Come enjoy the historic charm of South Freeport. This antique home and cozy accommodation await you, featuring a private entrance, private room, private full bath, t.v. with cable, and wi-fi. This is a second-floor room, accessed from a dramatic original (steep) staircase, and is conveniently located in an area of lovely homes, with Freeport Village just five minutes away.
We are just a short walk to the waterfront and Lobster Rolls, minutes to LL Bean and Freeport Outlet Shopping, Wolfe's Neck State Park, Bradbury Mountain State Park, and only 20 minutes to downtown Portland! Great location, picturesque setting!
This is a neighborhood of historic homes. There are many professionals and families, with dog walkers, bicyclists and runners. Please be mindful of the speed limit and pedestrian traffic. Lots of great walks and hikes to be had!
  • I can’t recommend Weathers Edge enough. Ideally located, quiet and comfortable I’m finding it hard to leave. Add in super hosts Sandy and Jerry and you have win-win

  • The location for exploring Maine is perfect. I’m a regular visitor to Maine so was happy that it was so close to all I hold near and dear. Quiet and off the beaten track yet only minutes from great exploration. I highly recommend and will be back myself soon!

  • This place is such an amazing value! Even though this Airbnb listing is not a full apartment, it has everything you need for a weekend away. It is also perfectly situated in between Lewiston, Freeport, and Portland. Whenever my boyfriend and I had any questions during our stay, Sandy and Jerry responded very promptly and took care of everything we needed. I have stayed in many Airbnb listings and I would highly recommend this one to any of my friends and family.

  • Comfortable, sparkling clean, quiet, and private.

    Faye2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Sandy and Jerry were incredibly responsive, and their home was lovely! Even though I didn't have the opportunity to meet them, they left little notes with advice about the area around the suite - so nice. Their place was exactly as listed - private suite even with my own entrance to the home. Check in and check out was a breeze, and Freeport is a lovely, lovely town. I would certainly stay with Sandy and Jerry again, and I would recommend their place to anyone I knew.

    Amelia2020-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • The place is adorable!! Really comfortable, located in the middle of the woods, beautiful views but easy access to downtown Freeport and Portland with the car. Hosts are accommodating and thoughtful! Would definitely come back!!!

    Lea2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • Very clean, private, and comfortable lodging. Close to everything including Brunswick and Portland. Thank you, Sandy and Jerry, for a wonderful stay.

    Lynn2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • I loved my stay at Sandy and Jerry’s. This was my first time using air bnb and it was a great experience. I am used to staying at hotels and this was better! They provided so many nice touches, like coffee creamer and breakfast bars, that made it extra convenient. I was on a solo get away so I really appreciate how their setup allows 100% privacy. I did not hear them once! The location is great - a very quite and seemingly safe neighborhood with people out walking and enjoying their day. Sandy and Jerry offered to let me check-in early to avoid driving in a snow storm and also shoveled out my entrance walkway and put salt to melt the ice. Very thoughtful and kind. Very comfortable bed and awesome pillows. 10/10 and will be staying again!

Your own private hideaway very close to town and the water. Private sitting room with cozy chairs and TV. Just bought new sofa bed for the sitting room. Separate bedroom with double bed, large closet and bureau. Full private bath w/tub-shower. Fridge, microwave and coffee maker.
This space is convenient to shopping, restaurants, town parks and steps from a beautiful cove that once was a busy shipbuilding site. The rooms have all you need for a comfortable, relaxing stay. Also within walking distance is a town dock which is great for swimming at high tide.
It's an historic area where schooners were built. We're close to the salt water and there's pond for winter skating right across the road. And in the summer we've a dock for swimming a very short walk away.
  • Emma and Bob's home is a warm, inviting colonial in a great location in Freeport - close to the downtown hub but very quiet and peaceful. The privacy of the separate bathroom and entrance was great, and the space is cozy with warm touches (variety of coffee, extra linens, etc.). Hosts are very communicative and flexible with arrangements. Be aware that the home has cats and dogs, who are quite friendly.

    Adam2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • Emma is a great host. The house is located close to downtown Freeport and was very convenient for our visit. The Studio was clean, check-in was fast and informal, and we loved her very friendly cat.

  • My daughter and I had a lovely stay...we enjoyed visiting with the house kitties!

    Kyle2019-10-21T00:00:00Z
  • When you book your room in this old sea captain’s home, you may think you’re just booking a bit of history - but you’re actually booking Emma. Emma is one of those people who just wants you to be comfortable and happy, and she will look after you, whether you see her or not! Our towels were changed in the bathroom without our involvement, the lights were left on outside on our first night in case we were late....Emma is just kind by nature! The accommodation is as described; not exactly rustic, but it is old style. We were very comfortable, and enjoyed having the lounge next to our room, but you just have to understand that it’s not modern. Others have commented about the animals, who are lovely, but if you’re not keen, Emma will keep them away from you. There are others in the house, but we didn’t see them. And the bathroom door is right next to your bedroom door so we had no issue with that. We didn’t ever see Emma or her husband when we were using the bathroom. This is not a hotel, but it has character and charm, and you will feel as though you are living in times gone by.

    Julie2019-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • You can't go wrong here. Emma is a wonderful hostess ready for any of your needs. Bedroom and sitting room making your stay very pleasant with a private large bathroom full of fluffy towels and hot shower. Great location to walk to town, shop eat and walk off dinner on your way home. Delightful place.

    Mary2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • This place is a great find if you want spacious and comfortable accommodations slightly away from the busy main street but still within walking distance to the shops and dining in Freeport. Emma will make you feel right at home and after relaxing here, you may not want to leave.

    Suzanne2019-09-16T00:00:00Z
  • Great large space with very friendly host.

    John2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • This home was a perfect place for a week of exploring the South and mid-coast regions of Maine. Unpretentious and comfortable. Emma and Bob were the perfect hosts for our stay. The two cats and the beyond cute little dog were an added bonus. If you don't like animals, don't come here. Yes, the bathroom is in the hallway right by the hosts bedroom, but their door is closed at night and they've got large bathrobes you can use if needed. This place has tons of character as it's from the 1800's. Would highly recommend Emma's place.

  • Very nice, cosy and comfortable place to stay. We particularly enjoyed the fireplace and the quiet surroundings although we didn't go out much due to the virus. Jamie and Sally have been helpful and they take really good care of their cabin which was highly appreciated: the place was neat and well equipped. We will be back.

    Pauline2020-03-20T00:00:00Z
  • Romantic, cozy, and intimate is what you’ll get here! The kind and thoughtful touches will make you feel right at home! We spent our first anniversary here, even though it doesn’t have a huge kitchen we were able to successfully cook dinner every night! We watched movies on the projector, and stayed warm by the indoor wood stove! Very clean! It smelled lovely! Fresh flowers, fruit, local coffee, breakfast pastries, and chocolate on the pillows. We’ll definitely be back!

  • Don't hesitate, if you are near Portland ME, it's the place to be...

    Alain2020-03-14T00:00:00Z
  • I had a wonderful stay at Jamie and Sally's place! All of the positive reviews are correct: the cabin was beautiful, cozy, incredibly clean, and Jamie and Sally had thought of anything a visitor might need. I especially appreciated the well-stocked kitchen, the baked goods, and the fresh flowers. I think this place would be lovely at any time of year and a convenient base for Maine adventures. I would stay here again in a heartbeat. Thank you so much for having me!

