Lina's place was very nice, the room and bathroom spacious and nicely decorated. The bed was very comfortable! There were lovely flowers on the table, and the robes were a really nice touch. Lina and her husband were perfect hosts. They were very helpful with tips about the area, suggestions for where to eat and general information about Grass Valley. My husband and I would highly recommend Lina's place. Thank-you Lina!

Lina and Banislav's place is true to the photos and description. It's very comfortable and artfully decorated, with plenty of space to spread out. Loved the light-filled living room, as well as their sweet schnauzer and cat. I was pleasantly surprised that Lina offered breakfast (fruit, yogurt, and bread), and quite a tea selection. I stayed for one quick night's rest but this would be a wonderful home to spend more time in. I slept well on the firm memory foam bed even though I have a soft bed at home. The room is a great size for two people, and affords privacy as it's at the end of the hall, along with the private bath. Everything was fresh and clean. Robes and slippers were available in the closet. Highly recommended!

Lina and her husband were the perfect hosts, everything was perfect and the house pictures were as it was on their Airbenb profile. I enjoyed with them all the time and at all moments they were there to help me with everything, drop me off to any place and offering me coffee, tea, soups,...if you are thinking to spend nights in Grass Valley, definitely this is your place.

10 -15 minutes from all the sights and spots of Nevada City/Grass Valley. Kitchen set up is almost like our time share with dishes, pots & pans, basic cooking stuff & COFFEE!! (Thank You) I can cook up a feast with a Hot Plate & Toaster oven !! Great selection of decent cable tv, plus VCR movies, and even a few toys for kids. Outdoors, the neighborhood has disc golf setup. We did not play, but we know for next time! Wall unit heater with the ceiling fan on kept us cozy & warm. Easy to access unit. It is separate from house and set back off the street. Was a little tough to see in the dark - even though we were in exactly the right place. We were very comfortable.

They were soo friendly and of course approachable from the very beginning. The neighborhood very secure and tranquil, surrounded by trees all over. We took a couple of walks around and not even heard dogs barking. It is a very well kept middle class area.

Very spacious cottage on a beautiful piece of property. The cottage is big enough to house a family of four on vacation comfortably. Very well equipped with lots of thoughtful touches like a binder of information on surrounding areas, a collection of menus from nearby restaurants, snacks in the fridge, coffee makings and directions on how to use the appliances (which saved me a lot of time in the shower not having to figure out cold and hot). Host was very responsive when I needed more toilet paper, other than that I was left alone to enjoy the cottage. Great deal on a really nice place. I am happy with my stay here.

A sweet little hideaway! The bucolic surroundings are so relaxing--we wish it'd been warm and dry enough to spend more time outside--and, once you fire up the heaters, the apartment itself is super cozy and fit for snuggling. The bed and couch are sooooo comfy, perfect for a lazy weekend. We'll definitely go back when we're in the area again.

Communication with the Jeffery's is really easy. You will be greeted with fresh food from the garden. Go for the eggs, they are excellent. Host is super easy to reach out. Home is nice.

Erica did a fantastic job of making this place feel like a second home. Everything is here that you need, and then some. She gave a brief overview of a few of the necessities in the cottage and I got along just fine after that. The juice, yogurt, eggs and fresh pastries were perfect! I stayed 3 nights and didn't get to enjoy the serenity and landscape near as much as I would've liked. This place is a gem and so is the hostess!! I felt very safe, comfortable and at ease. I would highly recommend others explore this as an option while in the area.

I just spent the weekend at the Cottage Pool House for a photo shoot for my company. We had such a great time, the house and grounds are beautiful. My business partner and staff could not have been happier, or more appreciative of the Vaughan's hospitality. They went above and beyond in every aspect of making our stay special and comfortable.

