You have to try Beignets and Cafe Au Leit while you're in new Orleans! The Cafe Du Monde in the Quarter is definitely a better tourist experience, I'd recommend that one if you're close by. This locations is really close to the house, and they even have a drive through. It's great for days that you're not venturing into New Orleans.

City park is a great place to be outdoors in New Orleans. There are peddle boats you can ride around the lake, a playground area for kids, a small amusement part, a botanical garden, and plenty of beautiful Oak trees to sit under.

Sightseeing

You can't visit New Orleans without visiting the Quarter. It's known for the bars and nightlife, but I prefer to visit during the day.

If you're a fan of Walmart, this is the closest one to my house. They have everything you need, but they typically stay crowded with long lines. I try to stay away and go to Target if possible.