    Nadia2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • Minglewood is a wonderful combination of location, amenities, and gracious hosts.

    Ron2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • My wife and I had an amazing stay at Minglewood. Thoughtful touches everywhere and we felt immediately at home! The fresh baked goodies, fruit and creamer you left made our mornings effortless. The provided coffee was wonderful as well. Even on the coldest weekend in Maine this season the multiple heating sources kept us cozy throughout our stay! I'm sorry we didn't have a chance to meet Jamie and Sally but we were eyeing that firepit under the snow outside and are already thinking about a return during the summer or fall to enjoy the outdoor amenities as well! Thanks again and best to you both, Jamie and Sally!

    Scott2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • We absolutely loved Minglewood! I think the pictures don’t even do it justice. It was much bigger than we thought it would be, clearly newly renovated and super clean. It was cozy because of the way they’ve decorated (and the fire place, of course!) but the high ceiling and bright windows meant it didn’t feel stuffy and it was not overly rustic. It felt private and was off the beaten path but not deep in the woods. The bed was really comfortable and the projector set up was great. They left coffee and tea as well as a light breakfast - banana bread, orange juice and yogurt! The kitchen was bigger than I thought and they’ve outfitted it with everything you’d need (a microwave, hot plate, electric kettle, crockpot etc.) but just note that there isn’t a stove or oven so don’t plan on cooking an elaborate meal. It was perfect for a weekend getaway. It really exceeded our expectations and we’ll definitely be back!

Find peace and solace in this duplex apartment-like guest wing of a 1792 historic farmhouse in the center of one of Maine's most beautiful seaside neighborhoods. Water views and a 4 minute walk to the beach and town landing docks (bring your boat or kayak!). A unique getaway oasis for soul restoration.

Exposed ceiling beams reveal the raw craft of this antique historic farmhouse. Enjoy off-season water views from the picture window or cool evening ocean summer breezes. A cozy warm sun-filled winter spot with a semi-private outdoor patio area. The second floor is a unique sleeping nook which has a skylight and brand new egress easy opening designer windows. Past quests have loved the feel to this space and we have recently renovated giving the natural wood beams a clean fresh finish and the walls and trim a fresh coat of paint. Privacy, coziness and a sense of old world connection are the halmark of this listing.
Town Landing is one of the loveliest of the seaside neighborhoods in the Portland area. The Market, Underwood Park, and the Town Landing Beach and docks are all central to it's charm. Come stroll the neighborhood at Sunset and watch the boats as they come and go from the landing. Bring your Kayak, launch it nearby and explore Casco Bay.

Quiet, wooded, private, airy, beautiful North Eastern Coastal Town...
  • This place is a real gem. Everything about our stay was wonderful, from the communication, to the location, to the amenities offered. The house is absolutely beautiful, in immaculate condition, and could not be located in a better location. The house itself is located in such a beautiful and peaceful pocket of nature, yet so much of the sightseeing and wonderful activities that Maine has to offer is so conveniently nearby! We could not imagine a better place to stay if you are planning a trip to Maine. We wholeheartedly recommend booking Randy's place, and we definitely hope to visit again in the future.

  • Randy was a great host and his house is beautiful! We truly enjoyed our stay and can’t wait to return. Randy was very easy to reach and always answered questions quickly. Would strongly recommend his place!

    Nora2020-04-03T00:00:00Z
  • I LOVE THIS HOUSE! Honestly... I rented this home while visiting the area for a wedding. I grew up not far from here, but we have all since moved away. My husband, mother, and sister all stayed here and there was plenty of room for all of us to stay comfortably without feeling like we were at each other's toes. The beds are SUPER comfortable and they have wonderful bath products and plush towels... clearly, these owners are all about the details... which I love because so am I. We cooked two big meals during our stay and the kitchen is extremely well-stocked and ready for your families culinary needs. Now onto the important stuff... the design! This house is better in person than it is in the photos if you can believe that. Tucked back in a wooded lot that backs up to a creek, we instantly fell in love with the cozy, modern farmhouse vibe. Trust me... you're going to want to live here! We made day trips to the Old Port in Portland twice as it is only like 20 minutes, so it is super convenient.

    Jeremiah2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • Randy was quick with his response and the house was very clean and as advertised. Tucked back in a fairly remote location on the river and tree lined. Great spot for a quiet retreat.

    Jay2020-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • Randy's home is amazing. I stay there annually with a small group and we always have a great time. The space is as stylish as it is functional. The furniture is beautiful. The kitchen is awesome. We love sitting by the fireplace. The rooms are all comfortable and well-appointed. The setting couldn't be better — there always seems to be a fresh coat of snow outside and it's calming to look out the abundant windows and see the flurries coming down. Just an all-around wonderful spot. Look forward to staying there again next year.

Private ground-level apartment. Near downtown Freeport but in the woods, with access to great swimming pond and trails, with winter ice hockey, ice skating, and XC skiing at the property. Separate BR has full daylight sliding glass doors - sleeper-sofa and air mattress are in main part of semi-finished but pleasant basement. Private bathroom and entry/exit. Can sleep up to 4 people.
Private lower-level apartment in modern unusual house (some call it a Treehouse). Pond is great for swimming - access to beach is a 3-minute walk down a path. Hiking trails start at the backyard. All of Freeport's amenities, including LL Bean's flagship store are about two miles away. Beautiful ocean views are just up the road and Freeport's picturesque harbor and local lobster shack (in season) are just a mile or two away.
Very quiet and pretty neighborhood, sparsely populated by homes, many with world-class ocean views, and full of good walking trails, all within a short distance of the best shopping in Maine.
  • Wayne was very sweet and welcoming the whole time, meeting us to show the space and offering advice about what to do and see around Portland and Freeport. Everything was very clean, especially the bathroom, which had great water pressure for the sink and shower. It’s beautiful in the morning to look at the sun on the snow right outside the large bedroom window. Overall an excellent stay!

    Harris2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Cool place. Nice walking around the pond

    Brett2019-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • Wayne was a gracious host, very welcoming and generous. Upon arrival he greeted us, having just mowed the lawn and tidied up our entrance way. Immediately he began to tell us about the lay of the land and the surroundings, the trail to the pond and the other woodland trails leading to a beautiful overlook of the inlet and ocean islands around Freeport. We had arrived and checked in early (a nice feature provided) in order to do some Maine adventuring - so perfect on a warm fall day to have those recommendations. The apartment was very clean and pleasant, nicely arrayed with some Maine artifacts and cultural touches. Especially nice was the Maine Atlas and Gazetteer which was a perfect curiosity piece for those geographically minded such as ourselves. The bed was entirely comfortable, and the room could be both darkened and lightened accordingly. There were some other nice touches as well such as an old stereo with speakers, a room divider and some nice artwork on the walls. There is a refrigerator only, so do keep that in mind if you are used to having and expecting a kitchenette in your accommodations. Wayne very kindly brought us a hot water pot for morning coffee and did offer a microwave as well. Also, there is no television but that turned out to be a nice subtraction for us. We will hope to return. Wayne mentioned how the pond becomes a local ice-skating treasure in the winter. The charm of the very accessible Freeport village and surrounding Maine woods combine nicely here at Wayne's place.

    John2019-10-25T00:00:00Z
  • Wayne was a fantastic host! My girlfriend and I went to a concert in Portland and then stayed at his place. A large chunk of the area lost power this week due to a storm, but Wayne was a great communicator. It was unclear whether his power would return before our arrival, so he took the time to arrange backup accommodations for us just in case. Luckily, the power came back just in time and we were able to stay with Wayne. Loved the space, location, and blueberry scones!