Staying at bob's pool house was a real treat. The space itself was gorgeously appointed, immaculate, open and full of light. We did not spend much time inside though as the pool was too much fun. The property is situated amidst a lovely farm with an organic garden full of peppers, heirloom tomatoes, corn, and other delicious right off the vine produce. There is a cow and pig, as well as a few working Collies and a chicken coop that comes with the added bonus of fresh hand-selected eggs in the morning if desired. Bob was very generous and a pleasure to talk to. We would definitely come back and recommend this property to our friends.

this is the ideal foodie destination hangout and the current photos do not do this place justice.. bob was so welcoming, available, and accommodating, specifically taking time out of his day to set up the brick oven so we could spend our whole day cooking pizza, roasted chicken, and blistered fruit and cheese, while hanging out for endless hours by the pool with our dog.. the property has everything you'll need to feel spoiled and relaxed; you will never want or need to get away at any point during your stay.. one note for private ppl: this is definitely a mini resort with a handful of people milling around at all times, so keep that in mind.. for more social ppl, this is the best place to host a continual roundtable hangout and dinner for an entire week or weekend or however long your budget allows.. we will never forget this place.. thank you!

Oh my gosh! This was the perfect city get away! My daughter and I visited with her god mom, and we spent all day by the pool and exploring everything the grounds had to offer. Robert and his wife were beyond kind and sweet. They provided an amazing experience and helped us with anything we asked. The pool and outside area is amazing, better then the photos! Cant wait to go back! BONUS: It is so close to everything you need, grocery store, dollar store, restaurants, drug stores etc.

We had an incredible time staying in the Vaughan's pool house for a weekend. All together we had 4 adults and 1 dog, and the space suited us well. We had plenty of room inside the pool house to eat, sleep, and relax, and our dog loved sunbathing on the patio whenever we decided to take a dip in the pool or spa. The Vaughans are lovely hosts, offering us treats from their newest outdoor addition--a pizza oven! I would highly recommend the pool house to any small group looking to enjoy some California sunshine.

What a fantastic stay at the Cottage Pool House in Auburn. This spot is truly something special. Bob was an incredibly gracious host. Our group found the home to be very comfortable -- it was appointed with everything that we needed! The pool/spa were amazing! The weather was perfect and we got to use them both! Very cool that you control all of the settings with a touch of a button on your smartphone. This was by far the most positive Air BNB experience I have ever had. I would come back to Auburn again just to stay here.

My husband and I had such a pleasant time using Robert's Cottage Pool House. It was such a lovely cottage with loads of charm, relaxing views, and a perfectly cozy fireplace. The hosts even provided fresh eggs (among other items) from their chicken coop. We will definitely be back when we find ourselves in need of a place in Auburn.

A wonderful, warm, inviting retreat from the hustle and bustle of life situated in the foothills of the Sierras. Beautiful views of the canyon and sounds of the river will melt away your stress. We enjoyed our hike along the river and views of two little waterfalls on Birdie's property. She was a lovely hostess and clearly put a lot of effort into creating an inviting escape.

The Hobbit house is such a comfortable and lovely home nestled on spectacular property. The house was unique and the custom finishing and attention to detail are impressive. The decor was also on point! We enjoyed sitting at the bistro table and drinking a glass of wine while we watched the sun set over the river. Birdie and Glen have provided terrific trails to many places on the property where you can bask in the sun and see the stunning river. We really enjoyed watching the hummingbirds drink from the feeder right outside of the living room window. Birdie even had fresh eggs waiting for us and we even had the chance to watch the chickens roam the property. This place was amazing and the hosts were as well!

Really sweet place. Amazing location with the river right there. Perfect spot for a family of 4. Wish we had more time to explore the area but had a nice morning hike to the falls.

The inside was incredibly creative and the outside is one of the most beautiful views you can see in the mornings.

We had a lovely 2 night stay at the Little Hobbit House. It was a peaceful and scenic location with river views and 12 acres of land to explore. We enjoyed a short hike to a waterfall and relaxing under the trees on the observation deck. Birdie and Glenn provided lots of unexpected extra touches from fresh eggs to popcorn and hot chocolate. This was a relaxing place to stay and enjoy nature.

This place has an amazing river. Not one but two small waterfalls and incredible sunset. The house was just like seen in the pictures. The studio was nice neat and clean.

This was such a great place to stay! The cabin is just amazing as well as the area around. It was stocked with more than enough kitchen utilities to cook with and even had a great movie selection to watch at night. The cabin is very welcoming and just a great place to get away. We will defiantly book a stay here again.

