David is an extremely gracious and generous host. His home is spacious, historical, furnished with much art, very comfy mattresses (I slept so well!), and a wonderful and well-organized kitchen. It's in a great location in Woodsfield, close to restaurants and close to the public library if you need Wi-Fi. The highlight of the trip was David himself . He's very kind and thoughtful (I had not expected breakfast each day, nor had I expected a hilarious movie in his new "theater room") and his knowledge is eclectic (ranging from aviation to music to Africa). He made my stay an absolute delight.

This is as unique a house as you will find. Each bedroom is spacious with huge four-poster beds and color-themed decor. The bathrooms each have their own personality, from a cedar-lined all-in-one with a huge rainmaker shower head to a rustic stand alone with claw-foot tube. The theater room was great to watch a movie. The host was gracious, helpful and interesting. Communication was quick and thorough. We went looking to have family time, and he became one of the family, all the while assuring us that he would give us as much privacy as we needed. Though we didn't have time to take advantage of it, Wayne National Forest is literally next door and there is beautiful country all around. We're looking forward to our next stay!

Everything you need when working in this area.

Perfect for out of town workers, kinda similar to a man camp or barracks in the way it's designed. You have to supply your own linens and pillow for the bed but there is a Wal-Mart about 15 minutes away. I was happy with my stay and will stay again if I go back to work out that way!

This was a great place to stay! Melissa was always quick to respond to questions or comments and was very nice. My boyfriend has been stayin there for over a month and it has all you could need for staying out of town.

Nice setting in a very pretty small town. Bed was comfortable and clean. Good directions. We didn't meet Samuel but directions were clear. Bathroom is shared.

Conveniently nestled 10-15mins off I-70.... This is a great place to stay for the budget conscious. The communication was awesome especially for my last minute booking. I did not have the opportunity to meet the host, but spoke with Judy on the phone. She was very nice!

I enjoyed Samuels house in a quiet area of Barnesville. Very safe lovely homey feel. Easy to communicate with.

The downstairs was clean, albeit a bit untidy due to the owner and host being in the middle of some movement. There was a sweet letter on the table from the host's aunt welcoming us, along with a list of local restaurants as it is a small town. It was very helpful to have some info.

Paula and her husband welcomed us on their front porch and gave us a tour of their gorgeous Victorian home. Our room turned out to be a suite of rooms including a private bathroom and a kitchen. Our bedroom was very large with a very comfortable queen bed and a tv sitting area; it was all tastefully decorated. They had fresh baked sugar cookies which were a big hit!

Michael and Julie were great hosts and the house is truly a relaxing place. We stayed at the house for two weeks and it felt like home. Our favorite thing was enjoying a cup of coffee each morning on the porch swing while watching the cows graze. In the evening a few deer and turkeys can be spotted on the hillside. We loved that the house was so private and out of the way but still close to a grocery store, gas station and a few places to eat. At one point the AC had an issue and Michael and Julie were able to have someone out to fix it within two hours (on a Sunday!). We were very impressed with our stay; The house, location and owners were all magnificent and we hope to stay here again the next time we visit this beautiful part of Ohio.

We had a lovely time at the house from Michael and Julie. It is well equipped, has great porches to sit on and the quietness of the surrounding is exceptional. Julie and Michael prepared everything perfect for us so we had three relaxing days. We were sad that we planned our stay just for these three days and not for longer! We hope to come back once.

The location was beautiful in the rolling hills of Ohio. It was very secluded and the perfect getaway from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The fresh air and limited cell service gave me the time I needed to recooperate from the stresses of life. The nice and clean living facilities complimented the beautiful scenery and made the stay comfy. I would recommend to anyone who needs a getaway into nature.

Sooo Peaceful! One of the most tranquil spots we've ever stayed in. The home is very spacious and felt like home almost immediately. The views of the surrounding countryside is breathtaking and almost begs you to just sit back and relax with nature. The house was very easy to find, although we were concerned initially when our GPS told us we were there, when all the was around were a few old barns, but we continued down the road a little bit more to find a beatific driveway that winds up a small hill in front of the house! Plenty of parking if you are meeting a few other people here. We will definitely be back for the next Spartan Race in Ohio!