    Alex2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • Nice Stay in an awesome location. Wayne took us walking around the neighborhood, showing us the beach view etc... The airbnb has everything you need. Awesome host and location :)

    Marine2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • The partially finished basement was comfortable, dry, and warm. Wayne is a nice and interesting host if you have the chance to chat.

  • This is a great private space (finiched basement with separate entry) in a beautiful secluded location but easy to find. Wayne is very responsive and accommodating.

  • Super convenient location, and what you see in the photos is what you get. Very comfortable, clean, relaxing apartment, with very handy on-site parking.

  • Perfect isn’t even the word! It’s located at a walking distance to so many shops including hot suppa, boda and even a 7/11 for a late night bite. The place itself is awesome. Parking right out back, entrance steps away, kitchen was big with all the necessary things for a quick breakfast, living room was perfect size, roku on tv, bed was behind a wall but so perfectly well put - gave the right amount of privacy, the bathroom was very roomy although the shower itself is a little small still gets the job done, washer/dryer came in handy. Like i said perfect is not even the word! We will definitely be coming back. So much we didn’t get to do in our 3 days. Only a short 5-10 min drive to some great water view restaurants - Luke’s, DiMillos. Brian was super quick to respond when we needed an extra hour to check out.

This small, cozy, fully functional one bedroom apartment is walking distance to everything that the city of Portland has to offer. It's an older building with a lot of character.
There is parking for 1 vehicle, but we always tell our guests to check the street first, as it’s free parking and typically not an issue finding a spot in the neighborhood.
It's easy to get to wherever you're going.
  • I had a fantastic stay here with Nick and Sara! The place is exactly as it appears in the photos and very well set up. Coffee and creamer was supplied and the kitchen was well equipped. There was lovely natural light during the day and thoughtful touches like extra blankets, and toiletries provided. The Wifi was easily accessible and the Roku was great to enjoy Netflix! I was able to set the heat at my desired level of cozy and the bed was extremely comfortable! Check-in was effortless with key lockbox code provided prior to arrival. I really appreciated that they followed the CDC guidelines for anti-microbial cleanliness during the Covid-19 pandemic. Nick and Sara were so lovely and responded with prompt communication. Could not recommend this place more!

  • It was a wonderful experience. Kym and Rob are gracious hosts and their dog Paisley was a treat to be around!

  • Kymberly and her husband are very warm and welcoming. They also offered us helpful suggestions for nice places around the area.

    Scott2019-05-18T00:00:00Z
  • The room was cozy comfy, the bed was great and the towels were luxerious, Kymberly and her husband were friendly and accommodating, and their dog was sweet but not overwhelming. Thier house was beautiful, charming and peaceful.

    Lo And Melissa2019-05-11T00:00:00Z
  • Kymberly was a great host! She was kind, courteous, and prompt with responses to my questions. Everything was clean from the bed, to the bathroom, and everything else. I even got a nice breakfast in the morning! I highly recommend staying here and will be back if I decide to head up that way again!

    Eric2019-05-05T00:00:00Z
  • Kym is a gracious, pleasant hostess. I felt welcomed the minute I walked in to their warm, cozy home. Having my own newly refurbished, private bath with fluffy towels was a lovely added touch. The guest bedroom is spacious and bright with a comfortable bed and a warm, soft comforter. I was happy to discover places near by to walk along the Royal River and to find quiet places to retreat too away from the business of a thriving town center as well as fun local shops and coffee houses to hang out in. I look forward to returning during a different season when I can rent a kayak and paddle the Royal River right down the road from Kym and Rob's home and maybe make it to LLBeans!

Recently renovated studio apartment, very welcoming and cozy with parking, a private entrance, kitchenette and TV (Cable, Netflix, Hulu and Amazon). Very comfortable queen sized bed with floor space for kids if desired. Fantastically located just over a mile from beautiful Winslow Park's walking trails and beach, four miles south of downtown Freeport's outlet shopping and about 20min north of the popular foodie city of Portland. Housebroken and well behaved pets welcome to join their humans!
The studio apartment is in a separate building from the main part of our house. It has private parking and entrance with a numerical key code so you're comfortably able to come and go on your own schedule. The private entrance does include an outside flight of stairs and has no handicap accessibility.
Winslow State Park is just over a mile down the road with beautiful ocean views on three sides, walking trails (off leash for dogs from October 15th-May 1st!), camping and a small beach. Great access for paddleboarding or kayaking. Stop in to visit the quaint village of South Freeport and town wharf (~1.5 miles north) on your way to downtown Freeport's outlet shops and famous LL Bean stores (4 miles north). There are a few well known local breweries (Maine Beer Company, Stars & Stripes, Gritty's) and a distillery (Cold River) as well as many great restaurants all within five miles of the house. Portland is about 20 minutes south with endless fun things to do and see and popular places to eat.
  • This place is fantastic. It's super private. I'm actually the type of guest who NEVER interacts with a host but Nelle and Jay were so nice and it was COVID-19 2020 so from a healthy distance I got to know them, their 2 dogs, and their 2 adorable foster pups. What a great place. And they were great about my dog who usually would have had more off-property time but, well, global pandemic.

  • Avanelle’s place was perfect for a quick weekend trip to Portland. Super clean, comfortable, and quiet. Would definitely stay here again in the future!

    Gabrielle2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • I've stayed at a lot of Airbnb's and this was by far my favorite. The apartment was sparkling clean and was very cozy. By our third day it started to feel like home. Avanelle is a super host and has thought of everything for someone looking for a cozy stay in Freeport. Just perfect.

    Marc2019-11-11T00:00:00Z
  • This place was great! We had a wonderful stay at this lovely airbnb in Freeport. It was the cleanest place we've stayed at yet. The queen bed is very comfy. The kitchen area has everything you need. Our hostess was so thoughtful and left a dog treat and dog bed for our pooch. There were also some delicious pastries for us. This has been one of my favorite aribnb experiences. We hope to come back again.

    Fran2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay at Avanelle’s place. It was a quick drive to Portland but also right on route 1 which was perfect for a scenic fall drive. There was also plenty to eat and drink in Freeport which is an even shorter drive away. We loved being so close to a park to take our pup, Pearl, and have a cozy place to watch Netflix after a day exploring.

    Amanda2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect space for 1 or 2 people, cute layout, all the ammenities you could want!

