Places to stay in Wilkes County
Newly renovated, cozy and quirky, our tiny house is the perfect setting for a relaxing getaway. Our property, a remote location far from the hustle and bustle of city life, is a beautiful valley surrounded by forest. Being movie set builders left us with a lot of set parts, so we incorporated them into this little gem...separate from main house, private deck, full kitchen, AC, record player and huge record selection, hiking trails, swimming pond, zip line, yoga, art installations and more...
First of all, we live VERY remote...the next town is a 25 minute car ride away! The last 3 miles are gravel road and a steep driveway (we have a low rider scion and have had never problems). The property and the tiny house are really surrounded by woods, woods, woods.... The tiny house acommodates 2 adults. We live on 65 acres and adjoin a state forest, have a one acre swimming pond with zipline, a trampoline in the woods and a slackline. there is also a helicopter on the roof next to the cabin in which you can hang out and dream about your next flight far away.....there are meandering hiking trails through the woods, and plenty of nooks and crannies throughout the property to provide you with adventure, fun, relaxation, and inspiration. We also have a yoga studio on the property which is open to everybody. Henry is a certified yoga and acro yoga instructor and is available to give private lessons for singles, couples, and small groups ($35 per 1 1/2 hr session). Bedding includes pillows, linens, and blankets, and towels will be provided. The toilet is a compost toilet! Very user friendly, eco-friendly, and not as scary as it sounds. The compost toilet is cleaned completely after each guest stay and has no 'ick' factor!! We also like to note that we support and love to host members of the LGBT community and Black Lives Matter!!
The neighborhood is woods, woods, woods...Nearby attractions include: Blue Ridge Parkway (20 min drive from tiny house), the little town of Wilkesboro--home of the "Merlefest" in April and "Applefest" in August (30 min drive), West Jefferson and Mt. Jefferson just up the mountain, the town of Boone and hometown of Appalachian State University, and Blowing Rock, home of the Tweetsie railroad. All four towns are nice small towns for strolling, shopping for very good local arts and crafts and just hanging out...
  • Henry and Judith have a beautiful place! The pictures online don’t do it justice! They grounds have exquisite art installations that provide fun entertainment as well as relaxation. I highly recommend this airbnb! Some cool things you may find here are a helicopter, dragon, dinosaur egg, roman bath, and zen garden!

  • This place is totally magical! It’s very remote, but it’s easily the best bnb my girlfriend and I have ever stayed in. The tiny house is wonderfully charming, and the surrounding property is gorgeous. If you’re looking for a relaxed and remote getaway in the blue ridge mountains, I couldn’t recommend anything better.

  • Definitely one of the coolest places I have ever stayed!! 10/10 would go back again

    Kalee2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • A really beautiful place with great hosts. I especially liked the miles of hiking trails through the woods that start directly on the property.

  • This was a completely magical, and amazing space to unwind in for a week absolutely loved it! We loved it and would recommend to anyone who needs a serene place to unwind.

  • This is a one of a kind magical place where you go to connect with art, nature, and your inner child. Judith, Henry, and the furbabies are the best host and it shows how much love and effort they put into their masterpiece! The tiny house is clean and has everything you need. You can pack light only bringing clothes and grub. They truly have thought of everything to help you work less and play more. Inspiration sings in every nook and cranny! Closest town is conviently 20-30 mins away if you're in need of a store. Acces to Blue Ridge Parkway is close as well. There is so much adventure throughout the valley your inner child will be heart broken when it's time to leave. So, go breathe in the fresh air and get some clean water at Peaceful Valley, you won't regret it!

    Sharee2019-07-04T00:00:00Z
  • The space was perfect for me. From the fully stocked kitchen where I prepared my meals, to the dining table that faced the window where I had the vista of Henry and Judith's gorgeous piece of nature and the birds that alighted on the stump on the deck. The singing of birds every morning was incredible. The bedroom is an underwater paradise with an octopus ceiling mural, a turtle mosaic, paper mache fish dangling from the ceiling. I found myself contantly staring at the Cousteau-like photograph on the night table. Yes, this was my teenage dream bedroom realized! The details in the tiny house are unbelievable. There is a wood stump outside with a variety of heart-shaped stones on it. Also a shrine for icons like the ones I used to see when hiking the mountains in Austria, but instead of saints, it's full of mini dog figurines. So much modern art, it just turns on your brain! And all of this came out of the minds of my amazing hosts! Besides brilliant, they are so friendly and considerate! They just as easily welcomed me into their home as respected my privacy when I needed it. It's not often that you meet balanced people: artistic and intelligent, but also down-to-earth and humble. They are conscientious in everything they do: the care of their guests, the love for their sweet dogs, the maintenance of their home and land. I still don't understand how they do it all. And on top of all this, they've added form to every function: their house is a work of art. Their sculpture garden is a melding of futurism and mysticism that belongs in the museum section of tourism books. If nothing else, you have to go for a hike just to see the art installations they've planted throughout the mountains: the dragon snaking the bottom of the valley! I would come back here in a heart beat... and I plan to.

Watch the leaves turn, listen to the breeze, feel the NOT humid, 90 degree temperature from where you came :) or for the more adventurous bunch...! Our Favorites in Boone: - App State FOOTBALL!!! Head up to "The Rock" this fall to watch App State play. The Blue Ridge Parkway is 1/4 mile away. One of our favorite hikes is the E.B Jeffress Cascades trail. It is a short easy/moderate hike down to a small set of waterfalls with a great overlook. Rough Ridge is another great, moderate hike. Cleared and marked trail leading to a beautiful 270 degree overlook. Hebron Rock Colony is the best! Drive south on the parkway to Price Park. Cook out at one of the park provided grills, then hike a short moderate hike to the coolest bunch of rocks in the High Country. Sunbathe on the rocks until you burn. It's the best. The South Fork New River has a lot to offer... kayaking, tubing, canoeing, fly fishing, swimming etc. If your two vehicles allow, in spring or early summer, take one or both of our kayaks to the Todd island Park off of Railroad Grade Road on the South Fork of the New River. It's a great float down to the Cranberry Springs overpass. (Leave vehicle at the end, parking available). *FOOD* Boone: Hatchett Coffee- There is no better coffee. (Get the Blue Ridge Blend) Black Cat Burrito - Everything is good here. (This is a dive bar) Macado's - local/college favorite (You +3 get the Hindenburg sandwich) Capone's Pizza - Chicago style pizza, very good (Big Joe's Buffalo Chicken with pineapple) West Jefferson: Black Jack Pub and Grill - "Best burger in Town" its da best. I think about this burger all the time Havana Cafe- Hole in the wall, but it is worth finding! (Cuban and fried plantains) Fleetwood: Park Vista - I haven't been to the inn but the food is amazing. Jump off the parkway at milepost 268 for a great lunch or dinner Deep Gap: Jim's Produce - its a very nice produce stand. We loved going here, you should go here. get seasonal produce Memorial day until Thanksgiving. Thompson's Seafood and Country Cooking- My husband and his friends alway talk about this place. He always says "It's where the locals go." Go here if that's what you're in to.
  • The place was the perfect size for the two of us and our dog - who loved the yard and stream that ran behind the house. The gates around the deck allowed our dog to play with his toys in a confined area outside while we got to enjoy the hot tub on the cold evenings. The house was so cozy and very clean which made us enjoy the time we spent relaxing at home just as enjoyable as the time we spent exploring the towns nearby! We’re already talking about wanting to go back, and hopefully getting to stay for a longer visit next time!

