You can't drive into the valley and it's quite beautiful. 30 minutes down and hopefully about the same back up. Black sand beach, river going into the ocean, and surf sometimes. Be careful though, no lifeguard.

It's a blast into the past of Hawaii, and it's a beautiful spot. You can swim and snorkel there too, but it's not a beach park--you cannot leave things on the beach.

Great produce, good wine, neighborhood store where you can feel like you are in a neighborhood (which you are). AND, it's right next door. Talk about convenient!

Entertainment & Activities
Swimming/snorkeling at Kealakekua is quite beautiful and the Fair Wind has been doing this trip for decades. They have it down! It's fun and definitely recommended.