Stacy was very accommodating was in constant communication with us even when their were issues on OUR part.

Stacey was a wonderful host and her home is beautiful. The rooms were spotless and everything the pictures promised. Breakfast was delicious with fresh, homemade coffee cake and real cappuccino in addition to other typical breakfast offerings. Stacey was very accommodating and allows us to use the dining room for a board game marathon that we much enjoyed. I would definitely consider staying here again. This was my first bed and breakfast experience and definitely an experience to prompt me to consider B&Bs for future travel.

Stacey's home was just the treat I needed after a hectic week before my travels. Caldwell was charming and the town center was a beautiful 2 blocks away. The home was an old world mansion straight out of the turn of the century. I highly recommend Harkins House to other travelers.

Great room & fantastic breakfast. I booked based on the positive reviews I had read and I wasn't disappointed. Would definitely book again when I'm in the area. Close to Salt Fork and Wolf Run State Parks, and The Wilds, the house is in a great location. We hiked Salt Fork in the afternoon, checked in, and had plenty of time to enjoy supper in Marietta. The next day was a trip to The Wilds and then the Glass Museum in Cambridge. We packed a good deal into a short time and couldn't have done it without some helpful suggestions from Stacey.

The Harkin House is a hidden gem in a charming small town! Stacey was a top notch hostess, and prepared a delicious breakfast for us. The house and rooms are gorgeous and comfortable. Would highly reccomend!!

Our stay in Caldwell was everything we had hoped for and more. The house has more room than we expected, it's from the early 1900s and it has an old charm to it. Eric has stocked the place with more amenities than I've ever experienced at an Airbnb. Smart TVs in every room, two fireplaces. A fully stocked kitchen. It also has an extra living room space with a sectional couch, great for hanging out and building a fire. The town of Caldwell isn't huge, but a few good restaurants are close by. Eric was always easy to get ahold of and more than willing to help fix any issue that might arise. We stayed here for over a month, and it was a great stay. Thanks Eric!

Checking in was quite easy. The location was quite nice and safe. The house was able to accommodate for all 6 adults. Bathroom was nice and clean and shower was amazing. Internet was provided which was a plus.

We enjoyed our stay in this house. Our first time in an airbnb. It was clean, roomy, and toasty warm on a cold Valentines weekend. We loved the big eat in kitchen with a modern look, yet had a cute little woodburner. The caretaker, Jeremiah, was helpful and courteous. The home was exactly as described. Bedrooms are upstairs, so be aware of that if you are not able to climb stairs. ☺

Worst experience on air bnb!! House is u level so you have 2x4's under stuff making it level. Nats were everywhere in the kitchen. First night NO hot water. Had to message Eric and then had to go to cellar a fix it ourselves. He demanded the bathroom upstairs worked but it didn't. Electrical is all done wrong and not to code. I almost fell through the front porch. Would not recommend unless you are desperate for a place to stay

Everything was as promised. Eric was super prompt and helpful in our communication before and throughout our stay. We hope to go back during the proper season so we can visit "The Wilds," a safari only 30 minutes away. We highly recommend this fully furnished space and will seriously consider staying at Eric's other properties because of his high standards of hospitality.

This home is older & you have to realize it is but the furniture/beds are comfy and you have the whole place to yourself! Great sunroom for lounging with friends/family. Bathroom upstairs is only for the people staying in the master BR but nice bath down. Loved having an attached garage! Close to Big Muskie Bucket; some covered bridges; Shenandoah crash sites; several lakes; 20 mtes to Cambridge; nice restaurants (loved Lori's); Food Center grocery/general store fantastic; small town. Eric, the host, so very accommodating & helpful!! Thank you Eric! Hope to be back!