    Jessica2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • The Parkway cottage was a lovely home away from home. My boyfriend and I stayed here for a snowboarding trip. It was very clean and the hot tub was a fantastic touch(especially during the cold mountain nights)! There was also a fire pit which was nice. Very cute and eclectic decoration, great for the hiking/rock climbing-type. It is very close to the highway which makes access to local towns a breeze! 10/10 would stay again!

    Madeline2020-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • It was an amazing stay. Recommend anyone to stay there for a nice relaxing weekend.

    Sydney2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • This tiny house is great and I hope that we can stay again! We were disappointed that the hot tub had some issues (one of the reasons we rented this place) and it wasn’t ready when we arrived, but it was ready by the 2nd night. The highway noise wasn’t an issue for us, and it was super convenient to go into Jefferson and Boone! The bed is super comfy! The place is decorated nicely and has some really thoughtful touches!

    Flora2020-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • This was a quaint, cute, clean place about 10-15 minutes outside of Boone. We had treats that greeted us when we arrived, a hot tub, comfy bed, stylish space, and access to roku tv, including Netflix! Definitely recommend, the host was so hospitable and we will stay here again! Would recommend for 2 adults, any more would be a little tight.

    Beth2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Just like other reviews, the place is really close to the hwy but far enough from the noise of the cars. Is sparkling clean and has everything you need and some extra nice amenities.

    Alejandro2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • Our time at Parkway Cottage was wonderful. Such a beautiful space and so well thought out. We enjoyed early morning soaks in the hot tub and the incredible ease to jumping onto the Blue Ridge Parkway. The cottage had everything we needed.

This location is a great home base for exploring the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains including the Boone/Blowing Rock area (25-35 mins), N. Wilkesboro (15 mins) and also Yadkin Valley wineries. Access to the Blue Ridge Parkway is less than 15 minutes away. Singing Waters is a small, working farm nestled in the foothills of the Blue Ridge, and is named after the beautiful creek that runs through the property, which can be heard from the cottage deck. • We stayed at Renee’s cottage for a weekend to celebrate my boyfriends birthday. It was a great location to check out West Jefferson and Boone, very close to the parkway and easy to find. We had breakfast provided by Renee both mornings and i highly recommend it! Her scones were delicious and it was so convenient to have it brought right to the door. She was accommodating and quick to answer questions and provide help. The cottage was as described, very clean and homey. Thanks for a great stay!

Whenever we had any issues she was quick to asses it and get it taken care of. Ps. The homegrown/homemade jelly is also great.

  • A great getaway with beautiful views. Truly a cozy cabin tucked in a mountain side, and only about 15 minutes away from the Blue Ridge Parkway. My husband and I stayed with our dog (who especially loved it) over Christmas. We lit a fire every night and we’re able to cook full meals in the cutest little kitchen. Don’t fret if you don’t have plans, the host had plenty of literature and maps on where to go and what to do. 10/10 would book again.

    Cameron2019-12-26T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect for my husband and I and our two dogs to get away for the weekend. Definitely would have felt right if there were any more people/pets. Good location about 25 minutes from downtown Boone and closer to West Jefferson which has a great little downtown worth exploring! We had no issues finding the cabin thanks to the great instructions left on how to get there, however there is no cell service so make sure you either print out or download the keypad code prior to arriving, otherwise you’ll have to drive back down to the main road until you get service again to find it (speaking from experience). We would definitely stay here again.

Glamping Unplugged is primitive camping at an unprecedented level. And we did not spend a mint on this steel dome to disappoint! We have created a space for your much-needed digital detox on a beautiful tract of land that allows for privacy, unlike any other campground. Immerse yourself in nature and unplug ... step a few inches outside of your comfort zone and you will thank us later. Arrive to a king bed with cozy clean sheets steps from a noisy state-stocked trout stream. A high-end cooler is your fridge. A Weber charcoal grill is your kitchen. USB powered lighting and power chargers are provided in addition to linens, pillows, towels and toilet paper. There are screens for the windows and a solar powered fan. We chose the land because it is on a popular, state-stocked trout stream. Outfitters have been sneaking onto your land and using it as their go-to fishing hole with clients for years! We look forward to your exploring the land and making camping and mountain memories. This land is meant to be shared: 1200+ feet of creek frontage, the HUGE 4-story wall of rocks across the creek from the Dome, the cave, the swimming and fishing holes and the waterfalls. We have created a spot you can stay at for days, perfect for the "unplugged" experience. Keep an open mind and simply go with the unplugged, eco-friendly experience!
  • All around awesome experience. Beautiful area and was very peaceful. The dome was clean and had a comfy bed with the best view to wake up to. I will definitely be back!!

    Amanda2019-10-29T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay was perfect :)! Everything was available that we needed. We would love to return here for several days next time we are in the area. Very relaxing and the bed was comfortable.

  • Such a beautiful location and truly unique experience. Easy check in instructions and close to things but still felt remote and private. Great way to camp with a much nicer place to sleep than a tent.

    Jen2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect place to unplug and experience nature. I loved listening to creek and being surrounded by incredible property.

    Summer2019-10-18T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic. Beautiful property, the subtle touches are on point. An exceptional evening. I would highly recommend it!

    Sam2019-10-16T00:00:00Z
  • This place is PERFECTION if you are looking to step up your camping experience. We did not want to leave. The view and sounds from the dome are amazing. We were lucky enough to be there in the fall so the leaves changing was an added bonus. It was a very romantic experience waking up to that view in the morning. We loved the fire pit and had a wonderful time cooking our meals in the fire.

    David And Elizabeth2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • What a fun little get away spot! Just went for a night and was able to enjoy the property during the day. The dome was adorable and felt secure and safe. The bed is super comfortable too. Reminder to guests to bring drinking water. Charcoal is provided for the grill which was easy to use. It was pretty damp outside so struggled getting the fire pit started but it was fine. Would suggest bringing some dry logs if you want to have a good fire all evening. The property felt very private and the access to the river was lovely. Plenty of spots to get in the water. Would defiantly stay again.