Long term/winter rental only. 4 month minimum. Sunny bedroom with full private bath. Back deck & private entrance. 8 minute walk to boat landing and restaurants. Easy access to Portland via Casco Bay Lines ferry. Nicely furnished, 6 steps up to landing. Nous Parlons Français. Parliamo Italiano. Quiet bedroom in large house. Access to all public areas, living, dining, kitchen, etc. 1 or 2 other people may be in house, but you might not even see them. Easy access to Portland for work, shop, fun.
1 sunny bedroom with full private bath. Back deck and private entrance if desired. Near boat landing and restaurants. Nicely furnished, 6 steps up to landing. Nous Parlons Français. Parliamo Italiano. Ferry ride from Portland is an idyllic 20 minute cruise. Cars not needed out here, and expensive to transport. There is an island taxi, and walking/biking are easy to get around. Peaks Island is an artistic community with old-fashioned entertainment like pancake breakfasts and intimate concerts in the summer. It's much quieter in the fall and winter, so nature is the call then. Perfect place for a writer, artist, telecommuter, or someone working in Portland. Information about getting to Peaks Island is through Casco Bay Lines (email hidden). The ferry schedule and costs are there. Also you can link to a map of places to park in Portland. There is a garage right at the ferry terminal, but it is often full and rather pricey. Other garages, or some of the open lots, are cheaper. Biking is great on the island. Taking the ferry to Portland while you are here, buying a book of 5 round-trip tickets, or a monthly pass are the cheaper/easier ways to go. If you are taking a bus or train to Portland, the taxi from there to the ferry is about $10 plus tip. From the airport it is closer to $20. Uber and Lyft available as well. In the summer there are 3 restaurants on the island, 3 bars, a grocery store an ice cream shop, and a few gift shops. A couple of art galleries, 3 small museums and lots of places to walk and wander. Some of these businesses close after Labor Day. Leave lots of time to get tickets and park a car if you are coming to Portland by car, especially on weekends. I hope that helps! Please note that from November - April I am not at the house, but have another renter and someone who checks in on it. Please contact me before making a reservation for those months so I can give you more information. From September - May, booking long-term only. Possibility of extended/year-round stay also. Contact me for information.
Peaks Island is a friendly community, very walkable and bikeable. Busy in the summertime. Portland has great restaurants and activities. Boats run until 10:30 or 11:30 pm most nights from Portland so you can enjoy the city too.
  • Nancy was a great host! She had a pulse on all the local events! Fresh flowers. Cozy room! The walk to the ferry was five to eight minutes. We had a time at Nancy’s!

    Ben2019-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • Nancy was a wonderful host! She gave us lots of tips about what to see and do on the island and in Portland. The accommodations were clean and comfortable and the location is very convenient from the ferry. We really enjoyed our stay on Peaks Island!

    Emily2018-08-31T00:00:00Z
  • This was our first stay at Peak's Island, and we could not have been happier with our stay. We arrived earlier than the stated check-in time and Nancy had no problem with that and let us drop our things off. It's the perfect location as you can walk to everything.

    Ashley2018-08-05T00:00:00Z
  • Nancy's place is so great. Super close to the ferry and the downtown strip so it is a perfect jumping off point for your Peak's Island adventure ! It was really cute and perfect for our needs.

    Colin2018-08-02T00:00:00Z
  • Nancy was a wonderful host. The island was great and she gave fantastic advice on what to do and where to go. Overall, it was a good experience.

    Matthew2018-07-30T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice place and get host !!!

    Jim2018-07-29T00:00:00Z
  • Nancy’s place is a cute home about an 8 minute walk up the hill from the Portland/Peaks Island ferry. We opted to leave the car in Portland as it was such a short walk from the boat to her house. Parking was challenging but not impossible and it saved us an expensive car ferry fee. Nancy is a delightful person, cheerful, inquisitive (not overly) and very interesting; she is the founder of the Umbrella COVER museum down the street, and we were delighted to get a tour of her record holding collection. We even joined in as she played the accordion! Peaks is beautiful and very “Maine” with lobster shacks, kayaking, and good people. I’m looking forward to exploring it even more next time I go! And I wouldn’t hesitate to stay with Nancy again!

  • Very good location - within about 1/3 of a mile of multiple restaurants and shops within the center of Portland. Very walkable. Spacious apartment, really historic and cute to stay there, good view of the city from the windows. Stylish and cozy and great location. Good recommendations for local places too.

  • Great location! The apartment itself was cute, it has great views and lots of sunlight. Having an assigned parking spot and key-less entry was great and convenient. I would recommend this place to others going to Portland.

  • Kevin and Cecile have a wonderful apartment. It is very bright and cheery. It is located perfectly for exploring the city and there are numerous restaurants within a 5-10 minute walk of stepping outside. The apartment was spotless with a very, very comfortable bed. We will definitely be back.

    Jennie2020-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • Kevin and Cecile’s place was so great for a weekend away. The location is perfect, you can literally walk everywhere. I didn’t realize check out was at 10am and was leaving around 11:30 when I asked if I could store my bags at the house while I walked around for the day. Not only did they not say anything about my late check out time, they let me keep my bags there for a few hours while I was able to walk around and enjoy the day without a huge backpack on. Thank you guys so much! If I am ever back in Portland I would love to stay here again.

  • Would deffenitly recommend, the space was just as pictured, and Elliot was a great host, provided fresh baked goods, gave advice on places to eat, and was overall very friendly

    Timothy2019-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment was decorated so nicely. It is a cute cozy space. The hosts have thought of everything. There are toiletries in case you forgot something. There are games and area information in the living room which was a nice touch. It’s in a very quiet neighborhood which was great. We never heard any cars or any other noises. The bed in the bedroom was comfortable as well as the futon in the living room. I would highly recommend this rental.

The Cleaves Street Loft is all newly renovated with stainless appliances, brand new butcher block counter tops & tableware's. The loft boasts it's own private balcony and spacious bathroom with radiant stone floors and heated walk in tile shower. This space is located in the heart of Yarmouth Village just a stones throw to the library, North Yarmouth Academy, Yarmouth High School, Route 1, Interstate 295 and numerous local businesses and restaurants.
We are less than 20min to Portland, North Yarmouth, Cumberland, Falmouth, Durham, Pownal, Freeport, Brunswick, South Portland & Gray. The Breeze metro bus line that runs 6 days a week to various stops along the way to Freeport and Portland is visible from your doorstep as well as the East Coast Greenway directly across the street, 3000 miles of walking trails connecting Yarmouth with Key West, FL.
The community of Yarmouth is known as latch-string community, we have 4 local parks within walking distance, as well as fully lit walking trails along the Royal river to the local bagel shops and grocery store. There are numerous historical homes and buildings and award winning restaurants including Gather, a farm fresh eatery with ever changing menu, the Royal River Grill house serving exquisite surf & turf, Binga's Wingas, the best wing joint we have yet to try in southern Maine, Romeo's, Pat's Pizza & Otto's, all dine in or delivery sandwiches, pizzas & more, and Bruce's Burritos, a well known burrito joint with some of the best brownies around, and Maples's, the BEST bagels and from scratch baked goods this side of the Mississippi (be sure to get there in the early morning if you want to get a bagel, sea salt are a popular favorite).
  • Erica's loft is beautiful and unique. There are three stories. The main floor has the living room and bathroom. There's an amazing shower, spacious and stone tiled. The kitchen is downstairs. We were in town for a wedding, so we didn't get to utilize it. There is a spiral staircase that leads upstairs to the loft bedroom. The loft gets natural sunlight that is warm, welcoming, and just the perfect way to wake up in the morning. The location is great, just a short 20 minute drive to Portland, and a brewery just a 2 minute walk down the street. I didn't get to check out the brewery, so I guess I'll have to come back!

    Eric2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • Erica's place is a great spot for hitting anything from Portland through Freeport and beyond. It is tucked away in a great place in Yarmouth with plenty to do there as well. The space is newly renovated, very clean and well appointed for anything from a short to longer stay, highly recommended!

    Ryan2019-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • We had a very nice one-night stay at Erica's place. Great option close to Portland, where we were spending the day. Very easy to find off the highway, about 10-15 mins from town. Communication and check in/out process very smooth. The place was very spacious (including the huge bathroom and beautiful shower!) and certainly served our needs. I did make the suggestion to include some body wash in addition to shampoo in the shower, and that the bed/mattress could stand to be a little bit more comfy for those who might be sensitive about that. Overall great stay!

