem. The stuff you find in storybooks, really. And we had the most wonderful experience— made possible by Shannon and her lovely family—A hearty meal at the coolest cafe downstairs, amazing hospitality and the dreamiest stay in the apartment upstairs. The apartment was cozy, homey, and thoughtfully stocked with everything we needed and more. Our whole stay dreamy- From sitting by the living room wood stove, to standing out on the deck to take in the view of the running creek. What a sweet sweet place...

  • This is an amazing space and made for a very unique and memorable stay. The cabin is tucked away in the woods so we felt like we had complete privacy, even while outside enjoying the fire pit. Our visit was at the end of February, so there was snow on the ground but even so the cabin’s heater worked wonders and kept us warm throughout our stay. Yona and Elan were very welcoming and gracious hosts, greeting us with beers upon our arrival and helping us make sure the heat turned on, etc. We highly recommend this cabin for anyone looking to get out of the city!

    David2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Such a wonderful space. Elan was so helpful and attentive; even had warm cookies waiting for us! I’m really looking forward to coming back. Can’t wait to sit by the fire in the summer months, and give the outdoor shower a try! Thanks for everything!

    Lillien2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • This is an absolutely magical place to spend time. We went in mid-February for a long weekend -- although we were excited, we were admittedly a bit worried that we might be cold the entire time. Yona and Elan's space, despite our (needless) worries, kept us super warm and cozy throughout our stay, and their hospitality and little touches (greeted us with beer and muffins!) made us feel very welcome. Though the bathroom is an outhouse, it is immaculately clean -- not just for an outhouse, but for a bathroom! We would highly recommend this trip for anyone looking to escape the city for a few days. Thanks, Yona and Elan!

    Andrew2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • One of the coolest Airbnb stays, spectacular cabin, Elan and Yona are super hosts!

    Shlo2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • Great cabin. The host was really nice to us and I definitely recommend renting from her.

    Stephy2019-11-11T00:00:00Z
  • The most thoughtful touches (cookies at check in!) and such a beautifully designed space. It was cold out and there was snow but we stayed warm with the heater in the cabin! A fun trip!

    Brooke2019-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • Yona and Elan are great hosts and their recommendations of what to do in the area were perfect. The cabin itself is very cool and located in a secluded spot off of a stream, making it a very peaceful and serene getaway.

    Jane2019-11-09T00:00:00Z
  • The experience Yona and Elan provided was beautiful in aesthetic and spirit! They were warm, inviting, and available based on necessity (a great balance to keep as a host). We came to spend a few days cooking food over the open fire and exploring the area and had a great time doing that (although grill was provided), we just only wish we could have stayed the whole week!

  • Fantastic place to stay...can’t say enough good things!

    Nicholas2020-01-18T00:00:00Z
  • Karen's house was exceptionally clean and relaxing. She has superior decorating skills and her home exudes an exotic/new age vibe, with items from her travels. She has an abundant amount of books. I enjoyed reading a book in the peace of our surroundings. Everywhere I looked, there were interesting touches and items. Karen was easy to reach and we had no issues. Thank you for a wonderful experience! :)

    Jennifer2019-12-26T00:00:00Z
  • Karen is an attentive host. She is a positive and caring person. I enjoyed our "coffee talks' each morning. Her "Butterfly House" is conveniently located to down town and Route 145. It is clean and comfortable. It's a place where you can feel "right at home". This is the 3rd time we have stayed at Karen's place in the past year- when visiting family in the Cobleskill area. It will be my first place I check for availability when returning to the area.

    Annette2019-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • Karen's place is a cozy, eclectic, warm and very welcoming. We hope it's available the next time we're in Cobleskill!

  • Jessica was great. Cabin was great. A little hard to find but that was my fault for not reading her directions clearly. She helped us find it even though it was very late at night. We will be going back in the summer!

    Colin2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Such a beautiful off grid cabin! Made amazing memories with my family! We escaped reality for the weekend and it was so peaceful

    Chriss2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Great cabin with a nice fire place. Very, very remote location with no service, disconnecting you from the world. Perfect getaway for a group of friends or couple. Way up in the mountain so be careful if it snows!

    Aaron2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • Jessica's place is a very cute cabin in the middle of the woods so if you want a cabin that has a lot of charm where you can get away from things this place is for you

    Joe2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • Great place- incredibly clean, fully stocked, and the personal touches are wonderful. It’s a bit hard to find- so maybe use a traditional GPS as that was more useful than google maps. This is the place to be if you need a quiet getaway. Hope to come back!

    Sanjula2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • Great cabin, super charming and exactly as described. The wood-burning stove was amazing and kept us warm all day and night, even with the freezing temps outside. The house was great and all together we had a great experience.