    Carson2019-10-11T00:00:00Z
  • This place was awesome, just what we we’re looking for. Very clean and quiet and away from all the noise and traffic, but still close enough to get to town.

Get back to nature in this cozy eco-friendly solar assisted, spring fed cottage in the mountains. Great mountain views and sunsets. Surrounded by Nature, Mtns to Sea trail, Blue Ridge Parkway and a Christmas tree farm. Plenty of country to explore and outdoor sports to enjoy. Please note: located near a working Christmas tree farm and natural spring water collection point.
Quaint newly built cabin with open living design. Solar powered with electrical back up, spring fed water source and modern propane appliances. Small electrical appliances are allowed while house is on backup electricity. Enjoy this alternative experience. Please note: Cabin is located near a working Christmas tree farm and natural spring water collection point. **One dog limit with weight of 40lbs. $35 additional non-refundable pet fee.
The cabin is nestled on the edge of an old forest on a hillside with views of mountain ranges, pastures and Christmas trees. The owners live on the same land and operate a small seasonal farm. The natural spring water is also collected and bottled onsite.
  • We had a great time, the cabin was nice, clean and cozy. The view was very pleasant, you can see the blue ridge parkway on the ridge across the way. The kitchen had enough to cook most meals just note there is no microwave so plan accordingly. If you go in the warmer months there is a grill outside and a nice deck. My favorite part was to find you can hike up the road on the property, about a mile, and reach the parkway and the Mountains To Sea trail. There is a lookout just up the road with a great view. Looking forward to coming back in the warmer months for more great views and great hikes.

  • Very good at communicating about check in even offered advice on road conditions after snow came through. Perfect mountain cabin to be away from everything

    Morgan2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • This is one of our favorite places to stay in book, a great price, great location, and within 10-15 minutes of downtown Boone, and about 3 minutes from the Blue Ridge Parkway (our favorite past time in Boone, driving and taking the view in). We will defiantly be back to stay.

    Kayla2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • This cabin was very comfortable. We felt remote, but we were in both Boone and Blowing Rock in no time. Beautiful view.

    Julie2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful, peaceful cabin with a great view. The cabin itself exceeded our expectations. Very cozy with all the amenities you need. We arrived a bit earlier than expected and they were very accommodating and let us go on in. The dive up to the cabin could be a bit tricky if you don'thave a high profile vehicle. 4 wheel drive recommended, but you could make it without one just carefully. Can't wait to visit again.

    Roberta2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Cozy cabin off the beaten path. It's a great spot if you want to relax and get away for the weekend, but still be close enough to Boone and Blowing Rock to venture out.

Our place is at 2,500' elevation, ceiling fans to keep you cool. For winter, central heat or a fireplace keeps you snug and warm. It is so quiet you can hear wild turkeys crossing the driveway. It is close to the Blue Ridge Parkway, New River, the Wilkesboros, West Jefferson, Boone (30 min.), Virginia Creeper Trail (1 hr.), W. Kerr Scott Lake (16 miles with great mountain biking). We think you will enjoy the coziness and mountain views. Our place is good for couples and solo adventurers.
The bedroom looks out into a leafy space. Quiet sitting on the deck reveals bird sounds and sometimes wild turkey, deer or foxes. Rarely, a shy black bear makes an appearance in the blackberry thatches that line the roadway. At twilight you sometimes see a bat or two chasing bugs. A dark night showcases lightening bugs and millions of stars. It is nature alive, but only a fifteen minute drive to Coffee House, Food Lion and Bojangles Chicken.
We are only two miles from the Blue Ridge Parkway with hiking on the Mountain to Sea trail. We are about 20 minutes to the New River for canoeing or tubing. Other water sports are available at W.Kerr Scott Lake, which has several parks, boat and kayak launching.
  • This was my second stay at the cabin and of all the AirBNBs I’ve stayed in, this one is always my favorite. Jerre and Madeline are so sweet and the cabin is always clean and quiet, homey and comfortable. Can’t wait to come back in the spring!

    Kelly2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin is quiet, clean with amazing views and sounds. It was a perfect retreat with great hosts. I highly recommend it.

  • This place is very clean and very peaceful

    Michelle2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • Jerre’s cabin was great to stay in for the weekend. It is cozy and the views from the deck are amazing. The weather was great while we were there, and even though it rained for a little bit we could still be outside due to the covered deck.

    Alaina2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • What a wonderful stay! Our hosts simply could not have been more hospitable or done a nicer job on this gorgeous cabin. We are most definitely making this a semi-regular vacation retreat!

    Laurie2019-09-27T00:00:00Z
  • I had a wonderful time staying here. Madeline and Jerre were so kind and helpful, and their cabin is top notch! I arrived a little late and they were outside waiting for me when I pulled up. They told me all I needed to know about my stay there and were very helpful with my travel interests. The cabin is immaculate and includes many amenities; so don't worry if you forget some of your supplies. They probably have you covered. The view from the cabin is so nice and a joy to wake up to in the morning. The stars at night were incredible; I stayed up for hours stargazing. The location is great too. It's about 15 minutes away from the grocery store and gas station, and very close to the Blue Ridge Parkway. You'll enjoy driving all around the area. Over all I'd highly recommend this cabin, but don't stay too long because I want to come back!

    Drew2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful stay and lovely cabin, exceeded our expectations with all the extras and would definitely visit again.

    Michael2019-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • This is a real gem of a place for a couple travelling to the Glendale Springs or the High County area of NC. Unlike most AirBnB ads, the pictures do NOT overstate the comfort of this cabin. We were greeted by our host, Madeline, who introduced us to the many amenities, including a well provisioned breakfast set up and a private outdoor shower (which we strongly recommend). She is the best AirBnB host we've every interacted with! While there is no air conditioning, there's plenty of fans and A/C is usually not needed at this altitude. My wife and I have stayed at several AirBnBs, and this was one of our best experiences. (Ok, so you've decided to book: Here's a suggestion if you have a smaller car -- like an Prius. You may want to stop, halfway down the driveway, and park in the shelter to the right. While I was able to manuever my Prius up the full driveway, it may be a challenge for others in damp conditions or if your tire tread is lacking ... this should not be a deterrent for renting, the "optional" shelter is only a few feet up the driveway.)

    Hallie2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • David and Sharon’s cabin is lovely and exceeded our expectations. We particularly appreciated the well-equipped kitchen, the fireplace, and their restaurant recommendations. This place is at the top of our list for our next visit to the area!