Awesome place, and so close to feather falls trail. The weather didn't cooperate with us but we had a great time snuggled up by the fire watching movies in the cabin. Definitely a great place to get away from everything.

This cabin was the perfect getaway for us. I think it was even nicer in person than the pictures and description indicated. Very roomy for two couples, great kitchen, and large dining/living area. We made big meals with the fully stocked kitchen. Outside space was awesome with wrap around deck and fire ring which was great to enjoy the late night stars. The location is relatively remote which was perfect for going off grid for the new year. We would love to go back.

DeAnna's place was really awesome. Extremely isolated cabin perfect for a weekend get away. The cabin was well kept and very clean upon arrival. No complaints could be thought of and definitely would recommend if that is what you're looking for!

At Tammi's place, you'll encounter friendly humans, as well as a horse, a donkey, a number of feline and canine residents, a boisterous goose, dozens of chickens of all ages, as well as ewes and rams. There are also neighborhood peacocks, cows, and horses. For guests seeking a pristine BnB experience with high-end amenities, this isn't the place. But for those seeking authenticity and a comfy home base on a working farm, you'll be in heaven.

The Yuba Yurt sits in one of the most beautiful places that I've been to in California! Staying in a yurt was a very special way to enjoy the beauty of the area. My husband, 3-year old boy, dog, & I all had a great time. Kathy & Jim were great hosts and made us feel very welcomed. We found the place easily and there were clear directions for how to access/use everything on the property.

We had the best time at this cozy yurt. Built beautiful fires, soaked in the tub (tip: buy bath salts at kitkitdizzi in downtown Nevada City), enjoyed the full kitchen and slept great. Highly recommended!

Great space, and wonderfull location everything was great!

I had a nice short stay in the Yurt in early June '14. The setting is beautiful and the yurt itself is a practical alternative to a cabin, and feels much roomier than a traditional log building. The kitchen is well equipped and the seating and sleeping areas are comfortable. Everything was clean and in good condition. Check in and out were straightforward. Kathy & Jim were responsive to my questions and then left me well alone (which I prefer). Although the track to the yurt is well maintained, I was glad I was in 4x4 and not a more flimsy road vehicle. Even though the windows are well screened, precautions against the very plentiful mosquitoes are essential. The children at the house next door can be a bit noisy, but there is a fair amount of woodland between which helps. The woods themselves are absolutely lovely: this had the best local setting of any of the places I stayed in the Sierras, with the added bonus of a humming-bird nest not fifteen feet from the back porch, and early-morning visits from curious black-tailed deer.

Kathy and Jim were very helpful and informative hosts. They gave us very detailed directions prior to our arrival to help us find the lovely yurt in North San Juan. Upon our arrival the yurt was stocked with local travel information, sight-seeing suggestions, and recommendations for restaurants and shopping. We followed their advice and enjoyed two excellent meals at Ridge Cafe. The yurt is fully appointed with everything you need including an outdoor tub (which we enjoyed while stargazing), an electric grill, internet, stocked kitchen, and ample space for relaxation. We followed the directions in the house manual to a local swimming hole on the North Fork and found the most wonderful swimming spot which we had all to ourselves. This area is so full of beautiful places to explore and we cannot wait to come back for another visit.

The Yuba Yurt was exactly as described. Before we arrived, our lovely host emailed me a few places we eat. When we got to the yurt, the guest book had directions and recommendations to just about everything the town had to offer. A lovely get away!

The Yurt was wonderful...Perfect for my family. Nestled back in the trees and very private, we all enjoyed the outside bath tub on the deck every morning. It was a sweet experience, and we would definitely stay here again.

Lauren & Jordan will set up this gorgeous & super comfortable glamping tent wherever you need it! We used it outside our friend's house so we could have the ultimate girls' weekend. The tent was very roomy and the two queen beds were clean and cozy. Lauren & Jordan added a number of details, such as local jam & treats, which were greatly appreciated. We were all blown away and will definitely be using them again!

A fantastic retreat with beautiful natural light. Jo Anna and Mark provided the most delightful homemade treats!