    Douwe2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • Incredible beautiful cabin! My friends and I stayed for the weekend and had the most amazing time. You will feel like home once you get there, it was super comfortable and cozy I couldn't ask for anything better, right in the woods, I would recomend this place to everyone that's looking for a space to get their mind out of a stressful city and go relax and be in touch with nature and the forest, also host was amazing very helpful and gave all the details we needed to know about the cabin. I'm looking forward for my stay here next time :)

    Middleburgh, NY, United States

Newly restored 1840s Greek Revival cottage with new kitchen, two new bathrooms with showers (no tub) and new mechanical systems, two bedrooms, parking and vegetable and flower gardens with creek and horse pasture views. The house is furnished with 19th century antiques and decorative arts. Easily accessible to farmstands, antiquing, historic sites, restaurants and a nearby state park with an Olympic-size pool. The host lives next door, so help is available when needed, but privacy is allowed.
Please note that it is an old house with antique furnishings and some items are old and fragile with scratches and patina developed over time. If this is a concern, it may not be a good fit for you, but others will see this as part of the appeal. Please no children under 12. There is a smart TV with Netflix, Amazon Prime and Criterion Channel access, board games, books to read, an iron and ironing board, washer/dryer and a full kitchen.
The house is beside a placid creek with a view of adjacent mountains and a horse pasture across the creek. The house is on a paved road that is well maintained and plowed in the winter.
  • This was our 2nd stay here within the past month. Our first stay was so great, and Steve is so nice and kind, that we came back for another weekend-stay. The second go-round was just as wonderful as the first! We hope to be back soon. Thanks again Steve!

    Joseph2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Steve’s cottage was fantastic. Originally, we had rented an AirBnb in Margaretville, a little ways away, and, unfortunately, the not-so-great-host cancelled due to poor planning on his part. We were stuck, and needed a place to stay, and it was on the later side of a Saturday. Anyways, Steve was so gracious, and allowed us to book past his booking deadline, for 3 days/2 nights, on a holiday weekend, after communicating with AirBnb. We had prior engagements in the surrounding areas, and he basically saved us/our weekend plans. Steve’s home was even better than our fall-through booking. It was spotless, cozy, beautiful...everything we needed, and hoped for, after a long day of working things out. Steve greeted us with the key, showed us around, gave local tips, and was simply quite pleasant to be around. The beds were comfortable, kitchen spotless, bathrooms were spacious and excellent...the views of the river/pasture/horses from the rear of the house were/are spectacular...such a wonderful experience and stay! We plan on booking the next time we are remotely near North Blenheim, and so should you. Thanks Steve!

    Joseph2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • Steve was a fantastic host who provided everything we needed and was quick to respond at all times. We will be back!

    Adrian2019-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • Very clean, easy to find, knowledgable host

    Christopher2019-11-18T00:00:00Z
  • Steve was great. I had to check in very late (after everyone normal is in bed) and he made it easy for me. He was always helpful with suggestions about where to eat. The house is nice and filled with history. Glad I was able to stay as long as I did.

    Michael2019-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • Great little cottage!

    Christopher2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • The place was immaculate, minutes from the wedding venue, and Steven's hospitality went above and beyond. This was a great experience and we would book again if in the area. Thank you!

  • Hello all! Be prepared for gorgeous views and the opportunity for a little rest and reprieve. We really enjoyed our stay and the place is beautiful. We were especially impressed by the modern updates. I was concerned for a cabin that the floors and ceilings let bugs in but the space was AIR TIGHT! We do recommend packing bottled water in advance. The cabin is serviced by well water and that was an adjustment. Have fun!

    Heather2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • My boyfriend and I stayed for a long weekend at the cottage. This was by far the best trip we have ever been on. The cottage is gorgeous and in a beautiful location. It was so stylish and clean when we arrived. We did a good amount of the suggestions Raf gave us and they were 100% worth it. We would definitely come back again, I would love to see this place in the summer. Thank you both again for an amazing trip! I definitely would recommend this cottage to my family and friends.

Stunning 900 square foot apartment in a landmark Historic building built in 1898. Two bedrooms, one queen, one full, full bathroom, den/dining area, galley style kitchen with new range. Beautifully painted, new carpets, new bed frames and mattresses. The absolute nicest and cleanest place to stay in the region!
I purchased this awesome building 18 months ago and have been renovating the top two floors ever since. My own residence is the entire 3rd floor, where I live in 2400 square feet with my dog Balzac, named after the French writer, and two newly adopted cats. I am on site to make sure your stay is perfect in every way. Mine is arguably the best location in the Cobleskill area, and is clean and peaceful. College parents will have a guest room to accommodate their student on those weekend parental visits. Local hotel rooms cannot compare to the clean, simple elegance of Chez Balzac. Welcome.
  • This was our first Airbnb experience and we really enjoyed ourselves! Great communication and hospitality! We would stay again!

We are in Summit New York in the upper Catskills and our elevation is 2100 feet, so we don’t need any air-conditioning ,we are close to Cooperstown and 500 yards from Seven Ponds Farm. We are the only permanent residence on Seven Ponds Road . We allow dogs up to 35 pounds , no cats .
The rate is $90 per couple per night. Each additional person is $40 per night.
We are totally in a quiet place, there are no stores within the next 4 miles ,and Cobleskill it’s 18 miles away ,with good restaurants, and the movie theater .
  • Horst and Sigird are amazing people and host!! We were so lucky to stay at there home. We were there for our family friends wedding at Seven Ponds Farm which was waking distance from this air b & b. They had all breakfast food for us in the fridge and freezer we had use of everything. They made us feel right at home! Horst was so helpful and such a pleasure talking with - my dad and husband loved talking with him! I couldn’t say more nice things about this lovely couple! We plan to head back up there sometime in the summer to stay with them! The property is beautiful, peaceful and well kept!! The house was spotless everything was so clean and neat! Thanks again you both are amazing

    Brittni2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • Horst and Sigrid were amazing hosts! They have a really beautiful home (that Horst physically built by himself) up in Summit, NY. They did it as a bed & breakfast style so they were there and ready to make me breakfast - whatever I wanted at whatever time I wanted to get up. They made it very easy for me to come and go as I please, as I was in out of the house for my best friend's wedding up the road at Seven Ponds Farm. While I travel with my own stuff, they had absolutely everything I could possibly need just in case (toiletries, sheets & linen, iron, lint roller, garment rack since they knew I was coming for a wedding and had formalwear with me, etc.). I had an issue getting a rental car from Albany and took an Uber to them. Horst insisted that he would drive me back to Albany and wouldn't let me take an Uber back to Albany. They're both so sweet and wonderful people - I may go up again for a weekend getaway at their place.