    Sara2020-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful cabin nestled in the woods at the top of the mountain. It was kept very clean and had everything you would need. The hosts were very responsive even when we had a minor issue with the remote control. The fire pit area is nice and conveniently located up a few steps off the deck close to the cabin. There was ample firewood stocked for our use. I recommend checking out the private lake in the neighborhood. Would definitely recommend for anyone looking to stay near Boone or West Jefferson.

    Josh2020-02-18T00:00:00Z

  • The Misty Mountain Retreat is the perfect spot to take a relaxing vacation and get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. It seamlessly skirts the line between rustic and modern, making it feel very cozy and effortlessly functional. The location is unbelievably lovely and serene while being within easy driving distance of everything you need, making it feel secluded but not so much that you feel like you need to live like Bear Grylls... unless you are into that sort of thing. The cabin was immaculately clean and is well stocked with a variety of dishes and cookware so you can easily make your own meals in the beautiful kitchen. They even had some staples like oatmeal, rice, seasonings, etc which helps to cut down on the amount of redundant stuff you need to purchase while in the area. We really just cannot say enough great things about our visit, and look forward to staying at Shawn’s Misty Mountain Retreat again in the future.

  • I sat out in a parking for almost 2 hours trying to find a nice place and somewhere that accepted pets. Everyone was charging ridiculous prices to bring a dog and cleaning prices were like $200.00 for a day!!!! THEN I CAME ACROSS SHAWN'S CRIB!!!! Well let me tell you what, not only was his place beautiful but there was NO PET FEE and I drove like a hour. It was so worth it. I had no trouble finding it up in the mountains. Shawn was super cool and he mapped out everything at his house for me. I didn't have to search or stress how to operate things. He mapped out everything!!!! Not to mention, his crib was beautiful and half the price as others listed.

During COVID19 social distancing. I am blocking three days before and after each stay. Of course if you are sick please reschedule. This will make our tiny cabin a safe getaway during this time. A couple things you should know. This is basically a spectacular glamping experience. I love the bees and pollinators so I plant wildflowers and do not mow much on the greater property. The ladder to the loft is steep so always face the ladder when going up or down. There is a futon downstairs if you do not want to use the ladder. Well behaved kids and dogs are an option if you contact me ahead of time. We have a small gas grill, a toaster oven, mini fridge, electric kettle, lights, heater, a campfire circle and a composting toilet. No running water but plenty of water is provided. The shower and facilities with running water are at the main house with your own private entrance. There is some debris on the property due to a tornado last year (see photos) The driveway is gravel and a bumpy mountain road so take it slow. Be sure that you get detailed directions from me because google may not find us. If there is snow you will need 4wheel drive, please check with me about conditions.
Our tiny cabin is right on The Blue ridge parkway with the Mountain to Sea trail just at the top of the drive. We are located about 30 minutes from Boone, West Jefferson, Blowing Rock and Todd NC. Just down the road you will find the New River, rafting, the frescoes at Obids, our neighbors offer Yoga, ballroom dancing, paragliding and you can sign up for a chance to visit The Dark Sky observatory.
  • Beautiful stay! Smells like cedar has everything you need. We had plans to leave early to go hiking but decided to stay late instead and relax with a beautiful view. Highly recommend.

    Dora2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • I came here on a solo trip to get away for a few days and I can not believe how refreshed I felt after. The location is beautiful, and it's a short drive from some very pretty hikes such as Cascade falls. I loved the tiny cabin and it further pushed my HGTV dreams of owning one myself. Cooking was easy on the gas grill, even in winter, and when I was feeling adventurous I cooked over the campfire a bit. The dog there (i didn't catch their name) was so polite and playful, we played fetch around the cabin and he watched me cook my meals. I'm allergic to cats so I couldn't play with Finn as much, but I still enjoyed his company while building a campfire and got to pet him a bit with gloves on. My only recommendation for visitors is confirm that you can make it down the driveway in bad weather conditions. Luckily I was able to drive through mud even in my hatchback because it is manual, however I would be cautious nonetheless.

  • Such a great escape and beautiful area! I loved bringing my youngest daughter (age 20) here so we could ski in nearby Blowing Rock. We loved how cozy it was and how quiet the area is at night. Everything was pristine and well thought out. Bedding was so soft, gorgeous view, and the little kitchen was just perfect. One of our favorite parts were being outside at night because you can look up and see all the stars so clearly. What a respite from the hustle and bustle of the city! I plan to come back next year, as soon as I can get my calendar together. Don’t miss this wonderful experience!!

Barefoot Cabin (BC) is a quiet, little, cabin tucked away in the Majestic Mountain gated community, near the Blue Ridge mountains, made to unplug, reflect & unwhine. Min's, from Wilkesboro, Boone, & attractions. Unique features include custom spiral staircase, Kitchen Pergula/ceramic woodstove w/ a flare of rustically, comfortable features. Special thank you to all who visited BC this past year. Experiences left in the little brown book truly reflect how special this place is. Thanks Eddie
Features a Pullout couch, Queen size bed, washer, (no dryer) shower, wood stove and stove, deck, fridge, microwave, T.V. tracks two local channels, and a DVD player. No internet service is available. Remember, it is modern rustic to get away form IoT. But if you need access to WIFI, you can use a Verizon Jetpack and you will be good to go.
The valley/mountains view are very cool. Don't be surprised if you happen to see wild turkey and other wildlife out there. Legend has it Daniel Boone hunted throughout the area. There are also waterfalls throughout the subdivision. Lot's of hiking to do.
  • enjoyed it!

    Rebecca2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Had a wonderful time at this charming cabin! Highly recommended! We were on a little family vacation to see the mountains and this cabin was in a great spot. Neighborhood was excellent! It is gated and the other houses have lots of space/woods between them, so everyone had privacy. Nice views from the cabin and really spectacular views from walking around the neighborhood. We traveled to Boone, Blowing Rock, and Linville caverns easily (under an hour). The cabin itself is so cute and fun! Great deck out back, lots of nice comfortable space inside. I will clarify the sleeping arrangement (because I was confused after reading the ad) there is a queen/full size bed in its own little bedroom on the first floor, along with a full bathroom. Upstairs in the loft there is a bunk bed, and downstairs there is also a pull out sofa. For our situation (traveling with a 7 year old), we were able to squeeze in a twin air mattress at the foot of the bed downstairs. Could have easily fit a large air mattress upstairs in the loft, but our kid wouldn't stay up there alone. Additionally, there are 2 chairs in the bonus reading nook area off the kitchen that are great for a nap! There is a dining table that sits 4-5 comfortably.

