Our favourite cafe, run by Bruce, who makes all of the cakes. Gluten free, and always has vegan cakes too. They taste so good that you can't tell that they are all GF. Great tea and coffee too. Soup and paninis, scones, sinful cakes. Daytime only.

Ruins of the old Priory, knocked down by Henry the Eighth as part of the reformation of the church in England. Lovely sun trap in fine weather, and worth an hour if you like historical ruins. A few minutes walk from our property, access via a small gate near the main entrance to St Nicholas Church.

Busy, attractive holiday resort. Accessible by bus from Guisborough Market Place (bus stop outside Boots the Chemist) or by car, about 20 miles. Use the Park and Ride in high season, parking in Whitby itself is tricky as it is very popular and can be crowded.