The property is located on a well maintained Road, (off of the main rd.) and sits in front of four and a half acres of farmland. It is bordered on two sides by pine trees, has a lovely side yard and a very private back yard. The roof is 12 on 12 providing a considerable amount of Headroom in the loft area and the entire house is insulated with the best possible insulation to keep the occupants warm on even the coldest of winter nights and yet preserving nice, cool temperatures on hot days. Outfitted with a Rinnai heater, Navien tankless on-demand hot water heater, stainless steel refrigerator, stove and built in microwave, no expense was spared to create this warm and well-thought-out get-away. Hardwood flooring (acacia wood), tongue and groove walls & ceiling give the feeling of being in a cozy cabin, right down to the private, roofed back porch for a quiet summer's night relaxation. The Shabby Chic style including a kitchen filled with gadgets and a Keurig machine (don't forget your k-cups) makes cooking and serving delicious meals that much fun. Our first guests left rave reviews and told us they would definitely return. The Shabby Chic Airbnb sits around the corner from over 800 Acres of state land and is well situated for a commute to Albany, Cobleskill, Cooperstown, Oneonta, Delhi and yet under a 4 hour commute from New York City. This area is currently home to several wedding venues, The Breakfast Club (the best breakfast restaurant I have ever eaten at) and is an easy commute to everything from skiing to snowmobiling, hunting to fishing, golfing to horseback riding, swimming to visiting the Baseball Hall of Fame, a racetrack (cars and motorcycles, Oorah, even 2 Wal-marts, we've got it all.
The Breakfast Club is located right on Main St. in Jefferson and serves the best breakfast in NYS (in my opinion)! The Heartbreak has a long tradition of serving good, affordable food as well as offering a full bar for those seeking beverages. There is a corner store known as the J & H not more than 5 miles away that will provide most of the necessary basics you may find you need. There is a post office in town for all your mailing needs. The Jefferson Green, the town park, is in the heart of Jefferson and has a nice playground including swings, slide (tall slide), teeter totters and a basketball court. There are also several picnic tables and benches. Buck Hill Farms serves a wonderful Pancake Breakfast with Real Maple Syrup on weekends. This is small town living at it's best!
  • Great little place on a quiet road.

  • Wonderful place and has everything you need! If we are back in that area, we will stay there again!

    Phillip2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • The communication was great and the notes in the house were really helpful!

    Alex2019-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage was very intimate, comfortable, and cozy with lovely surroundings. I was in town for a wedding at a nearby farm/event space and it was no problem getting there. Kimberly left a lot of helpful notes around the cottage with instructions for check-in and checking out. The space was very thoughtfully and accommodatingly arranged.

    Ben2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • Kimberly and Amber were exceptional hosts in every way. This tiny house was both modern and clean and had all the amenities of a large house. Beautiful! It had everything you would hope in a stay from all necessary kitchen appliances, clean showers, hair dryers, multiple fans, pull out couch, washer, dryer and so on. Even the Hulu was subscribed to live TV! Check in process was easy and laid back and they were both were there to answer any questions before, during, and after the stay. I recommend to anyone looking for a little getaway especially with a dog! A+ hosts all around and would gladly come back anytime.

    Joshua2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • We live in Brooklyn (lol) and had a wedding in nearby Summit. We had such an amazing time at Kimberly's place—and so did our English bulldog, Hank. Would recommend to anyone looking for a cute tiny home in the area.

There are some very charming, family-owned places to eat out in nearby Cobleskill. We are also located 15 minutes from the popular Seven Ponds Farm wedding venue, 20 minutes from historic Sharon Springs, 35 minutes from Cooperstown and 40 minutes from Albany.
  • Don’t just look, book it! Jess’s apartment is clean and comfortable. The location is great, a short drive to SUNY Cobleskill and moments away from major highways. We had a wonderful dinner at the Fox and the Hound restaurant in Middleburgh. The crispy artichokes bring back delicious memories. For breakfast we had a solid no frills breakfast at Buck Hill Farm. It’s always good to see a tractor in the driveway & farm fresh eggs on the counter! So yummy!

    Maria2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • Jess' place was exactly what I was looking for! After working an event in Sharon Springs I needed a place to stay before going back the next day. I was able to make myself a full dinner and relax with a bottle of wine. Jess was very quick to respond to my texts and checking in was so easy! Also, so clean! If ever I find myself back in the area I will definitely be back to stay.

  • Me and my friends stayed here for one night and it was an incredible experience. Rosalie’s place had everything we needed. The view of the lake was very beautiful. At nighttime, we got to see the bright stars in the sky. We felt very welcome here and Rosalie was always available if we needed anything. Would definitely come back for another stay!

  • Great place to stay especially if you are going to a wedding at Blenheim farms. Just 1.5 miles away. Plenty of space stocked refrigerator. Great Airbnb

    Theodore2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • My boyfriend and I were attending a wedding at Blenheim Hill Farm and this was the absolute perfect place to stay. It is less than a five minute drive away and so beautiful. Rosalie was an absolutely lovely host and put so many nice touches in the home like drinks in the fridge and breakfast supplies. The deck is gorgeous with the view of the lake. We were just sad we didn’t have more time to spend there but we hope to make a trip back soon!