    Zach2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • My stay in this loft was exactly what I needed: peaceful, inspiring, comfortable. I appreciated the great communication Erica offered as well as the privacy. My favorite thing was simply staying in a streamlined space that was not inundated with STUFF in every corner, like most AirBnbs are. The minimalistic design of the space definitely put me at ease. I will definitely stay here again when visiting the greater Portland area! :)

    Sharon2019-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • Cozy spot with minimal furniture. The loft is a really beautiful feature and we love the spiral staircase.

    Laura2019-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • Erica’s place was very clean and in a great location (very close to Portland and right near the highway). She was very quick to respond to messages and even supplied children toys and books for our two little girls which they absolutely loved :) we would definitely stay here again when we come back to the area.

I'm here to help you have an enjoyable stay at my home. But, also, I have made my Airbnb as self-sufficient as possible in case I'm off doing unpredictable life & mom things. I don't want my busy schedule to hinder any of your plans. As much as I would love to meet all of my guests, I may not be able to. (Do know, I will always be reachable by phone or text and would love to help in any way I can) My place is right in Portland and you can literally walk to most, (if not all) desired locations. It is a two story duplex that I have converted into a home for my family with a designated Airbnb area. To ensure privacy, my family stays in an area that is totally separate and secure from the Airbnb space. I have a dog (Harriet) and she will bark. Even though she is friendly, you will not have direct contact with her. My house is not modern. In fact, it is well over 100 years old. Calling it a "fixer-upper" is a bit harsh, but it does need some special love and attention. As much as I am very serious about making these upgrades happen, it has been a slow process. Take comfort in knowing that I have prioritized the Airbnb space and its the best room in the house! I am proud to have made it into a unique/comfortable/clean and cozy little Spot for my guests. (I intend to use my Airbnb revenue as a means to make such improvements to the rest of my home) I love my neighborhood. Back Bay Grill, Bayside Bowl, Bubba's, (voted best dance club) Isa and American Bayside Grill are primo hot spots within a block of my house. We are a short walk to The Museum of Art, Nickelodeon, the Old Port, (waterfront) Trader Joe's, Whole Foods Market, Deering Oaks Park and some of the nations most highly regarded microbrew pubs. On the downside, there is a resource center a few blocks from my house. You may encounter homeless people who may/may not be under the influence of drugs/alcohol. The area can easily be avoided by foot and/or by car. I provide a map that clearly shows where the resource center is and how to best avoid it. (if you choose) Please take comfort in knowing, I have lived in my neighborhood for 15 years and I feel safe in my home, and I would never have an Airbnb if this were not the case. Also, we are less than 2 minutes off the 295 highway, so traveling north or south of the city will be as easy as it gets with minimal city driving. FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT MY PLACE: Q: When can I check in or check out? A: I will try to accommodate your desired check-in or check-out, no matter what time it is. Note that early check ins are not always possible if I have a guest leaving that morning, as I need time to have the room cleaned for you. Q: Will I have a key? Can I come and go as I please? And, where do I leave the key when I leave. A: Yes, yes and leave the key in the room.
Parris street is a little two-way street right in the heart of downtown Portland, in the most diverse area of the state. Online maps measure distances in feet to the most celebrated and award winning restaurants and night spots. We are located just blocks from Portlands highly touted art district with the Portland Museum of Art within ten minutes on foot. My family has lived in the neighborhood for over a decade. We feel safe in our home and have never had an incident where someone even tried to break in.
  • Christine's place was so clean and comfortable! Perfect location to explore, close to so many great restaurants and shops. I'd definitely recommend and stay again in the future!

Quiet setting with easy access to I95/295, Portland, LL Bean/Freeport Outlets, Bowdoin College. Part of home is circa 1795. Enjoy breakfast on the patio and dinner under the grape arbor! Walk or bike to South Freeport waterfront.
It is close to the highway, waterfront and downtown Freeport, but on a private 1.5 acre lot. The original house was built in 1795 so the property has antique details with modern conveniences.
Courntry setting, but close to Portland, Brunswick and access highway.
  • Sandy and Cam are very gracious hosts and go out of their way to accommodate their guests needs. I would highly recommend staying here. Maryann

  • We had a lovely stay at Sandra's place. There were many thoughtful touches and it was comfortable and relaxing. We would definitely recommend staying here and we will likely be coming back again ourselves!

  • This spotless home and extremely comfortable surroundings lacked for nothing! Communication was quick and the location was perfect for our stay in Freeport. I highly recommend these hosts and their awesome place!

  • Beautiful home in a nice quiet neighborhood with easy access to anywhere you would like to go. Sandra and Cam were very welcoming with lots of great tips and what to see and do!

    Lara2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • Quite possibly one of the best Airbnb's we have ever stayed in! Sandy and Cam were unbelievable hosts - warm, accommodating, and very hospitable! Their home is lovely, with a beautiful homegrown garden in the back full of fresh veggies and herbs. Cam took us a on fun tour of the garden on our last morning of our stay, definitely a trip highlight! The private room is cozy and clean, with a large en suite bathroom. There is a great kitchenette just outside of the room, with a fridge and freezer to put food/drinks in. There is also a larger kitchen towards the entrance with a coffee machine for the guests! We would highly recommend this Airbnb to anyone planning to visit Freeport ME. Their home is centrally located and makes getting around Freeport easy. We already know we need to come back to Freeport and stay with Sandy and Cam again!

  • This was our first trip to Maine as well as using Air BnB; and it was an excellent experience. The location was in a quiet neighborhood; but not too far away from the main roads. The room and bathroom were very clean and met our needs. There was a list of local restaurants and places to explore. If we had any questions Sandra answered them promptly. We would definitely book with them again without question!

    Melissa2019-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • Sandra's place was in a great location to Portland and Freeport and many other towns. The home was spotless and the room was perfect as the bathroom was inside the bedroom....so no need for walking down the hall! There was a little sink and full size refrigerator just outside the room which was extremely convenient. Both Sandra and Cam made us feel welcomed throughout out stay. I would definitely book this AirBnB again!

Located in the quiet town of Yarmouth, our 2 bedroom, private apartment is a great place to rest your head after exploring all that Maine has to offer. We are only 20 mins from Portland, 10 minutes from a public beach and 15 minutes from LLBean. Note: Our kitchenette doesn't have a stove, but comes equipped with a mini-fridge, toaster oven, electric fry pan and microwave.
Perfect spot for a family of four. Sunny, quiet and private. It's by no means boutique or trendy but it's got all you'll need and you don't need to worry about breaking someone's precious Ming vase. The kitchen has a coffee maker, small microwave, mini-fridge and folding table with three chairs. There's a hot pot, electric fry pan, dishes and flatware. It's perfect for reheating leftovers or making a simple breakfast but no stove for cooking full meals. 2 bedrooms, 1 with a queen bed and the other with 2 twins. 1 dresser in each of the bedrooms so you can unpack. Small bathroom with a standup shower.
Located off of a private road and on our 1 acre property that abuts a protected woods and trail system. We are a 15 minute walk to Yarmouth's Main Street and the Royal River Park. Get up and go for a run/bike or head out to explore all that Maine has to offer. We are 20 mins from Portland, 15 from Freeport and their outlet shops and 1.5 from the Bethel ski area.
  • Shelby was a great host and her apartment was a great place to stay for our girls weekend away! The town was really cute and a perfect driving distance to Portland maine. Highly recommend!