We pulled in after a long, sun-drenched day on the Yuba. Luke, their cute, energetic, and obedient dog greeted us with immediately, letting us know we were home. The red, purple hues of the setting sun on the forested hills in the distance helped calm our achy muscles and put us in a deep relaxed state, far away from the daily grind we were escaping for the night. The warmth of Mark and Jo Anna are unmatched. Fresh milk and warm bread and muffins!? We were in heaven! Their home and cottage are off the beaten path and a sanctuary, easy to settle in and recharge.

This beautiful cottage will give you a real sense of serenity as you relax and enjoy the beauty that is calififorna. You have an amazing view from your porch and so close to so many wonderful nature sites to keep you busy if you wish. Mark and Jo Anna are wonderful and accomodating hosts...you can see it in many personal touches from fresh cut flowers, homemade bread and muffins and milk from local farm. You have all the basics for cooking and a full kitchen which Is important to me since I love to cook. We couldn't have asked for anything more and definitely will come again. Highly recommend!

JoAnna and Mark were wonderful hosts, friendly and helpful. Our first morning there, Joanna brought us wonderful fresh muffins and a loaf of bread, as well as a large jar of fresh milk. The place was comfortable and cozy for the three of us. Our daughter loved the loft, and the bed in the bedroom was very comfortable. The bluebirds, wild geese and night stars were a welcome replacement for plane noise and chem trails that we see at home. This was a very peaceful place, perfect for our week long vacation.

The cottage felt like a fairy tale. It is nestled on a beautiful property and Mark and Jo Anna were the perfect hosts- friendly and accommodating but not intrusive. They even made us granola for breakfast! This is a magical little retreat and a very quiet place to reset.

Barbara's place is Rural Solitude, in the best sense of the phrase. It is in a fairly remote section of the state, but it is a truly quiet restful place, with good access to all things outdoors. It was immaculately clean, roomy, and came with amenities one could expect at twice the price. Barbara is a warm, welcoming host who made us feel comfortable, and provided us with recommendations for some excellent and inexpensive local food. A truly spectacular Airbnb experience, especially for the price.

I was very pleased with my first AirBnB experience. Barbara is an excellent host and the location was very nice and a quiet setting located among the nice pines. Will definitely stay here gain and would recommend it to my friends. Nice bed and facilities.

Barbara was a great host. We very much enjoyed our stay, and she kindly provided us with directions, and a nice handwritten guide to various stops in the area. Her recommendations were excellent. The house and room were very nice clean.

Barbara went out of her way to help us find her remote property, especially needed in light of the fact that we arrived after dark, and couldn't get phone service in her area. Once we found her place we were welcomed, offered glasses of wine, allowed to use the kitchen, and then invited to join her in the dining room for conversation. We slept comfortably on her futon. This is just as advertised: "A beautiful home in rural area. Great for doing nothing." I found it hard to leave!

We loved staying at Barbara's house! The rural area is beautiful, with many birds. Barbara was super friendly, and even made us delicious oatmeal. She had lots of great recommendations for local activities.

John and Barbara welcomed us warmly on our arrival, showed us around the house, and made us comfortable. The listing of the place was completely accurate, describing the available accommodations precisely. The home was beautiful and comfortable, and the neighborhood was quiet and full of natural beauty. They told us about the attractions in the area, where to dine, and what to see. They made it easy for us to come and go, and sent us off with hugs and waves. We had a lovely time.

We were welcome into their house and made to feel right at home. The host allowed us to be as social or private as we wanted, I really liked that. It really felt like a home away from home, we could come and go as we pleased. We got to stay in a very comfortable room in this gorgeous house for a great price with incredible scenery. I don't know how it could have been any better. We made some good friends, and some great memories, I won't ever forget this experience.

Barbara and her roomie John are super pleasant folks very laid back and easy going. I enjoyed full kitchen access for prepping meals, walks along the gravel road leading to their home and hiking trips to the reservoir, park trails and local grocery. Overall a memorable few days in the back country of California.

The cottage was a fantastic place to stay for two nights, and we wished we could have stayed longer. We would definitely visit again. The cottage was comfortable, the location quiet and pleasant, and near many things: hiking, swimming, nice places to eat and drink. Tara was always helpful and informative on email, and pleasure to talk to in person.