    Ashley2019-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • Rosalie was such an amazing host. She stocked the fridge which was so helpful cause there weren’t a ton of food options close by. She went above and beyond as a host and we couldn’t have appreciated it more.

    Theresa2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • Charming, immaculate, cottage with a beautiful view. Rosalie couldn't have been more accommodating.

    Carol2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • Rosalie is an incredibly kind and generous host. Her home is filled with so much love and care. She was very flexible with our arrival and departure times, and even kept the fridge well-stocked. We wish we had booked a longer stay! We can’t wait to come back!

A charming 2 story Victorian with 4 bedrooms and 2 bath is waiting for your stay. Sleeps 7 but room for air mattresses (available) should you need more space. 3 bedrooms have queen mattresses and 1 bedroom has a twin. House is fully stocked with kitchen and bathroom supplies, including hair dryers. Near Cooperstown & Dreams Park (30-45 minutes away), Capital district (45 minutes away) & train ride to/from NYC and Boston (3.5 hour drive away)
This home is located on a side road off of Main Street and is within walking distance of many of the village's amenities- movie theater, restaurants, shops, bookstore, coffee shop, ice cream shops, walking paths and parks. The house is a quirkey set up which is common for old victorians. The three upstairs bedrooms have connecting doors ( GREAT if you have children who want to feel close yet in their own space). The one large bathroom upstairs has 2 entrances- one is through the bedrooms and the 2nd is up the backstairs through the laundry room. The downstairs bathroom is accessible in the kitchen- a much smaller bathroom but with a full shower, sink and toilet. The only bedroom downstairs is off the kitchen, has a twin bed, couch and cable TV. I am constantly updating and rearranging the set up to best meet the needs of my guests...most recent update including the adding of bed space and making sure all upstairs bedrooms had queen sized beds. The backyard is a work in progress- we are always adding new landscaping and plants. We hope you are happy with the results of all of our work.
The street will have normal business day traffic as there are a number of shops and local amenities nearby being utilized. It is a family neighborhood so there are many families riding bikes, walking dogs and saying hello.
  • Dove's place was so much fun and exactly as described! Our son was participating in Cooperstown DreamPark and we had grandparents traveling to see the games. Having Dove's place gave us room to relax and enjoy each other without being confined to a hotel. It had absolutely everything we needed and it felt like being home! We especially enjoyed the back porch and the fire pit! Cobleskill is a great little town. It is about 45 minutes away from Cooperstown, but it was a beautiful and enjoyable ride! Thanks Dove!!! We'll definitely be back!!!!

    Lisa2019-08-14T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great house, in a great small town. Old victorian-ish, lots of room, the back and front porches invite you to sit a spell and watch the world go by for a bit. Dove was quickly responsive, the house had many amenities if you forgot something, or just wanted a cup of coffee or tea in the morning. Lovely home, lovely town, great location.

    Meg2019-08-08T00:00:00Z
  • Dove is a very welcoming and helpful host. The neighborhood is very quiet for a good night's sleep on the comfy beds. House is very conveniently located. House has a relaxed, easy feel. Thank you to Dove and Brian.

    Jennifer2019-07-30T00:00:00Z
  • This was our first Airbnb rental so we don’t have anything to compare it to. Dove was very attentive to us from the beginning to the end. She was quick to reply and very helpful. As mentioned, this is an old house with a lot of charm. Keep in mind that old houses with charm have their quirks. We live in one. If you read the guest book, the quirky things are explained. I agree that if you have a hard time with stairs, it may be a difficult place to stay. Having said that, we very much enjoyed our stay. And it was perfect for our family of 6.

    Lonnie2019-07-25T00:00:00Z
  • Dove’s house was so warm and cozy! It was like a home away from home. Dove was a picture perfect host - communicative, welcoming, and accommodating. I highly recommend staying with her :)

The world has put a lot on restriction; however this beautiful Art home has gorgeous hiking at Vroman's Nose nearby. Down the street from Village of Cobleskill; a charming welcoming village. Truly Magnificent! Previously an appliance store; I integrated new with the old, as it has its own story. Remodled; and always in works for improvement.
Quiet neighborhood, the folks are friendly and the Village of Cobleskill is welcoming. Five minute walk up a hill and the views are amazing. Wildlife is abundant and when night time comes and the sky is clear the stars light up everything!

This building was once a church and then the firehouse for the Village of Richmondville. The owner, an artist, renovated the building in 2007-2008 to use as her home and studio (on the first floor). Love has enabled this unique property to be available as an Airbnb rental. Situated on a large corner lot, the building feels very private, but is close to amenities and Interstate 88. There is also a waterfall behind the property.
The living room is furnished with a mix of comfortable seating, antiques, carpets, books, fine art and photographs. The apartment has high speed internet and a desk if you need to work while you are away from home. There is a DVD player and a large selection of DVD's and Amazon Prime gives you a connections to all streaming services through Apple TV. The kitchen is well equipped and a fully stocked pantry next to the kitchen leads to the powder room. There is also a large walk through closet between the bedroom and the master bath. Two inflatable queen sized mattresses are available for 2 more guests.
Richmondville is a small quiet town with a wonderful new deli serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. The town also has a bank, post office, bar, gas station and Dollar General; all walking distance from the property.