  • Awesome space, light and airy, very clean and close to everything up the coast. One of the best air in and b's we have stayed in.

  • This apartment was a perfect place for our family to stay as we worked our way up the Maine coast. It was spacious and clean and even had toys and books for the littles. The beds were super comfy and the town of Yarmouth was great. Yummy food options and a great playground for the kids, while super close to Portland. Shelby responded to us very quickly about everything and she and her family were lovely.

    Ravenel2019-09-09T00:00:00Z

  • This place worked out great for our family! It is a good launching pad for exploring the area and worked well for our family of 4. We enjoyed Scarborough beach, Portland and Freeport from this location. Beds are comfortable with nice linens. Slightly off the beaten path in a sweet town with nice restaurants.

    Kellie2019-07-15T00:00:00Z
  • Shelby's rental is filled with light. There's room at the downstairs entry to leave shoes, coats, etc. The layout is well-designed with high ceilings and many windows. The bedrooms are at opposite ends of the apartment and the bathroom is more spacious than most. The location felt both homey and private.

    Marc2019-07-12T00:00:00Z

  • A beautiful, funky place to stay. Older folks might not like it as there is a bit of a walk from the car park and there was plenty of snow. I had a great time, slept well even though it’s close to the road, and really enjoyed the communal breakfast. I would definitely stay here again.

  • Awesome late 19th century mansion, loaded with historical DNA. Mark is a great host and provides a nice breakfast to get your day started. If you're lucky to meet him, he has lots of anecdotes and stories to share about the house and its surroundings. A must stop by if you go thru the area. Mark is EV friendly, and let me plug-in my Tesla for an overnight top-up. Will definitely stop by again when in the area.

Log cabin includes a master bedroom, loft w/5 beds & a small room with bunkbeds. It has solar power, a bathroom/hot shower, kitchen, dining room, den, living room, & a big private yard. It's close to the Portland airport, close to 5 star restaurants, and is on the outskirts of a beautiful harbor. There are only a few other cabins and no roads on the island. Island fun such as fishing, swimming, camping, paddle boarding, kayaking, and exploring will keep you busy for your stay.
What makes this island property unique is its privacy and pure tranquility. As well as the options to add a day on the lobster boat or lobster bake to your stay. There are only a few other cabins and no roads on the island, so it promises to be a peaceful stay. The only way to the island is by private boat, so while it is "away from society", it is also close enough to jump right back in.
Private, rustic cabin, no roads which equals pure tranquility and amazing nature experiences. Enjoy sunsets and sunrises on the private dock, or at the beach that is shared by only 2 other cottages, walk the island paths or enjoy a bonfire while the stars come out.
  • Jerry’s cabin is a slice of paradise! Cut away from all the hustle and bustle of day to day life. It was everything we needed it to be. Morning sunrises, listening to the ocean kiss the shore. Hunting for treasures across the untouched rocky/sandy beach. Watching the wildlife, indulging in all the island and ocean had to offer; its truly set apart. The cabin accommodated a lot of us comfortably. There were necessary toiletries. Bedding and pillows. A full kitchen. Grill. Fire pit with plenty of fire wood to scavenge for around the island. A trampoline and hammock. Tons of benches and chairs for outdoor seating. We were able to rent a boat to make trips back to main land a bit easier. Jerry is a gracious host, we hope to return many more times! I can only recommend bringing a wagon for the walks between the wharf and cabin.

    Shannon2019-08-31T00:00:00Z

The Walker House was built in the mid-1800s as a private home by Henry B. Walker who was wise enough to capitalize on all the clay in the soil in Maine and owned 3 brickyards. Now on The National Register of Historic Places, the house is located just over Portland townline so you’ll enjoy the space, quiet and safety of a family-oriented area with just minutes to the center of town.

The Tree Yurt is quite literally a yurt in the trees. Surrounded by trees, this is glamping close to Portland and Freeport. Please note: There is a main house on the property which is rented out as well. There is a chance the house and the yurt will be rented out at the same time. The yurt is approximately 200 feet from the house and the only shared space is the driveway, so it is actually very private. Please respect each guests privacy and use the yurt path to and from the driveway. Thanks
Park in the designated yurt spot in the driveway and follow signs through the woods to the Tree Yurt. Surrounded by nature, get ready to relax and unwind in my glamping spot that's as unique as it is peaceful. Located at the base of the stairs to the left is the fire pit area and to the right the outhouse which houses a dry flush toilet. Up the stairs on the deck is various seating areas and the BBQ grill. Inside there is a small fridge and another cooktop. A woodstove makes the coziness pop along with comfy bedding and a relaxing atmosphere. Coming in 2020 will be the bridge to the fairy land where kids of all ages can make fairy houses for the woodland creatures.
A Natural beauty. My area is rural with many trees and woods in between my neighbors and the TreeYurt. I am located across the road from an apple orchard and down the road from another.
  • We had a wonderful stay at the Tree Yurt. The bed was comfy, the fire was warm and the space is so cozy and comforting. Waking up to seeing the trees through the skylight was a plus! Would stay again for sure!

There’s a really great locally owned pizza shop right up the street ( about five minutes) which worked out GREAT for take out dinner. We cannot wait to stay here again really soon!!!

Allagash Brewing is just a mile down the road, and you are within walking distance (.5 mi) of the bars and restaurants at Morrill's Corner. Everything in my cottage is new, hand-made, or 'upcycled' (my hobbies include refinishing antique furniture and building furniture).
Sliding barn door for the bathroom, custom-made concrete countertop, handmade furniture and refinished antiques, USB ports for charging electronic devices. Modern rustic: the best of the old world and the new! As a frequent traveler myself, I put a lot of thought into what makes a stay a fun, convenient, and relaxing experience, and designed some of the amenities and layout with that in mind. I hope you enjoy!
Even though it's only a short drive away from downtown, my neighborhood is very quiet and peaceful. You can look at the stars and fall asleep to the sound of crickets after a fun night in town. Local neighborhood pubs (Samuels, Bruno's Tavern) and restaurants (Susan's Fish & Chips, Po' Boys & Pickles, Bruno's, Babylon) are located a short 10-minute walk away. The complex that hosts Allagash Brewing Company, Foundation Brewing, and Austin St Brewing is a short 25-30 minute walk away (and passes Noble BBQ, one of the best bbq restaurants in Portland).
  • Great location. It’s cute and cozy, perfect for two people.

  • Tony’s cottage is the cutest and most comfortable little setup! He was very friendly and helpful and includes a folder with local trails and places to find great food. We recommend giving his place a stay!

  • Tony was very accommodating- responded quickly to my messages. A great place and perfect location!

    Kayla2020-03-18T00:00:00Z
  • Tony’s place is great. We were able to make breakfast every morning on the stovetop which was perfect. The place was adorable & a great location. We’d definitely come back again!

  • Lovely and quirky in every corner! If you have a car, this is an excellent place to stay in Portland.

    Matt2020-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • Tony's cabin was a solid jumping off point for my adventures around the Portland/Cape Elizabeth area. I had several different filming locations I had to commute to every morning, and it always seemed an acceptable commute. As far as local amenities, I only eat at Amatos when I'm in town so not the best person to discuss that.