  • Such a wonderful trip. Eddie worked so hard on the cabin and to see what he did is just amazing. Would love to just sit a talk for a day on his journey remodeling the place, but he was able to do that through photos he placed around. Only needed to bring food and toiletries. He almost had everything else there for you. Will definitely be coming back!

  • Place is even more awesome in person! Eddie clearly has a passion for this place and it shows. View off the back deck is an incredible Mountain View. The space was clean and comfortable, with everything you need and nothing you don't. Clean modern bathroom, comfortable and supportive bed, strong wifi. Bring slippers or socks in winter, the floor that's not covered in rugs can be cold. The highlight was relaxing surrounded by cute and peaceful farm animals - lambs on one side, Olivia the pig on the other, and four farm dogs running around. Perfect spot close by to more than a dozen wineries. We would definitely stay again!

  • Amazing and unique Airbnb. So glad we decided to stay here rather than just a plan hotel room. We appreciated the decor of the entire farm house and really felt at home here. The place was also sparkling clean! Would highly recommend to anyone in the area.

    Peter2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • This is a “must stay” location! The pastoral setting and cozy, clean cabin makes for a perfect decompression environment. The lambs are in a field right beside the cabin and cattle are nearby. Good restaurants are a short drive away. You will not regret booking this Airbnb!

    Billie2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful place to stay! Close to a few great vineyards. Perfect for a girls trip to the area! Would definitely stay here again!

    Lauren2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Quaint farmhouse lodging with well-appointed interior. We really enjoyed our stay, the inside was simple and well thought-out with a large comfortable bed and a smaller extra bed (we did not use). It was fun to be around the farm animals (pig, cows, sheep, cats and dogs) who were not obnoxious but were nearby to explore and enjoy. We woke up to watch the sunrise and enjoyed the rustic-chic accommodations. Was the perfect retreat from the local wineries.

    Chris2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • This place was incredible. Right in the middle of the farm with all the animals so close. We normally try to pack our days with things to do when on vacation, but because this place was so great, we spent a lot of time relaxing and hanging out here. Extremely clean & comfortable and would definitely stay again.

    Alex2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • Jennifer was wonderful at communication & made sure that I didn’t have any issues with checking into the Airbnb. The views at this location are spectacular. The room was spotless & had amazing amenities. Jennifer even let me & my significant other pet the lamb on the farm. As soon as you arrive to the Airbnb, you’ll receive a warm welcome from a friendly pig lol. The experience was truly amazing & I am grateful for Jennifer’s wonderful hospitality. I strongly recommend booking here. I will definitely book here again in the future without a doubt.

  • This house is on a beautiful property! Nancy was a wonderful host, she gave us a tour of the house and even baked cinnamon buns!

    Krystal2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • This location is located in a very private and beautiful setting, extremely peaceful. The host met me outside, at a 3am arrival, and went as far to have muffins made and ready for the morning hours. The pictures on Airnb are beautiful but their is much more offered than what is displayed. The bedroom has a very "homey" feel and is very comfortable. My dog loved running safely outside and snuggling up on the recliner inside. I highly recommend this location. Great value at a great price!

  • Nancy and her place were fabulous! We had low expectations after reading some of the reviews but Nancy has really put forth effort and made our stay beyond what we expected. Great big space both up and downstairs. Beatufil furniture and great sleeping arrangements. Fully stocked kitchen should you decide to stay in and cook! Quaint little town that was a delight to explore. Nancys property is great for a countryside retreat or a day of mountain adventure! Stone mountain was 30 min away but a great days axfivity. One parkway entrance was about 15 min away but close to the VA border for even more fun.

    Benjamin2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • Nancy's place was great! She anticipated our family needs before we even arrived. We are incredibly thankful for that. The property is beautiful and was exactly what we needed.

Our place is close to nightlife and parks. You’ll love our place because of the coziness, the views, and the location. Our place is good for couples, solo adventurers, and business travelers.
This is a 2 bedroom small cottage where my partner and I live with our dog (Maggie). The guest bedroom is located downstairs within the cottage. The bedroom has a full size bed and furnished. This cottage was built in 1935 with beautiful old country charm!
  • Brandon’s place was great! Small but super cozy, clean and perfect for one or two people and our host was very friendly! Maggie and the other puppy were both so cute, we loved them!

  • My fiancé and I decided on a spontaneous overnight trip to the mountains and Sky Retreat was the perfect place to stay. The cabins are lovely! The property is absolutely stunning. It’s in a perfect location. All of the host and co-host were very kind and quickly responded to our needs. We greatly appreciate the amazing hospitality we were given.

    Skylar2020-03-14T00:00:00Z
  • This was a last minute trip that I planned for my husband and two dogs. We were so fortunate to have been one of the only people staying in the resort, allowing our dogs to run the property and have a wonderful time. Beth left a light on for us so we knew which cabin was ours since it was late and hard to see. The scenery was beautiful and we can’t wait to go back.

This house was designed and built just for your perfect getaway. It's nestled high up on our family land with hundreds of acres of pure nature surrounding, you can see three different states, the ski slopes and a perfect sunset every single night right in front of you! The main floor has a super cozy living, dining and kitchen followed by the bathroom and bedroom with a king sized bed. The upstairs is a children's loft with 3 single beds.
The space mocks a tiny house, but with a larger foot print. The whole property along with 3 other similar units can be rented for weddings, gatherings or whatever you choose. The 4 total cabins sleep 15 comfortable and there is a flat knoll for event tents.
Our cabin is located way back in the woods behind other properties and off the maps. Please make sure to read our directions, thanks

  • If your wanting a nice, quiet get away with a view that you can’t really find other places, this would be your place! Jason was fantastic with communication and even went out of his way to make sure we had a grill and propane to cook some steaks on so we didn’t have to haul our own! The house was called “tiny” but it was more than enough room for my wife and I, along with another couple. The house was about 20 mins from Boone which was convenient and the directions to find it were excellent. Highly recommend!