Tara responded quickly to my last minute request & was great at communicating the whole time. The grounds are BEAUTIFUL & just as pictured. I was grateful to see so much Fall tree action- big difference from Oakland. The binder with tips & pamphlets on local food, massage, yoga etc is super helpful and if we had more time we would've certainly used a few more of her suggestions besides food. The kleenex, shampoo/soap essentials are excellent eco friendly & in fact what I use at home, which I find to be a nice touch (oh and the coffee in the room was also top notch). The cottage itself is immaculately clean, cozy & comfortable on all levels. The whole place has a great energy and felt open & peaceful. She runs a horse sanctuary as well, so if you need to commune with gentle beings and enjoy nature I highly recommend. We're grateful to Tara for having such a special place. I wish her as many respectful visitors as she needs. Nevada City is a fun & cute tiny little old timey town.

A magical place to get away from the chaos of the world. The host respected our privacy, but was still available if we needed. The energy of this place feels very loving and welcoming. We plan on visiting again in the future. Beautiful horses and trees. And even though we didn't swim in the saltwater pool, it was a nice feature. There's also a fun horseshoe game you can play if you want, and a swing near the pond. I'd highly recommend this place. It's a warm, cozy home where you can feel relaxed and safe.

We really enjoyed our brief stay at Tara's sweet cottage. It felt spacious and comfortable, and was very clean and aesthetically pleasing. The pastoral setting is lovely and peaceful. We didn't get a chance to check out the pool, or the horses, but will certainly do that on our next visit. Tara was very welcoming and friendly, as was her beautiful dog, Leilani.

This was our third stay in Tara's cottage, and it was wonderful, as usual. The cottage is really comfortable and well-appointed, and we love the serene setting. Tara has been so responsive to little suggestions that we have made, and even bigger suggestions like adding a screen door. I'm sure we will be back again when we return to the area.

This was my first airbnb experience and I am very happy to say that the Butler Cottage was exactly as described and more! We absolutely loved our stay and will definitely be booking again, or one of the other properties which I am sure are very similar in experience. Not a negative word to say about this stay, but I do now have very high expectations for any other further airbnb experiences that will not be with Justin and Aldo. Highly recommend!

We (3 adults) stayed here 2 nights in Spring. The cottage sleeps 3 very comfortably (I was on the sleeper couch) and is a true home-away-from-home with a fully equipped kitchen, plentiful hangers, linens, and an ingenious console that expands to a full dining table. Easy walk to downtown, on quiet streets. Affable, welcoming hosts. Wish I could give more than 5 stars!

This is a delightful little cottage about 15 minutes walking from town. Could not have asked for a better location and includes everything you could possibly ask for. Justin was very accommodating as far as checking in. Would definitely recommend and would love to return.

We had an unbelievably nice stay in Justin's beautiful place in Grass Valley. Every detail was perfect--the well-equipped kitchen with thoughtful coffee and snacks, the classy decorating, comfy couch and bed and great bathroom. We loved sitting outside in the morning having breakfast in the amazing garden--loved it!!! Lots of closet space, great TV, internet and info. Chatting with Justin was a pleasure. Justin happened to be working outside when my husband and I pulled up. He greeted us and proceeded to take us directly to the cottage. The cottage was just as described! After a long car ride it was the perfect retreat! It was a wonderful feeling just to be able to walk into a place and immediately feel welcome. The cottage was incredibly clean and tidy. Everything that we could possibly need was there. The cottage is close to downtown Grass Valley, so everything was just a short trip away. This was our first Airbnb experience and it was great. We will defiantly be staying here again when we come back to visit family. I cannot recommend Butler Cottage enough! This is the perfect place to stay in Grass Valley!

My family (2 adults and 2 young children) had a really great stay at Geraldine's. Everything was as described and her rental was fantastic and relaxing. Even my 6 and 4 year old commented on how "cool" it was. There were hummingbirds every 15 minutes to wonder at, lizards to follow around, and cows to gaze upon ; ) We used the grill to cook chicken and the simple kitchen (hotplate, sink, electric kettle, and all necessary utensils) were just right. The views, the quiet, and the hammock were really appreciated by this mom ! And the location was perfect for treks to Oregon Creek, Collins Lake, and wine tasting. Also, the croissants were the best breakfast treat ; ) So very satisfied with our stay at Geraldine's!