The cabin consists of a living room/ kitchen, dining room, and bath on the first floor. There is a loft with 2 twin beds and a full bed. A wood stove will keep you cozy on cool nights and ceiling fans will keep you cool in the summer. All are welcome. Perfect for family of 4 or for 1 couple. There are fun things to do within an hour of the cabin. There are Caverns, zip-lining, Baseball Museum and lots of hiking trails around. There is a studio apartment attached to the back of the cabin for the hosts when they are there. It has a separate entrance and facilities. We are sometimes there so we can clean the cabin between guests. When we are there we have our 30 pound friendly American Eskimo with us.
Beginning the second weekend in October, the price per night will be $86 to help cover the cost of the firewood. By then you will need a fire in the wood burning stove to keep you cozy at night and also may need a fire during the day if it is chilly.
The cabin is set in the woods on a well kept gravel road. There are only eight homes on the road with only one you can see. The foliage in the area is beautiful. Come enjoy some great hunting or just come and enjoy the cabin and the beautiful area.
  • Very relaxing cottage away from noise but close to activities. Very well equipped with thoughtful extras. Thanks for having the first fire all ready to spark as it was a freezing night and that helped warm things up quicker. We will return when the weather is warmer as the chairs on the deck looked so comfortable and regret not having coffee outside.

  • Wonderful stay with all the amenities but with a rustic feel. Althea is a great host and communication is swift. We love the cabin and the area and will be back to Althea’s !

  • Amazing cottage in the middle of the woods to relax. Super friendly hosts!

    Martin2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • This is without a doubt the most thoughtfully appointed cabin in the woods. Every single thing you might need and want .... Michael and Althea have renovated this old hunter’s cabin perfectly. I slept like a rock. I loved it all. Additionally.... if they’re there at the same time in their private apartment.... you will be charmed by them as well! Jefferson is a wonderful, small village with great ‘picking’ opportunity too. Can’t beat it!

    Melissa2019-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • Althea thank you again for everything. We had such a wonderful time at the house. It really made our weekend stress free. Unfortunately Jack didn't join us, too bad he would have love the yard. The house was clean and very cozy, and you provided us with everything we needed (coffee!). Your communication was outstanding. Kind Regards, Vincent

    Vincent2019-07-21T00:00:00Z
  • We came to Althea’s place for a weekend getaway from the City with our dog. The place was just as described, very well maintained and offered all the quietness we were looking for. Downstairs a well equipped kitchen, dining room and a comfy living room with two rocking chairs, TV with Direct TV and DVD player with a broad collection. Upstairs two single beds and a double-bed, comfortably sleeps 4 people. You have a lot of privacy, two fire pits, a meadow with a bench behind the cottage and a roofed porch in case it rains. There were local tips for hiking and food. Thank you for a great stay!!

    Martina & Marek2019-06-30T00:00:00Z
  • This was a lovely place to stay for the weekend - especially a wonderful place for dogs. Althea was responsive and thoughtful, even leaving directions for a nice hike and calling to check to see that everything was ok with our stay. Would be happy to stay again!

  • If you are looking for a beautifully decorated rustic cabin in the Catskills, then this is the place! The amentities were great, but the best part by far is being surrounded by all of the nature. There are bird feeders all around the property, a few fire pits, and an outdoor shower.

  • Tatiyana made my birthday weekend so special. We loved all the personal touches throughout the house such as the bin of toiletries, robes and even extra hats, mittens, etc. We all felt like we were staying at a resort (especially with the hot tub😍!) Very relaxing and beautiful home. Close to many different ski resorts and other winter activities.

    Kelly2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Taityanas home was a perfect slice of heaven! Clean, spacious and bright. The hot tub and fire stove are great touches to feel cozy and joyful especially in the wintertime. It was a 10/10 stay and perhaps we will come again in the summer!!! Thanks so much to our gracious hosts. :)

  • This a very comfortable house in a gorgeous area of the Catskills. Beautiful hikes and farms with great produce are really close. We would definitely go back!

    Catalina2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time at Tatiyana's place. They were very quick to respond to any questions you had and gave detailed info when requested. We needed to check out a little later and they were very accommodating. The space itself is really nice with a great view and quite easy access to hiking and nature. We enjoyed hanging at the patio at night to watch the stars. Its well equipped for us to do everything with no problems for the weekend. Thank you!

    Jason2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing space with all that you could need for a mountain get away. The photos are good but the house is even better. Very easily and comfortably housed 12 adults. Tatiyana and Noel have been the most considerate and responsive hosts by far, they even left a binder with recommendations, suggestions, and instructions regarding the house and our stay which was referenced plenty of times. Gorgeous scenery with plenty of nearby outdoor activities to keep you busy during the day and a firepit for the night (wood provided). Only note, not that it detracted from the quality of our time: Out of range for most cell providers so service is limited but the wifi was great at supporting all of our devices

Our extended family reunions have always been at 'the cottage' in Canada - so our decor resembles those fond 'cottage-type' memories. This suite has 2 separate bedrooms, both with a queen size bed and smart or roku tv. One of the bedrooms includes the fridge; coffee maker; a bar sink and the newly tiled bathroom with walk-in shower.
On Saturdays through the summer, the town has opened up the 'Maple Museum' for a local 'Farmer's Market'. Come and enjoy. They also put on a free to the public, Summer Concerts every Sunday afternoon at 2pm. You will appreciate the small village atmosphere as you stroll through the village. We are in the foothills of the Catskill Mountains surrounded by rolling hills and country roads.
  • Very clean and comfortable. Lesley is very nice and thoughtful. 5 star for sure.

