Sightseeing

This unique building dates from the medieval ages and is a remnant of the city walls built to protect the rich merchants who traded in the city. Today, the Spanish Arch Square also houses Galway City Museum and Spanish Parade where hundreds of people stroll or sit on the banks of the Corrib to relax and enjoy the spectacular beauty of the Claddagh. The Spanish Arch is approximately 3 mins from the apartment.

Here locals and tourists mingle daily on leisurely walks while taking in the spectacular views across the bay. There is ample opportunity for swimming and fun on the clean beaches and the Prom itself has lots of seating. The diving boards at Blackrock provide suitable challenges for brave thrill seekers.

This is one of my favorite places in the city and a very easy place to lose oneself for a few hours! There are thousands of books on every possible topic at very reasonable prices, including a whole section for children.
