I can’t rave about this place enough. American BBQ style briskets, southern style chicken & brilliant service. You will leave feeling like one of the locals.

Another one of Malmsbury’s local gems. Whether it’s an Elm Cottage staple Cottage or fruit loaf, or one of their delicious pies, you won’t be disappointed. I know it’s blasphemy this time of year, but their hot cross buns are to die for.

Fairly new on the Malmsbury scene, this little gem is breaking the mould. With dishes drawing from local produce and seasonal offerings, it’s super sweet and a great way to start the day. Breakfast finishes at 11 though, so don’t plan on sleeping in too long or you will miss out on some delish village morsels.

An easy walk amongst tall eucalypts and particularly beautiful during the Winter months when there is snowfall. Unfortunately this area has suffered significant damage in recent storms, so worth checking online whether its open before you head off. Roads to ‘The Mount’ tend to close in high wind conditions due to falling trees.

Retail musts

The most amazing childrens bookstore you will find anywhere. Beautiful quality books and a dedicated team of bookstore angels who clearly love what they do too.