  • I highly recommend Lesley’s place! My family stayed there during my wedding weekend and it was perfect. The rooms were lovely and Lesley and her husband were so helpful and accommodating. They are great hosts and this is a great spot to stay in Jefferson!

  • We booked two rooms (longer review under other room). Very positive experience. Well located. Comfortable and clean and nicely renovated. Would recommend and wouldn’t think twice about staying again next time we’re in the area.

  • Lesley's "cottage suite" was absolutely beautiful! It's definitely one of the coziest and cleanest airbnb's I've ever stayed in. Lesley clearly takes pride in making sure her rooms are immaculate and I felt right at home as soon as I walked in the door. Lesley and her husband Bob greeted me upon my arrival and showed me up to the room. They are both warm, friendly, and welcoming. The natural light in the room is gorgeous and the bed is extremely comfortable. The bathroom is fantastic as well! Overall, Lesley's space went above and beyond my expectations and I'm already looking forward to my next stay there. It's the perfect place for a tranquil weekend getaway from NYC!

  • Loved staying at Lesley's place! It is so quaint and she & her husband were wonderful hosts. We enjoyed eating at both local eateries - the entire town seemed full of kind & nice folks! We had great accommodations and Lesley even provided us with homemade muffins to go with our morning coffee!

This place is peace on the mountain. The home is open and welcoming. There are three bedrooms and a great room which includes a full kitchen, games area, and spectacular views. Bright, quiet, and peaceful, it's the ideal place to get away from it all.
After you pass the entry gate, you will find this secluded log home with it's huge deck facing the most beautiful view of the Catskills. As soon as you enter this home you'll be in the Great Room - with a fully stocked kitchen, dining area, living room, and games area. Walk down the hall and you'll find 3 sweet bedrooms, a full bath, and a laundry room. Yes, there is a TV - but no cable so please enjoy the DVDs or bring your own. Wi-Fi password will keep you connected to the "real world". Venture out to walk the beautiful fields, or travel to nearby sites to hike, antique, or just be part of the rural community of Upstate New York. Nearby gems include Heather Ridge Farms, Barber's Farms, and of course the Vroman's Nose trails.
This home is secluded. You will have over 60 acres to yourself, and the closest neighbor is the State Forest. However, you can also drive to the nearest town, Break-a-Bean or a 15 minute drive will bring you to Middleburgh, NY. It's about a 20 minute drive to East Durham.
  • If you need a quiet get-away, this is a great place to stay. The house is surrounded by nature and a short walk from the nearest neighbor. We enjoyed our third stay here.

  • I would recommend Martha and her beautiful log cabin home to anyone interested in staying the Catskills.

    Jordan2019-08-21T00:00:00Z
  • My friends and I were looking for a nice break from the city and we found Martha's listing. We had a wonderful weekend of relaxing and hiking and just enjoying the area. There are a lot of good hiking trails in the surrounding area and if you just want to stay in, the cabin is very comfortable and spacious. We also brought my dog along with us and he had the greatest time hiking and running around in the open yard in front of the cabin. We had a wonderful experience here and would definitely suggest it to anyone looking for a great getaway from the city.

    Jae Hun2019-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing view remoteness loved the cabin definitely do it again ...in the middle of nowhere everything you need to be"attahed" and detach

  • Martha’s place was great for the 3 nights we were there. Great place to unwind and relax.

    Christian2019-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • Martha and the cabin are absolutely amazing. The cabin is located on a beautiful mountain top which makes for great mornings and sunsets. A group of us stayed here for MLB hall of fame weekend and the hour commute to Cooperstown was not bad at all. Martha is a great host who gave clear instructions, was extremely nice and welcoming, and provided a wonderful home for us to stay in. I would definitely stay here again!

    Emmanuel2019-07-21T00:00:00Z
  • Nana's cabin was perfect for our family of 5 as we stayed several days for a family wedding nearby in Rensaellerville. Plenty of room and the place is decorated in a way that just makes you feel like home. Cell phone service in the Catskills can get spotty but on top of the mountain here it is very good 3g and 4g coverage. Also the property is beautiful and very quiet. Because there is nothing but farms or woods in the immediate area, it is a great place to stargaze. Martha is gracious, welcoming and easy to communicate with. A great experience. Thank you Martha for your kindness.

    Tom2019-07-15T00:00:00Z
  • We needed comfortable, seclude place for the 4th of July weekend. Martha's house was perfect!!! This pretty log house is equipped with everything a family needs for a wonderful and restful mountain getaway. We enjoyed beautiful mornings on the deck, quiet comfortable days in the house or small town near by, beautiful sunsets and cool starry nights. It was firefly season so the landscape at night was amazing by the firepit. We will be back!!!

  • Clare’s place is magical. Pictures really don’t do it justice! It’s completely off-grid, so great for the environmentally conscious. The view is so relaxing and beautiful. Breakfast materials are provided which is thoughtful as it’s a few miles to the nearest groceries. Highly recommend for anyone looking to escape the city and immerse in nature.

    Melissa2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • This is a magical place and Clare is the most thoughtful host. From the flower arrangements, to the local tips, to the jar full of tiny biscuits to go with your morning coffee (and yes, Clare is a coffee drinker, so if you are too, you will appreciate that she grinds the coffee fresh and provides cream in addition to milk!) and the tea lights on the patio. Even as I write this, I know that my words are falling short of my newfound love for this cottage and this very special place. Come and let your soul soak up all of the beauty that is here just waiting for you.

