Taco Place

“Big Star is a bourbon and beer-focused, taco-slinging, late-night honky-tonk in the heart of Chicago’s Wicker Park and Wrigleyville neighborhoods. Executive Chef Paul Kahan and Chef de Cuisine Chris Miller’s menu, inspired by authentic Mexican street food, is complemented by an extensive house-selected single barrel bourbon program. Housed in a defunct 1940's gas station, the Wicker Park taqueria’s soundtrack of classic country and rock & roll is selected and spun by bar staff. They operate on a first come, first serve basis and don't take reservations. The corner of North Ave. and Damen Ave. (1531 N. Damen Ave.).”

“Bongo Room is like the Candy Land of breakfast and brunch restaurants. The menu is filled with absolute ridiculousness, including items from the breakfast, brunch, and specials menu. If white chocolate and caramel pretzel pancakes don't sound crazy enough, opt for chocolate tower french toast, which is in fact a respectable sized tower. And if you still don't think Bongo Room is pushing the edge, we're not sure how you can argue with Oreo and praline flapjacks, complete with crushed Oreo cookies, warm praline sauce, and chocolate creme anglaise.”