    Eric2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • Tony’s place is so charming and comfortable! Small, but very cute and perfect for two people who want a cabin getaway, still close to the lively city of Portland! :) The place is very clean, and Tony was the ideal host— responsive and helpful. We felt confident that if we needed anything, he was a short text message or call away! When we arrived, an essential oil diffuser was on, which made it feel like home right away. We miss it already!

    Jessica2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Tony's little cabin was perfection! His design style and creativity is awesome. All the amenities you need for a weekend away. Very comfortable bed pillows and furniture. The kitchen is anything to people could want so you don't have to eat out for three meals a day. Location to Olde Port and all surrounding towns is fantastic can't go wrong booking this place.

  • Jahn & Natalie’s home is a wonderful space that both promotes the communal aspect of air bnb but also provides a private retreat to enjoy the Portland area. The location is amazing, the amenities are so helpful, Duncan the dog is so cute, Jahn and Natalie are wicked helpful and great conversation. They made me feel welcome and respected my need for quiet and isolation while on a 4 day intensive training. I will definitely stay with then again!

  • This is a very good home, full of artsy objects and decor. The rooms were tastefully decorated and all the amenities were available. The Hostess was very nice and amenable to address our concerns promptly and provided excellent information to make our stay enjoyable . The home met all our needs and the location of the home was excellent - near all the key places in Yarmouth as well as the highway. Very enjoyable and highly recommended.

  • Janice was very helpful. Yarmouth is such a great little town.

    Anjali2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • Janice's home is beautiful and spacious and has all the amenities you could need for a comfortable stay. We had a chance to meet her upon check-out and you could tell she really cared that we had a great trip. She was wonderful with communication and addressing any issues.

    Amy2019-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • The house was exactly as pictured — very cozy and thoughtfully decorated. The location was great; just a 15 minute drive to Portland and just a few minutes walk down the block to a cute cafe for coffee/ quick breakfast. Janice was easy to communicate with. I would definitely recommend her place for a family or group.

    Morgan2019-07-04T00:00:00Z
  • Janice’s place is in a great location - right down the road from Portland! If you want to stay local for dinner, Owl and Elm’s is a great eat in walking distance. The home comes with everything you and your guests may need - towels bed sheets etc. and is very clean! Janice is always there to help when needed and is such a gracious host!

    Daniel2019-06-09T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice and clean. The house is full of artistic atmosphere.

    颖惠2019-06-04T00:00:00Z
  • Janice is a very welcoming guest and also helps straight away when needed. This made the stay extra special. The place is close to the centre of town and a beautiful old New England house. It has a lot of small rooms, which makes it not feel that spacious as it actually is. The garden is nice too.

Our historic home, built in 1810, is on Main Street in the heart of Yarmouth village. The two bedrooms and bathroom are located on the second floor. You'll have a separate entrance (front door facing Main Street) with plenty of room for your belongings. Enjoy a freshly-made full breakfast daily, made to order. Our home is within walking distance to restaurants and is a convenient 5-minute drive from the highway. We welcome families of all ages, as our property sleeps 4 in two bedrooms.
You'll notice that there are no cleaning fees added to your stay with us. Not only does that save you money, but you can rest assured your rooms will be "owner-prepared" - that means Barry and I do all the cleaning. And there's no better cleaner than the owner of the property! Although your space is part of our home, it will feel very private to you. As you enter the front door (you'll be the only one using this entrance), you'll head up to your two bedrooms and bathroom. This space is securely separated from the other part of the second floor. Each spacious bedroom (16' x 20') is furnished with a queen bed with a Tempurpedic mattress. There is also a flat screen cable TV (with Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon Video for account holders) in each room. Bedroom #2 also has a sitting area. Here you'll find a work station to check your email or have a snack, two comfortable chairs for watching TV/reading, and a small refrigerator. We've also provided an electric water kettle for a bedtime cup of tea. In the chilly months, we add a heated mattress pad on each bed. You are going to love it! And in the summer months, there is a window air conditioner in each bedroom. Between the two bedrooms is the bathroom with tub/shower and plenty of linens, a hair dryer, and baskets filled with most any toiletry you may have forgotten. Each bedroom has its own doorway to the bathroom. Got kids? You'll be in great shape here. For babies & toddlers, we have a Pack 'n Play, as well as a booster seat, high chair, and a stroller. We even have spare car seats if you need them. And there's plenty of toys and games for babies up to teenagers. Headed to the beach? You are also welcome to use our beach chairs, umbrella, tote bags, beach towels, and cooler. Parking is available on Main Street, directly in front of our home. You will find it quite safe to leave your car there overnight; however, if you prefer, you are welcome to use our driveway. Between November 15 and April 15 however, overnight parking on the street is not permitted, so you can just use our driveway. You will find Yarmouth is a very safe place to spend your time. In fact, the whole stay of Maine is very safe! Do you still have some questions? Just let us know!
Right here on Main Street, all within one block to 1/2 mile, you can walk to The Garrison, named 2019's best new restaurant in Southern Maine by the Portland Press Herald. Here on Main Street, you'll find top shelf pizza, a great bakery, a brewery serving great food, a bakery, a neighborhood pub, a farm-to-table restaurant, as well as a couple of coffee shops, and a spot to pick up soups and sandwiches. In addition, we have a handful of small shops to explore. Take a half hour to walk the sidewalk-lined streets, taking in the character and charm of all the 100-to-200 year old homes in the neighborhood. Around the corner from us, you'll find the Royal River Park with its 1-mile paved walkway. It's great for a walk, a run, or a bike ride. Just outside the park entrance, there are canoes available for rent for just $10 a day. No transporting necessary. Just put it in the calm waters and enjoy a quiet paddle up the Royal River. Within a five minute drive, you can check out several excellent restaurants here in Yarmouth. And remember, here in Maine, it's all casual dress. Portland, the largest city in northern New England, is a fifteen minute drive south. And Freeport, home of LL Bean and a vast array of discount shops, is five miles up the road. Fabulous beaches line our coast, our favorite being Ogunquit Beach, 50 minutes south. But you can find several nice beaches within a 15-25 minute drive.
  • Debbie and Barry were excellent hosts and I would happily visit their Airbnb again! The rooms were very comfortable and clean and provided a nice amount of privacy from the rest of the house. Debbie was very warm and helpful and I enjoyed all of her insights about the local areas.

    Sarah2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic place. Hosts were thoughtful, charming, helpful, and informative and super responsive but still very respectful of space and privacy. I love that I could stay in a house where the hosts were also living, in the center of town, on a pretty street, but still have my own staircase going up to the suite. Lots of separation in the house. Best bathroom and towel service I've seen in an Airbnb. Bright white towels without any stains, smelled clean and fresh without that smell of too much detergent. Not stingy about towels either, it felt like enough towels for a large family. Everything perfectly folded and presented. Not a molecule of dirt or hair anywhere in the bathroom or on the sheets.

    Mike2020-01-23T00:00:00Z
  • A great location with excellent hosts! Very clean, and our hosts made an excellent breakfast. We would definitely stay again. Thanks, Debbie!

    Ian2019-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our stay! Great location, excellent clean and well appointed accommodations and a yummy breakfast! Who could ask for more? We were greeted at the door, and Debbie provided recommendations on dessert and coffee. The mattress warmers were perfect on this chilly night. Speaking of coffee, the pot was right outside our rooms as soon as we woke. Breakfast was delicious. Hopeful I can return soon!