    Ginny2019-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • Gorgeous views, very private and remote. Great experience in off the grid tiny house living with most of the creature comforts. Within range of Verizon cell service.

    Tom2019-06-16T00:00:00Z
  • Our time spent at Clare's place was unforgettable. The pictures available do not do it justice, the view is spectacular and the cabin is perfect. It was easy to pretend we were in a fairy tale. We wish we could stay again soon!

    Ryan2018-10-07T00:00:00Z
  • Clare has created a truly unique getaway with the three quaint and cozy cabins and grounds that all make up the "Little Green Cottage". The view is spectacular! The setting is stunning. There are hiking trails around the property that Clare showed us, that are gorgeous and full of wildlife. We saw many critters from several birds (heard some owls, but didn't see them), squirrels, chipmunks, wild turkeys, and more. The cabins are so thoughtfully designed, and allow for privacy with the separate bath house and kitchen cabins. Clare is an excellent host; she gave us tons of info on local attractions and provided great breakfast foods, coffee, teas, etc. We were spoiled for choice when it came to cozy outdoor areas to relax and unwind, with seating and umbrella on the front main cabin porch, to the stone wall and fire-pit, or the swinging chair, or the table for two in front of the kitchen cabin. Everything was so thoughtfully done. This has raised the bar for Airbnb stays. Clare was incredibly responsive and provided great instructions on how everything works in the eco-friendly getaway she created. We also loved the local attractions from Ryan's Scrumpy Ewe Cider Shack to Camp HereHere for drinks/dinner. Sap Bush Hollow Cafe and Farm are not to be missed. I'd love to return for a longer stay. This is the perfect place to get away from it all and meditate, write, relax and star-gaze.

    Amiee2018-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • As a solo traveler looking to get away from the city, this was the perfect place. The cottage is on Clare’s property, but it’s secluded, peaceful, and graced with a beautiful calming vista. I also liked the “rustic” nature of the stay. Clare was a lovely, responsive host who shared a few recommendations for nearby restaurants—which did not disappoint.

    Rebecca2018-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • This was my first time staying in Airbnb house. Honestly, I never imagined how Airbnb works, but I had perfect beginning because of Clare’s cottage. I cannot even express my thankful emotion in written language. I just met the best host. She is reaaaaaaally kind person. Even though I arrived there a little late, she explained every detail thing to us. And she gave us lots of fresh vegetables from her own yard on second day. Also, she wrote the memo about some farm markets for our convenience. The whole cottage was very clean, and it was exactly same with the pictures in the website. (I must say real view is way better than picture) We had a precious time in there with nature sounds. If someone who really wants to escape from the concrete forest, I fully recommend Clare’s cottage for your recharging energy. I I hope I can go there again.:)

This country charmer is just that-- a simple, rustic cottage situated on a serene natural reservoir and beautiful valley. Bright and airy, the home is located on a dead end road with a wholesome 3 acres overlooking beautiful rolling hills in every direction. The master bedroom and study is upstairs while the ground level with its exposed beams is home to a smaller guest bedroom, bathroom, living and kitchen/dining.
If you’re looking for luxury and spotless modern amenities, this one is probably not for you! You’ve gotta love the quirks and imperfections of this old colonial farmhouse to appreciate its true glory. Enjoy the protected farmland views from the front porch or the outdoor picnic table sitting below a pair of majestic old willow trees. Fish, hike or just chill out. Going skiing is easy: about 50 mins to Windham Mountain! This place is perfect for a quiet romantic getaway or even a solo retreat to read and be in the stillness of the Northern Catskills. We’re always adding updates and improvements to this old beauty. Please enjoy the low nightly rate while we continue to improve. Don't be surprised if you hear rustles of wild animals outside from time to time. Or spot a cobweb or two. The charm of this classic colonial farmhouse is what keeps it unique.
5 minutes to the village of Cobleskill and 15 mins to village of Middleburgh. Cute restaurants, cafes, grocery, bars, farmers markets, antiques and laundry. Not to mention incredible hikes and nature!
  • This is the perfect place to go if you are looking for a quiet, secluded getaway. The scenery is beautiful, and it is a great place to relax. Brian suggested places to eat, and we weren't disappointed.

    Jennifer2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • This place is a gem! From the moment we corresponded with Brian we knew this was going to be a special trip. My partner and I wanted a weekend in nature and Brian’s cottage is beyond stunning. A gorgeous, historic cottage at the edge of a natural reservoir surrounded by hills - this is the dream getaway! The house is really cute with some lovely furniture and real attention to detail. I work in the art world and noticed there were some very good contemporary art works on view too. The place is spotless and has great views from all the back rooms of the beautiful environs (think I spotted a Bald Eagle in the tree from our bedroom..). It’s also incredibly comfortable and quiet - we slept a good 10 hours each night and woke up to the sound of the wind rustling the willow trees and bird song. This place is great for exploring the northern catskhills and is easy to access from New York City. My favorite nearby town is Middleburgh, a short drive with a great restaurant and delightful bookshop. We also got to hike nearby Roman’s Nose and had a morning skiing at nearby Windham Mountain. We returned to NYC thoroughly rested and reinvigorated. Thank you Brian and we’ll be back!!

  • Absolutely stay here if you're visiting the area! Lesley is a wonderful, thoughtful host and so accommodating. My family stayed at her place and they said it was perfect for their weekend visit. Would highly recommend!

