I regularly do this hike with friends! It isn't difficult, but it can be strenuous at time. Budget anything from an 1.5 hours to up to 4 hours to enjoy this spectacular footpath and the incredible views of Cape Town.

I go for a sunset walk on the Promenade almost every night after work. To step it up, I would recommend hiring a bike from Up Cycles Sea Point (www.upcycles.co.za), only R80 for an hour as at November 2019. The business closes at sunset. A final bonus would be going for an ice cream at The Creamery Café Mouille Point for some of the tastiest ice cream in Cape Town.

Open on Saturdays and Sundays, this spot is the perfect place to grab delicious food from a range of cuisines, only closing in the early afternoon. If you are into organic produce, various local farmers sell an incredible range of fruits and vegetables too.

It is one of the oldest Cape Dutch farms in South Africa. Spend a couple of hours walking the property; seeing the 300+ selection of plants, and spiraling secret gardens. Have a bite to eat at the Garden Shed restaurant, or really treat yourself with some fine dining at Babel restaurant. Their farm stall is stunning, with an offering of honeys, preserves, wine, kitchenware, nuts, olive oil, cheese, chocolate and many more...

City advice

Getting around

Uber

Many restaurants and shopping centres are within walking distance, but I would always recommend Uber. It is very accessible in the area, with plenty of Ubers around the area at any given time.
What to pack

Bring a swimming costume.

There is a stunning rim-flow pool on our apartment block's rooftop floor.
Book before you go

Reserve restaurants up front using DinePlan.

Creating an account on DinePlan is free and easy. It also allows you to view and manage your bookings, pay for deposits for bookings etc. Many restaurants are on DinePlan, and it is an easy way to see what's out there.