Geraldine's place offered me a wonderful experience! The apartment exceeded my expectations. It was aesthetic, comfortable, and clean! I planned to leave early, but the morning was so beautiful, I found myself sitting in the patio and enjoying the blooming garden and the landscape. Geraldine made me feel very welcome, with warm hospitality and respect for my privacy. Next time I will plan a longer stay!

My husband and I arrived on a Friday evening and stayed until late Sunday morning, and loved every moment. It was a perfect kid-free weekend getaway. The home was beautiful and the view was amazing. The photos don't do it justice. Everything was immaculate, including the perfectly landscaped yard. Geraldine truly made our stay absolutely wonderful! She was very responsive to every need and super helpful. She even brought us a bowl of nectarines from a nearby orchard and some fresh local milk! And those croissants - oh my god. They were amazing. We both had the chocolate. :) The home is exactly as described - a studio attached to the main home. Even though she lives in the same building, you would never know it. You have your own space, your own entrance and your own patio to lounge in. It's just perfect. Thank you again Geraldine for an amazing stay!!

Geraldine was a great host! My girlfriend and I had a late check in and Geraldine had no problem with that (sorry for waking you up Geraladine). The place looked exactly like the pictures and is the perfect place if you want to experience a relaxing getaway. I'd recommend this place to anyone and will definitely come back again.

Geraldine's cottage was a perfect place for respite and serenity in the Sierra foothills. The atmosphere, as well as the amenities in the cottage make it a place to feel the silence of nature, with the comfort of home. Geraldine was a generous resource regarding the local cuisine and gastronomic delights... And as a result, I feasted on local fare, upon arriving at the cottage. I highly recommend This space to anyone visiting the region, and beyond.

Terrific stay. Geraldine was very welcoming and accommodating. Very quiet and comfortable room. Had everything I needed. WiFi was very good. Hosted a Zoom meeting while I was there. No cell signal, but it was okay when I connected my phone to WiFi. Will stay here again.

Peaceful Pines was wonderful! It was close enough to town (about 7 min) but secluded enough for a little rest. The apartment is connected to the house, but there is a separate entrance. The windows face the pool and landscape. It was decorated beautifully and I felt very comfortable. Ann was a gracious host and very good communicator. I would come back and highly recommend.

Ann's place was amazing! The house is away from the hustle and bustle of a big city, but all necessities are a short drive away. It's very close to the North Lake Tahoe area. The guest suit was very clean and nicely decorated. The full kitchen was perfect for saving money by cooking our own meals.

We had such a relaxing stay and felt that everything that we could have needed was provided at Peaceful Pines. The location was perfect, tucked away surrounded by nature but was a quick five minute drive to downtown Nevada City. From the moment we walked in, we felt the stress of the daily grind of the city begin to melt as the place was super clean, equipped with everything that we need. In the evening the cute little electric burning stove warmed up the place and there were plenty of blankets to snuggle under. The linens and towels where soft and of good quality and the kitchen was well equipped with everything we needed to stay in and cook. I especially enjoyed the times where I sat out on the deck with my tea and listened to the birds and looked out across the trees. Ann was a wonderful host who gave us privacy and space and was a great communicator prior to our trip. I had asked for suggested hikes and Ann gave me a few that were breathtaking. In the apartment there were also a great variety books for trail hikes and places to visit in and around the area. My wife and I came out to Nevada City for some rest and restoration and we got exactly that at Peaceful Pines. Thank you so much Ann!

We stayed for a romantic day and evening around Christmas and absolutely loved Roi's place and its location. The bedroom is very comfortable and warm and the living room area is very relaxing. The bath and shower are wonderful. Location is a short walk to all of the fun shopping, eating, and drinking of Nevada City. We are still talking about how much fun we had and how much we look forward to staying at Roi's place again when we need our fix of Nevada City.

What a fabulous location, and a charming home. Highly recommended for anyone coming to Nevada City and wanting to be within walking distance of all the restaurants and shops.

