Beach
Located only 5 minutes by car from the apartment. Here you can find lots of restaurants and bars. Good going out scene in the evening (weekend) and a nice beach to lay on during the day. Normally after 5 pm it’s free to get on the beach. So you could always go just to see the sun set ;).

Great laid back spot to spend a morning or afternoon, and amazing snorkeling spot with the sunken tugboat. Very easy to reach and absolutely stunning to visit!

Zanzibar is an excellent beach restaurant for lunch or dinner. In the weekend nice going out scene often with live music. Very popular swimming/beach spot for locals and tourists.

Lovely free public beach with lots of shade and a nice food spot. One of my favorite beaches on the island. Not as crowded compared to other beaches.

Beautiful cozy beach. Often sea turtles can be spotted here. Nice for snorkling. Also nice for diving, there is a beautiful reef and a dive shop at the beach.

Sightseeing
The historical city Willemstad is a must visit. Make sure to explore both Punda and the other half Otrobanda. In between the two halves lies the lovely ‘swinging lady’, as the locals call her, the pontoon bridge. In the evening it’s beautifully lit with colored lights and makes a nice backdrop for pictures. Have a drink at the Iguana cafe by the water and watch the boats come into the Harbour.

Nice cave formations and old Indian drawings to visit. The guides are very knowledgeable and after the cave tour you can do a hike to visit some of the local flora.

Very good food, a bit more high end. Even if you find this restaurant too expensive to eat, do visit it because the view from on top of the hill is breath taking. Tip: go just before sunset so it’s not too hot and if you stay long enough you can also see all the lights of Willemstad and surroundings.

Going out
Very nice bar with great musicians local and sometimes from abroad. Laid back atmosphere and good service. Their cheese balls and funchi fries are some of the best I ever had. Keep an eye out for their Rock Chicks evening, those are the best!

Nature
Go as early as is possible to hike the highest mountain of Curacao. Locals usually leave from the East side when it’s still dark, to start climbing the mountain at dawn. Bring enough water and good sneakers. I would not recommend to go in periods with lots of rain, because the trail can get very slippery and therefore dangerous. You’ll need an average fitness level, mostly hiking. The last part just before the top can be a bit tricky. You’ll need to climb a bit onto rocks. The view is absolutely stunning and worth the hike.