    Phil2020-03-01T00:00:00Z

Lazy Daze Cabin is near West Jefferson, just below a state park atop Mount Jefferson. Our private cabin is in a quiet spot nestled in the woods just minutes from hiking & biking trails, golfing, canoeing, tubing, snow skiing, and more, but is a million miles away from the 9-to-5 grind.
Come relax and listen to the wind in the trees, enjoy the mountain views, or splash in the nearby New River. Our cabin has all the comforts of home including pots/pans, bed and bath linens, big-screen TVs, cable, Netflix, Wi-Fi, and unlimited long distance on the phones. Pretty much everything but food, with even that just a short drive away to several restaurants and three grocery stores. *Note: To minimize spread of coronavirus, the Ashe County Board of Commissioners is temporarily banning overnight accommodations from March 26 - May 8 UNLESS you are visiting Ashe County for business, medical, construction, emergency services, or other related services. If this applies to you, we're happy to help you with a great place to stay. if not, please plan your stay for after May 8th once the order is lifted. Thank you for your understanding!
While other small towns have grown into cities or simply faded away, West Jefferson has remained the small town that is quintessential Americana. Our town is nestled within the majestic Blue Ridge Mountains of northwest North Carolina. Listed on the National Register of Historical Places, West Jefferson not only presents beautiful landscape and cool mountain breezes, but also gives visitors a sense of history as well as a mix of modern culture. Simply stroll about our town and discover what is so special about West Jefferson.
  • The cabin was spotless and well taken care of. Located just off the main highways, but deep enough in the woods where there’s no city noise. Gary was very knowledgeable of the local amenities and made sure we had everything we needed. I recommend this place to anyone wanting to travel to the Boone / Jefferson area.

    Matt2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed here for a wedding at the Twikenham House this past weekend and it was perfect! Great location relative to the venue! Amazing property! The hosts are five star all the way and very accommodating! Couple notes for future guests. The coffee makers are both K cup and there is a 12 cup machine. There were lots of coffee filters at the house in the ceramic jar by the coffee machine so you can skip buying those. If you use the upstairs jacuzzi bath in the winter you will kill ALL of the hot water for about an hour. We assumed this would be the case and we proved ourselves accurate by running a bath on our last day after 2 of us had already left for early morning flights. If everyone uses the downstairs shower you will have no issues with hot water. We had 6 adults shower the morning of the wedding proving this. If you are looking at multiple places to stay in the area look no more! This is the cabin you want to rent!

  • Lazy Daze is a wonderful little cabin. It’s tastefully decorated and very cozy. The kitchen is well-stocked and the location is close to everything you need. We loved exploring the shops in West Jefferson. We even enjoyed a drive up Mt. Jefferson. Gary and Kari were great hosts and very easy to communicatw with throughout our stay!

  • Loved this little cabin. Extremely easy to get to, but tucked into Mount Jefferson so you get plenty of privacy. Hosts are very quick to respond if needed. They leave you alone so you can enjoy your stay. House is clean and has nice cabin touches. This is the second time we have stayed here, and would recommend this place.

  • The treehouse was amazing. We had some snow the night we arrived and the next morning and it was magical. It was great to be among the trees and just read and nap by the wood stove. Due to the cold temps there was no water running to the house, but Mike was great and left us plenty of water and we could refill if needed. Mike is a great host and we are already planning to go back!

  • What a fantastic place to stay!

    Aaron2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Was an amazing stay would 10/10 recommend

    Jordan2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • We were looking for something off the beaten path that was unique and cozy. This did not disappoint. Living on the coast my daughters had never seen snow and we were fortunate to see snow flurries and glorious views without having to leave the treehouse. Board games were played, fires were made, and we enjoyed a much needed digital detox. We took a short drive to the ski resort to check out snow tubing and hit up a local spot for the most delicious breakfast (Hillbilly Grill). We even ventured out once more for craft brews and foosball (Pedalin Pig). Mike is an amazing host and gave us some tips for places to go and had ample firewood to make sure we were safe and warm.

    Cristina2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect spot for a retreat! Off the beaten path, but still close enough to wander into town. Mike is a super helpful host. 10/10 would book again

  • If you're even remotely interested in staying in a tree house you need to book here.

    Elise2019-12-25T00:00:00Z
  • The treehouse was beyond what we could have imagined for our Thanksgiving getaway. We wanted to disconnect and experience something totally new, and this provided everything and beyond our expectations. The kitchen (and grill) was fully stocked for all of our Thanksgiving feast needs. The wood burning fireplace provided heat and comfort the entire stay. The bed was extremely comfortable and waking up with the views of the most incredible sunrise from the bed was something we'll never forget. Let's also not forget about the outdoor shower (very fun) and the composting toilet (very adventurous). The land was very private and had a pond with 7 ducks that greeted us when we arrived. Location was perfect, we drove about 45 minutes to the Rough Ridge Overlook hike that we thoroughly enjoyed. We will truly miss this AirBnb.

    Stephanie2019-11-29T00:00:00Z
  • This place is wonderful gem right off the Blue Ridge Parkway. We were there on a cold foggy night but the wood stove made for a perfect cozy spot. The bathroom is out off the deck but it was super clean and easy to access. Even on a cold morning, the outdoor shower with steamy water and a view into the trees was spectacular. The kitchen has everything you’d need to cook a great meal. Mike is a fantastic and helpful host. Highly recommend this place.

Country subdivision setting with well spaced homes on heavily wooded lots lending a feeling of privacy to the area. You can really only see one other house from our property; we see more deer than neighbors. Seasonal Christmas tree mountain views from front deck.
  • Buck Mountain Lodge was the perfect place for a getaway weekend. It is both cozy and classy, an easy drive into town, and the fireplace is the perfect touch in the winter. Mary was the perfect host!

  • Second time staying here. This is a great air BnB

    Thomas2020-02-03T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful space! We were seeking a peaceful weekend in a stylish space and that's exactly what we got. Mary's place is clean, comfortable, and more than enough space for two adults. We loved the wood-burning fireplace and were so appreciative of the bin of wood she provides for each stay during the fall and winter. Mary responded quickly to questions and made sure we had everything we needed while allowing us to have as much privacy as we wanted. We hope to return to West Jefferson and will definitely request Mary's place when we do!

    Gina2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great cozy cabin setting with easy access to Boone or Wilkesboro. All the amenities needed, beautifully decorated and comfortable. I was impressed with the town of W Jefferson and all that it offered. Great way to bring in the New Year! Thanks to Mary for her hospitality and opening up her home.

    Lisa2020-01-03T00:00:00Z
  • Mary’s place worked great for our family, and we enjoyed our stay. Mary was easy to communicate with and made everything seamless.

  • The wood burning fireplace creates a cozy and warm space!

  • Very nice place. Very quite and close to town. Home was nice and beds were comfy.

  • Our stay at Mary’s was awesome. I told her that we were visiting for my daughter’s birthday and she had a birthday sign hanging in the entry way :) The space is cozy and clean, the view is beautiful and the local spots provided everything we needed. I’d highly recommend staying here.

  • What a great house!! Like all the reviews say, the view is the best mountain view we’ve seen! And you get it every night! It was so good, it gave the perfect backdrop for me to propose! (She said yes!!) They provide cornhole, there are some games, a charcoal grill, hot tub, they have it all! Stink bugs are a constant guest in the house but they let you know that in the description so it’s just part of the package! Also as stated, it’s a good 35 minute drive to any store or restaurant so this is the perfect spot to bring your food and drinks and enjoy this mountain oasis!

