Breweries

Fredericton has an EXCELLENT Brewery Scene, if you want to hop around to a few (or just want to know what is local at NB Liquor) read on!
This brewery is my favourite hangout in Fredericton. It is has a very laid back vibe where friends gather in the afternoon and evenings for a drink (baby friendly too). They have an awesome outdoor patio and the a Food Truck is there most days in the summer (try the pulled duck naanwich at Monks and Jonesie!).

Trailway is locally owned and run brewery! They are known for their citrusy hops and huge variety of flavours. They are located on the Northside of Fredericton, across the bridge, but it is easy to hop in a cab over there (or if you would like, borrow the bikes and take a ride over)! The vibe is great, lots of locals will hang out there weekdays and weekends and they have a few board games and things to play if you like!

Sightseeing

The views from the walking bridge never get old. If you head over around sunset you can get some pretty beautiful views of downtown from the bridge. If you are walking over to the northside anyway, definitely make a pit stop at the new Picaoons Roundhouse for a pint and some locally made and produced foods!

If you are looking to escape to nature but not venture out of the city, Odell is the place to go! There are horses, a duck pond, many trails to walk and a the beautiful Botanical Gardens at the very top!

A lovely nature preserve with lots of trails and wildlife! Easily accessible from Fredericton’s great trail system. From my place you can bike in about 20 minutes by heading across the Bill Thorpe Walking bridge and turning right just past Picaroons (also a nice little pit stop 🍻). Follow the signs for Hyla Park and you will eventually hit the walking trail system. You can also drive easily, pop over and park! It’s a park within the city that once you are into the trails feels like yoy are out in the wilderness, it’s lovely for a quick walk, or for a longer exploration!

Food Scene

Awesome Gastropub with local beer on tap and cool cocktails. They do awesome food at not crazy prices and the atmosphere is great. They also do a great lunch!

Only open on Saturday mornings, BUT if you happen to be visiting on a Saturday, I highly recommend checking out this market. From spring to fall this place is packed inside and out. I recommend checking out the food vendors outside and getting yourself some lunch (the samosas are a Fredericton staple). And wander through the inside to find things ranging from leather works to jewelry and fresh produce and baked goods!

This is one of Fredericton’s BEST restaurants. It’s a small venue, with small plates, and THE BEST cocktails. Be prepared to be there for a few hours, it’s a great vibe.
