Federal Hill is the Little Italy of Providence. Great meals, desserts, drinks...it's all there. My favorite spot for eating and people watching is DePasquale Square.

My faves are AS220, Local 121, and Ken's Raman. Ken's doesn't take reservations and there's often a wait, but so so fresh and good.

Lots of great restaurants: North (on Carpenter Street), Nick's on Broadway, Julian's, The Grange (vegetarian) and Broadway Bistro are all among my faves. North doesn't take reservations, but, if you like bar scenes, you can wait across the street at The Avery-no sign, just if you know about it. Julian's also has a bar and great brew selection.

My favorites are Antonios for pizza (informal) and Kabob and Curry for Indian. A great spot to walk around and enjoy the shops and college town feel. Also on the East Side but further down Hope Street, other favorites include Chez Pascal and Ristorante Pizzico.