  • Had a really good stay. Asked if we could extend our check out time and it was not a problem. The place had a really good energy to the house that you could feel the house was decorated with care and love. Will stay again and might make it every quarter of the year come for another get away. Loved the place. If you are thinking about staying here.... do it! You will not be disappointed

  • This cabin was phenomenal. Met and exceeded our expectations. The owners were very responsive to all our questions even allowing us to a later checkout and PPV. I highly recommend this place for a home away from home for its charm and a million-dollar view. If the opportunity presented itself again we would rent this place again.

The Best of Both Worlds: Natural Mountain Setting Close to Great Amenities. New mountain home on lovely, level lot with stunning views and abundant amenities which include community pool, lakes, boats, clubhouse, trout streams, walking paths, game room, tennis and basketball court, playground, fire pits, and grills.
A North Carolina landscape architect has stated that our house is on one of the most ideal lots for a mountain house he has ever seen. We are located on the flat crest of a mountain which allows for a level, spacious yard with dramatic drop offs creating pristine mountain views in three directions. On the slopes surrounding the yard is an orchard with over fifty varieties of fruit trees whose fruit can sampled right off the tree. Our home is surrounded by beautiful hardwood forests. We are one minute from a community pool, lake with paddleboats, clubhouse, walking paths, and other amenities which are available to our guests. To the east of our lot is Elk Creek which is a class "A" stream stocked each spring with trout. When the water is high one can kayak this gorgeous creek banked with the blossoms of Mountain Laurel and Rhododendron. To the west of our lot is Laurel Creek which is one of the most enchanting waterways on the planet with its crystal clear water, jeweled trout, wildflowers, rapids, and waterfalls. Our home is newly constructed, energy efficient, and made from nontoxic and natural materials. The upstairs is closed off, uninhabited, and unrentable because it is being used for storage. Because of this, we have not described or photographed it in any part of this listing. What we are renting is the downstairs which has two bedrooms (one queen bed and two single beds). There is a large bathroom, a laundry room, a fully stocked eat-in kitchen, and a living area. House has Direct Satellite TV and Satellite Internet. Appliances include a refrigerator, stove, microwave, toaster oven, dishwasher, coffee maker, washer, and dryer. All rooms have gracious windows which allow for an abundance of light and offer excellent mountain views. In addition, the spacious living area has a sleeper sofa that can sleep two. The living room opens out onto an expansive covered porch which runs the length of the house. From the porch one can look out across a valley and into a mountain range over which the sun and moon rise.
We are located in a several hundred acre gated mountain community close to Boone and Blowing Rock North Carolina. Community amenities include lake, pool, walking paths, clubhouse, game rooms, and tennis court. As a guest, you are welcome to use all of these amenities. Our house is on our own thirteen acre private wooded tract.
  • My husband and I just spent a week at Fern Hill and it totally exceeded my expectations! Right from the start everything was great. The guard gate even spent 20 minutes giving us great ideas on things to do nearby! The house was clean and quaint and everything that George explains in the house information is accurate. The views are unlike anything I’ve seen before and we felt so safe the entire time. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

    Kristin2019-11-30T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay! It is in a gated neighborhood so it feels safe, but the lots are big and spaced out so you don’t see or hear the neighbors. Very quiet and peaceful. The mountain views from the front porch are amazing. I enjoyed drinking coffee on the front porch and watching the sunrise. There were even several deer that came by every morning.

    Jeanette2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • Enjoyed our quick get-a-way this charming home. Had everything we needed and enjoyed the peace and quiet. My boys enjoyed the clubhouse as well. Hope to return in the future.

Hidden mountain escape in the coolest corner of the North Carolina Blue Ridge Mountains. Enjoy breathtaking sunrise views from the deck or the living room. Wood burning fireplace makes for memorable, cool and crisp evenings. Sleeps up to 8. Pet friendly (dogs only).
  • Thomas was very responsive & helpful. Check in was super easy. The cabin was amazing with the even better views. Can’t wait to come back with the family next year!

  • This cabin was truly a gem. Far enough away to feel like you are on a mountain retreat but definitely close enough to grocery stores, drug stores, and downtown for things you need. The cabin was clean and had all the amenities we needed. The owner even went to the cabin and turn the heat and some lights on for us because our arrival would be late at night on a cold night. Very thoughtful! Communication was quick and check in & check out process was clear and not an issue at all. My family (5 people) and I enjoyed our mountain getaway over Thanksgiving very much!! Highly recommend. :)

  • Tom is a great host! The pictures do not do it justice it’s absolutely BEAUTIFUL in person! I would though probably about 10 minutes out call Tom directly to receive directions. The GPS will take you to the back side of the house, but you will not be able to drive that route. Other than that, the community is beautiful!!! Take his recommendations. He knows what he’s talking about!!!

Looking to escape the fast-paced life of the city? This private 1920 farmhouse off the Parkway is the perfect solution. This 10 acre retreat takes you back to a time when life was simple, while you relax in the hot tub, listening to the rushing stream. In 2019, we have expanded our vision and have built a timber frame barn on a neighboring site (300 ft from the house), featuring an event site (Wonderlust Acres) for weddings, events, etc. The Stargazer calendar will be blocked when events happen.
Relax on the covered front porch overlooking the pond and pasture, and listen to the soothing sounds of the rushing stream and the joyful chorus of nature. Curl up with a book in one of the home's cozy nooks, or go for a invigorating morning walk along the gravel roads or trails through the many acres of mature forests that surround the house. Kick back in the hot tub on the cool nights and enjoy the firefly show, start a warm fire in the fire pit, or just lay out under the stars of the protected Dark Skies area to take in the magnificence of creation. hot tub on the back deck, high speed wi-fi, firepit and patio stone fire pit and charcoal grill, 10 acres to wander, complete with 3 ponds, a walking bridge, and 2 covered pavilions. As of the Fall 2019, we are offering a glamping loft in the pond pavilion that sleeps 4 more guests on 2 full mattresses. There are also 2 guest rooms in the barn (sleeping 2 on pull-out sofas in each) with access to the barn bathrooms and outdoor showers. Once these are ready, guests at Stargazer will be able to view other calendars to coordinate their trip, or to have the option of bringing larger groups. The property is just 2 miles from the Blue Ridge Parkway and 20-25 miles from West Jefferson and Boone, 40 minutes from Blowing Rock
2 miles from the Blue Ridge Parkway, 25 minutes to Boone or West Jefferson, sits this very private oasis. The picturesque farmhouse is tucked back on a hill overlooking the large trout stream and 3 ponds set within the expansive landscape. Truly paradise.

