Town
“Looe is an ancient Cornish fishing town, the first 'town charter' granted to East Looe by Henry II sometime between 1154 and 1189 A.D. Looe pre-dates Queen Elizabeth I, Henry VIII and by the time Christopher Columbus 'sailed the ocean blue', Looe was already over 300 years old. Great for historians and amazing for people who live in modern towns, in modern houses. Little winding streets and lane and houses, like Eliza, built when King Henry VII (that's right, the SEVENTH) was on the throne. Learn more at the Old Guildhall Museum or, for Looe's fishing history, pay a visit to the Old Sardine Factory Heritage Centre (includes a cafe, a restaurant and a kids' climbing wall.”

Restaurant
“Trawlers is Looe's noteworthy seafood restaurant and often serve a good selection of lobster, scallops, calamari, lemon sole and other fresh fish, all caught by the Looe day boats. Slightly more pricey than the Coddy Shack as more of a wine bar restaurant than family restaurant. A nice friendly place with great views over Looe harbour. Inside and outside seating, although limited. Booking advisable in the peak months. Serving a good selection of wine but If you like gin, why not try a glad of Tarquins Cornish gin :)”