    Kim2019-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • What’s not to like about breakfast and conversations? Debbie and Barry were everything I expect when I stay with a local AirBnB host. Very communicative throughout the process, flexible with check in/out, super friendly and in general great hospitality overall. With the breakfast choices and the homemade remedies for sore throat, the little homely features and friendly conversations, it almost felt like a home away from home. Would definitely stay here again on our next trip to Maine. PS - the yogurt parfait with home made granola should have its own yelp listing.

    Harsha2019-11-11T00:00:00Z
  • Debbie and Barry were wonderful hosts! Every detail is thought of and comfort is the priority in their home. We only stayed one night but couldn’t have asked for better accommodations. I would highly recommend this home.

  • We stayed for almost 6 weeks in this lovely home and it was just perfect-I'd highly recommend it to anyone looking for a stay in Freeport with close proximity to so much of the area. The apartment was the cleanest Airbnb we've ever stayed in and met our high standards with two little kids who play on the floor all day. The bedrooms are both very comfortable with high-quality mattresses and linens. The hearing unit works great and kept us cozy during our stay, with efficient in-bedroom units when needed. While the place is small, there is a large bathroom, ample storage space, and as a family of four, we had no trouble settling in. All the closets and pantry were completely empty and clean and ready for us to unpack--no clutter! The kitchen is stocked with all you need to cook, both TVs are smart and equipped with Hulu, Disney Plus, Netflix-- it was great given all our time "at home". The apartment is set away from the main house and offers privacy, with living room windows facing a private back yard. Its a super short drive to town and many local parks/trails for outdoor adventures. Liza and Shannon were great hosts and always communicated very quickly.

    Gretchen & Andy2020-05-01T00:00:00Z
  • Liza is an outstanding host! Communication was quick and friendly, the apartment is gleaming and new, and she thought of every detail. The sun pours in the kitchen windows each morning; it was a wonderful place to have coffee and work on my laptop. There is nothing I can think of to improve my experience; well done!

    Jonathan2020-03-23T00:00:00Z
  • What a gem! This beautiful, spacious space with woodland views envelopes you in warmth and comfort. Sparkling clean and well designed area. Kitchen has all the pots and pans and tools you need to cook, king size bed was very comfortable and warm, convenient laundry made our week+ stay easy. You feel you’re out in the country but freeway is only minutes away as is Freeport, Brunswick, Yarmouth and Portland a little farther. Highly recommended.

    James2020-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • Liza and Co. offer a great new renovated space. Extremely modern, very clean, and above and beyond. Their communication is well above standard. My wife wife and I enjoyed our stay very much here and is the space is very roomy and cozy. As far as we are concerned, we are considering this rental again in the near future. The hosts are very professional and accommodating. We highly recommend this rental for any getaway whether short or long term. AAA+++

  • This was my second stay and it was just as great as the first. Excellent host private location. Could not be better.

    Don2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • An excellent place to spend some quiet time. Outstanding layout and amenities. Our only complaint was that we were disappointed we did not see a deer walking out of the woods during our stay! This place comes HIGHLY recommended by us.

    Cynthia L2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent place to stay. My favorite Airbnb so far. They are excellent host and have thought of everything. I completely felt at home I highly suggest you give this place a shot.

  • We had a wonderful stay. The hosts are wonderful, the bed and pillows are comfortable, great location, quiet street and good conversation! I highly recommend staying here if you are in the Freeport area! Nice private bathroom and shower/tub. Linda made us delicious scones for breakfast. Nice seafood restaurant (lobster pound with indoor/outdoor seating) just down the road at the harbor. 5 Stars all the way!!!!

  • Linda’s place was very nice and cozy, and the location is very close to the beach. Linda and her husband were both super hospitable and friendly, making us feel extremely welcome and comfortable during our stay. Would highly recommend!

  • Beautiful antique cape with wonderful , interesting hosts. Everything was as represented with a very private, quiet room and bath and comfortable bed. Linda and Sam were fantastic hosts with great conversation and coffee and homemade scones awaiting us in the morning. Will definitely return again!

    Robert2019-09-17T00:00:00Z
  • Welcoming hosts, sweet room, great spot to explore Freeport from.

    John2019-09-07T00:00:00Z
  • Linda and Sam's gorgeous house is on a side road in South Freeport, which Sam told me is really still Freeport. In fact, although only minutes from the bustle and crowds in downtown Freeport, this little enclave of classic vintage houses feels a world away. There are no stores in this little neighborhood, but a few minutes away is the best place for lobster, clams, seafood, and dessert, Harraseeket Lunch and Lobster. It is at a pretty marina with tables and counters overlooking the boats coming and going. I insist on having my lobster and clams here on virtually all visits to Maine. The room on the first floor is beautiful with a very comfortable bed and with a bathroom I could live in. The tub is huge and long and deep enough for a 6 foot man. Although I used the shower I could easily imagine how nice a bath would be in that tub. All of the fixtures in the bathroom are elegant and beautiful. The entire house is beautifully furnished and maintained with that special Maine light streaming in the living room windows in the morning. At night all is quiet and only some crows calling woke me in the morning (but not that early). I slept very well and woke happy to be there. Linda had delicious blueberry muffins and coffee ready for me in the morning and I had a very nice conversation with her and Sam before I left. They are both welcoming and interesting people and I am very glad to have gotten to know them a bit. This perfect little nest is now on my list of places to stay on future visits to Maine. Thank you, Linda and Sam.

    Christine2019-09-01T00:00:00Z

Beautiful setting for a relaxing vacation. A quaint Maine cottage located on South Freeport Harbor and Casco Bay with views over the islands and open water. The cottage is only 50 feet from the water's edge with complete privacy and unobstructed views. The cottage has a living room area, a full kitchen and eating area and one bedroom with a queen bed. Pre and Post season 3-day minimum, July and August 5-day minimum.
We live in a house above the cottage. Guests are welcome to enjoy the dock but the boats are not available for use. Kayaks may be rented locally.
The cottage is located in a quiet neighborhood approximately 4 miles from downtown Freeport.
  • We came for a long weekend to get out of the city and we were very happy with the peaceful and beautiful setting of the cottage. It's a great location to quickly get to state parks to go walking/hiking, close to shopping, and close to Portland to spend time there as well. The cottage has a big picture window that frames the water view beautifully, even in rainy weather. The bed and sheets were very comfortable and whole space was clean and cozy for two people. I'd love to go back and see it in a different season, but late fall was still a great choice!

    Christi2019-10-29T00:00:00Z
  • This is a lovely spot, very quiet, with beautiful views across a harbour filled with sail boats and lobster boats chugging in and out. Nice walks with old colonial houses and a lobster place just at the end of the road. The cabin is very comfortable with everything you would need. Bring your bike.

    Brian2019-09-17T00:00:00Z
  • Stephanie's little cottage was everything I could've asked for. Right by the water, private dock, gorgeous sunsets. Stephanie was thoughtful and always just a message away if we needed her.

    Lily2019-09-09T00:00:00Z
  • My husband and I loved the cottage. Very relaxing. Stephanie was a great host and had breakfast Fixings waiting for us. It was also awesome that they had cable tv. We live in Florida and we’re keeping an eye on hurricane Dorian. The view is amazing. The cottage has a lot of added touches. We will be back!!

    Tina2019-09-05T00:00:00Z
  • Really great location with a wonderful view of the water. The cabin is clean and has everything you need. Really enjoyed our stay. Stephanie is a great host. We would stay here again.