The cozy cottage is located in the country side just off 421 on Boone trail, along the Lewis Fork Creek, in Wilkes county. Located in the foothills of the Blue ridge mountains. The cozy cottage has been in our family for three generations. We live just out of sight on up the drive. You can enjoy your privacy but if you need anything we are near by. We look forward to meeting you upon your arrival !
We like to also have a special treat upon your arrival for you to enjoy, which changes from time to time
Peaceful country setting, Beautiful in all seasons. Nearby the gorgeous Blue Ridge Parkway. Boone & Blowing Rock, great for shopping. On up the road is Grandfather Mountain with it's mile high swinging bridge which is very scenic. We have the Apple Festival the first weekend in October. Always fun with lots of crafts to see. Music to listen too and unique things to buy. Lots of food. In April we have the world famous MerleFest ! Nearby lake if you like to fish or do water sports. Also at certain times of the year we have outdoor dramas.
  • Our second time here! We needed a place to stay for a month while we were waiting to get into our apartment and liked it here so much the first time, we came back! We had everything we needed and it was a wonderful, cozy stay! We would certainly come back if we ever needed!

    Samantha2019-12-31T00:00:00Z
  • WOW! This is the best AirBnB experience I have ever had! Never have I ever had a host who was so thoughtful. I appreciated the small touches! We had snacks and drinks upon our arrival and she checked in to make sure everything was okay! The space was so clean and cozy. I will most certainly be back. What a wonderful find!

  • Connie made me feel at home and very welcomed. Staying in Connie's Cottage was real a delight. The atmosphere is perfect -- it is cozy and inviting with tasteful decor. If you need a place to get away from it all, this is a place to relax. The cottage is tucked away from city life in the foothills. During late evenings, you can faintly see the milky way and many stars, hear the night wildlife, smell the forest trees, and hear the river as you sit on the porch. Very peaceful. I would come back. A note: There are two white cottages with green shutters in the area. My GPS took me directly to the 1st one. Ignore it. Drive a little further up the road and you will see a sign and decor around Connie's Cottage.

    Donniece2019-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • Cozy Cottage was a quiet, serene place to relax. Enjoyed the comfort and thoughtfulness that Connie put into the furnishings and decor. Would definately stay in this home away from home again.

  • This tiny home was amazing. If you are a Wizard of Oz fan such as myself, it is a must stay! The decorations were amazing and it was super clean. The outdoor shower is great and there is hot water instantly. I loved the focus on detail and the area was quiet yet I did not feel isolated. Great place to make a fire and just relax. The mural and artwork were just amazing! I would highly recommend this tiny home!

  • Great place loved it.

    Katie2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • One thing to understand is that this is Glamping. It is sheltered camping with an outside shower, an outside bathroom/outhouse, and it is not heated nor air conditioned. I felt that it was clean, safe, and comfortable. It runs off of solar power. Do not expect to leave every light in the house on all night. Don't think that you're going to have television, a stove, nor heat, nor air conditioning, because that is not what you are paying for. This is feinexpensive camping, with a roof over your head and a comfortable jQcomplaints. I would not hesitate to book this tiny house again. The hospitality was great. I was greeted by the husband and wife team, whom explained where to get wifi, and how to use the shower etc. Good people. No complaints. It's a Very affordable option in the West Jefferson, NC area.

  • Debra was so responsive and accommodating. I was just passing through and reached out to book same day. The shower is great and the place is exactly as I expected. I would stay again!

Get away from your busy life, and come relax in nature. Get back to the basics, while staying in a uniquely designed tiny house in the heart of the Ripshin mountains. There is also a private wood-burning sauna on the property that you're able to reserve upon your arrival.
The Tiny House was designed and built by architect, Jesse Plaster. It's a unique cozy loft-style design, set back in the woods on our property. It's purposely placed next to a creek, with a nice stone fire ring to really enjoy the outdoors. Also next to the house are fire roads that allow you to hike the Ripshin Mountains. If you have more than 3 people in your party, you're more than welcome to pitch additional tents. the cost is $10 per tent each night. Children under the age of 10 are welcome to camp, but we do not allow them to sleep upstairs in the loft. It's an open loft, so it's too risky for them to fall from the 2nd level.
The Yadkin River is near by, and so is Boone and Blowing Rock. If you like mountain biking, bring your bike to ride Kerr Scott, or Zacks Fork trails. Also, check out the workshops at Pattersonschoolfoundation.org They offer sustainable living classes such as cheese making, mushroom foraging, blacksmithing, soap making, kimchi making, etc... It's a short drive from the house, otherwise, you can walk there through the woods. Last but not least, there is a wood-burning private sauna that you're able to reserve upon arrival! Come enjoy our Happy Valley!
  • A perfect mountain getaway. Beautiful location, secluded. Right next to a gentle creek, with a hammock, fire pit, this place has it all! Topped off with excellent tips on the house and the area, and a hostess that goes above and beyond. Left some items behind and she offered to ship them the next day. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience.

  • This is such a beautiful place to stay. It was raining for most of our short trip so we couldn't explore much around the cabin but what we did see was great. The inside of the tiny house was absolutely perfect and stocked with all the basics (towels, silverware, dishes, games, books, etc). Angela had suggestions on places to check out around the area and made us feel very welcome.

    Emily2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • We had an amazing stay at the tiny house. The place was roomier than we anticipated and had everything we needed to cook. The land is beautiful and there is a nice little hike to a small waterfall. We enjoyed being able to have our dog with us and truly let her stretch her legs on the land, she splashed through the creek even in the freezing temps! We certainly hope to return!

"A View for Two" is a rustic, custom-built tiny house on wheels that's perfect for a couple's getaway or solo adventure. Huge windows allow you to take in the expansive views of Grandfather Mountain and countless other peaks. The spacious deck and firepit allow you to further enjoy the vistas while relaxing in nature. Comforts like a heat pump, WiFi, smart TV, Instant Pot oven/air fryer, and induction burners allow you to get the most out of indoor living too!
"A View for Two" is part of a small tiny house community that includes four tiny houses. Each house can be rented separately, but we also host weddings and events.
The best thing about our neighborhood is that it's not one. Four tiny houses share acres and acres of land that's out of the way yet just 20 minutes to Boone and even closer to West Jefferson. The Blue Ridge Parkway and the New River are just around the corner.

  • If you are looking for the perfect place to stay with a budget in mind this is the place for you. The house was super cozy and had everything you needed to stay there. It was a super clean place and perfect for two people. We loved the location of the house and the views from the deck were amazing. David was super quick with his responses and helpful when we asked him questions. The location of the house is awesome as well. Close enough to Boone to get the things you need and have somewhere for nightlife. All in all a great trip and will most definitely be staying there again!