I had a wonderful stay at this place. The host was very attentive to any needs I had and responded within the hour on Airbnb. The house was exceptionally clean, the bed was very comfortable, and the bathroom was great. It felt as though I had the ameities of a hotel but the privacy and freedom of a home. I will definitely be staying here again next time!

Fantastic location - only steps away from Nevada City's charming downtown. Easy check in via a lock box. Beautiful accommodations! Host has done a phenomenal job with decor and utilizing 600 square feet! The photos are exactly how it appears - perfection! A comfortable little cottage in a quiet neighborhood. It is within walking distance of downtown Grass Valley where there are several good restaurants. It is also not too far to the interesting Empire Mine State Historic Park, with a visit if you have a few hours.

My boyfriend and I really enjoyed our stay at the cottage! Adorable, quiet and private place, in a quiet neighborhood. A perfect size for a couple, and the bottle of wine that greeted our arrival was a nice plus after a long drive! The hosts were very quick to respond, were super sweet, and helpful with suggestions. The cottage does get quite warm/hot at times, given the summer weather, and no AC. There is a fan that helps take the edge off. Overall, we definitely recommend! Very close to the cute and quirky downtown Grass Valley and a quick drive or cab ride to Nevada City. Thank you!

Great stay. Description very accurate. Great location. We went on several hikes at Empire Mine. Neighborhood is very quiet yet close to town. Bed was very comfortable. Would like to have more pots and pans and a cookie sheet in the kitchen. Oven does not work very well. Overall an excellent stay and would recommend.

The Cottage was the absolute perfect home away from home. I stayed for nearly two weeks and was comfortable during the entire stay due to the great amenities and outfittings that Darla and Peter have invested in. The space is small, ideal for 2 people max. However, with the portable TV, movies, books, and ample kitchen supplies I never felt I was lacking. The Cottage is also very close to historic downtown Grass Valley and beautiful running trails at Empire Mine.

Wendy is a lovely hostess! When we got to the cottage the heater was on, and there was a sweet note and chocolate to welcome us. The cottage is very tasteful and clean. The neighborhood is quiet and close to town. I would definitely recommend this place to others.

We had a wonderful stay. The space was the perfect setting for a restorative getaway. Every last detail of the place felt lovingly and stylishly curated and designed to create a sense of beauty and an experience of sanctuary. From persimmons from their tree, palo santo, good books and water colors to beautiful bedclothes, window dressings and floor coverings in a warm, clean and bright space, Wendy took care to welcome all of the senses. We also felt well introduced to the town by her insider recommendations. Highly recommended.

Wendy's guesthouse is wonderful. Some of the reviews state that the pictures do not do it justice and that is honestly the case! The place is tastefully decorated, very comfortable, and extremely clean. Wendy has a full list of recommendations on where to eat, swimming holes to visit on the Yuba River, and even where to do your laundry! We also LOVED the cassette player with the reggae mixed tapes. We will definitely be back to stay for a weekend getaway. Thank you Wendy!

We were unable to complete our stay due to medical issues with my husband. The accommodation was clean and convenient to the area we were visiting. The mattress was too soft for us and there needs to be comfortable seating (sofa, easy chair and task lighting for reading). Our host was friendly and pleasant.

Wendy and Joe's casita was perfect for our family. We slept comfortably and had everything we needed to prepare our meals. The accommodations were clean and stylish, we appreciated the extra gestures from our hosts such as bathrobes, good olive oil, and a boom box with old reggae tapes! Wendy was kind enough to include a few toys and books for our 1 year old daughter which made us feel very welcome. The location was convenient for us with a grocery store, restaurants and yoga in walking distance. We would not hesitate to stay again!

Wendy and Joe were great! We loved their cute little cottage. It was perfect for my husband, daughter and I. There were beautiful Heath dishes and enough cookware here for us to make coffee and cook simple meals. There were plenty of extra pillows and blankets, lovely linen sheets, and soft towels. The shower had nice strong hot water, and there was a good heater. In addition to all the essentials, we arrived to chocolate, flowers and wine, and really great info about the town and places to go. Finally, we really enjoyed getting to meet Wendy and Joe and hope to see them again someday.
