Wayyyy too expensive to stay but you can enjoy the resort of an $800 a night place by just paying $20 to park your car then hike up the rock scramble a 2 hour hike to the tower on top of the mountain. Bring a bag lunch, start early, then go to the cute historic town of New Paltz to wander through the many artsy hippy shops, have Starbucks and enjoy some tacos before heading back to our home after dinner, just a little over an hour drive away for a day of local upstate New York fun for cheap!

City advice
Travelling with kids
Going into the city with a child younger than 8?
Walking in NYC is too much for little kids. Bring a light weight stroller or you will be carrying them for 8 hours.
Getting around
If you have more than 2 people a Taxi will cost
With more than 2 people, a taxi will cost you the same as a subway ride. Avoid rush hour. Much more comfortable and direct to location so less walking and confusion. Put your arm straight up in air and make eye contact. If it’s raining it is more challenging to get a cab.
What to pack
Comfortable walking shoes. Big scarf to tuck your face in
If it’s cold that is. Gloves, layers easy to remove when going in shops. Comfortable shoes is key, express your hip fashion elsewhere 😉