  • My wife and 14-month old daughter and I stayed here to attend a weekend of events at Blenheim Hill Farm, and Seven Ponds Farm. This property was perfectly located less than 10min from Blenheim Farm and less than 20min from Seven Ponds Farm. Rooms were both recently renovated, nicely designed and comfortable. Also nice to be a short 2min walk to a breakfast spot and bar/grill in town. Buck Hill Farm 0.5 mile away is was also a highlight for weekend breakfast. Would definitely stay again next time we are in the area.

  • My fiance and I stayed at Wind in the Willow's while in Jefferson for a wedding at Blenheim Hill Farm, which was about a 10 minute drive away. The room was decorated nicely, was clean, cozy, comfortable, and had a king-sized bed which we greatly appreciated after a 4+ hour drive. It had bottled water, coffee pods, and delicious muffins which held us over before we had dinner at the wedding and then breakfast the next morning at The Breakfast Club (recommended by Lesley & her husband -- it was delicious). There were a few other restaurants, bars, and a gas station in the area so there seems to be a convenient area to stay if you're there for several days. I recommend staying at Lesley's place!

  • We stayed for just a night at Lesley's place but found it comfortable and accommodating. Lesley allowed us to check in early—which was fast and easy. The room has a Keurig machine for morning coffee, and has a large, spacious bedroom and bathroom. Towels and shampoo were provided. Highly recommend breakfast at the Breakfast Club a few blocks away!

  • What a beautiful home and room filled with amazing artwork. Lesley’s home was incredible and it was even better than we could have imagined. Lesley and her husband were there on the porch to greet us and welcome us in to their home. We had a wedding at Blenheim Hill Farms and it was less than a 10 min drive away making it so easy to get to and from. We would highly recommend this!

  • We stayed at Wind In The Willows for a nearby wedding and were really happy with our choice. Lesley and her husband welcomed us warmly upon arrival. Our room was large w a very comfy king bed and private bathroom with a good shower. The decor is country comfortable w lots of artwork by Lesley’s Dad, who illustrated book covers and advertising. It made for a truly unique and personal stay. The Breakfast Club is a short walk and makes a fantastic breakfast.

  • The Wind in the Willows was so charming. Lesley went above and beyond making us feel at home, and the little touches throughout the room were appreciated. Great location just a few doors down from the best breakfast spot in Jefferson.

The historic Mill Pond Inn was built in 1879 by the Mann Brothers, who ran a grain and sawmill. When David and Joan purchased the property in 2017, it had been abandoned for twenty-two years, but retained many of its original details. Today, the house features five rooms with private baths, a relaxing front porch, and a large back deck with stunning views of the mill pond. An event space for parties of up to 100, with additional space in the bar, are also available.
The house sits on 25 acres of scenic woodland. Guests can cross over the wooden bridge, past the waterfall, and to the nature trail, which winds around the pond and along the stream. The area is home to frogs, beavers, and many birds: herons, egrets, wood ducks, mallards, kingfishers, and others.
Jefferson is a one of-a kind rural community, with a village green, many original buildings along Main Street, and eateries—Buck Hill Farm, The Breakfast Club, and The Heartbreak Hotel—that attract patrons from a wide area. In summer, the active Historical Society presents free concerts in the magnificent Maple Museum.
  • We were so impressed with David and Joan's BNB. It was meticulously appointed, comfortable and an absolute gem of a place. As with any new property on AirBNB, we weren't sure what to expect given the lack of reviews, however, it is safe to say that this location exceeded our expectations. We spent another night at a more established but similar Inn in the area and found this location to be far better. Breakfast included fresh fruit, coffee and a selection of bread. The hosts were very friendly and hosted a wine and cheese happy hour. We will definitely stay again!

  • David was super responsive and very friendly. We didn’t spend a lot of time there, as we were just passing through. The home is an amazing restoration from an original building for the 1870s. Has a lot of character and a quiet and beautiful setting. Would stay there again in a heartbeat and would recommend the place to anyone in the area.

  • There are few places that can compare to the Mill Pond Inn. The hosts have undertaken a huge project in restoring this grand antique inn, and their work is fantastic. I was particularly impressed by the quality of the interior renovation. Each bedroom is elegant, with the emphasis on quiet privacy. Every bedroom has a private bathroom.

Enjoy a peaceful, private stay in our studio. Located in the heart of downtown Cobleskill, we are steps away from restaurants, shops, SUNY Cobleskill, the movie theater, and Center Park. We're also a great place to stay for visits to Howe Caverns, Cooperstown, and Albany. Rest comfortably in our historic village and enjoy the picturesque scenery of Schoharie County. Our studio is great for couples, solo adventurers, and business travelers, but we are not able to accommodate more than 2 guests.
Our studio has a private entrance, full bathroom, queen size bed, and kitchenette.
  • The location of the apartment (walking distance to "downtown Cobleskill", cleanliness and John's hospitality were the standout features. The apartment is as advertised, we had no trouble at all.

  • I had a great stay at John’s place! The studio was clean, quiet & had everything one would need. The studio was located within walking distance to restaurants & SUNY Cobleskill. John was super friendly & made me feel right at home! I mentioned to John that I couldn’t drink caffeine & he brought me decaf coffee, how sweet! One of the best parts of the stay had to be the homemade muffins! Holy cow! The muffins were outstanding. Not to mention John’s wife, Marylin, baked me a whole tray of muffins to take to work on the last day of my visit. This place is highly recommended if you want to feel right at home. Cannot wait to visit in December!
