Lime Grove Lifestyle Centre also has a variety of other restaurants and shops, including a pastry and gelato shop next door to Lemongrass. There's also a cinema, a bit pricey maybe but very spacious and comfortable and their menu offers more than popcorn, burgers and fries.

Certainly not the cheapest but also not the most expensive place to eat and there is a set price option at lunch. The location is fantastic and their sticky toffee pudding is to die for - just saying.

Right on the beach and, by all accounts, a must for live music fans but book early for music nights as it's very popular. it's also a lovely breakfast and lunch spot.

Historic Jacobean mansion; rum distillery; short but scenic steam train ride and you can help turn the train around at the end of the line for the journey back - the short ride might be disappointing for adults but it's long enough for the kids.

It's a nice couple of hours with the children: be careful not to trip over a tortoise, they're everywhere! If you're feeling more energetic, you can hike the "forest" as well.

Hunte's Gardens is really beautiful. A massive, collapsed cave has been converted into an ornately designed garden. The owner, Anthony Hunte, likes to interact with visitors over refreshments (rum punch anyone?) but that's an optional "extra". I'm not sure children would find the experience all that interesting though.

Travel by "train" underground and see lakes, streams, waterfalls and glistening stalagmites and stalactites - it's quite magical and not too long that the children get bored. Definitely worth a visit. Other experiences are also offered - check the website.
