City advice

Getting around

Golf carts can be rented by the day or week.

There are several places to rent them in Port A. Most of the town streets allow them but not RT 361 south of Cut Off Rd/E Avenue G. They are fun to drive and take to the beach.
Getting around

Port Aransas/Aransas Pass Channel ferry.

If arriving thru Aransas Pass to Port Aransas, you must use the ferry. It is free but sometimes the wait to get on it to cross (200 yards) can be 15 minutes or more. There are four that can run at one time, but not all are in service. They hold between ~12 and ~20 cars/trucks.
Customs and culture

Beach Parking passes $12.00

You will need a beach parking pass if you are driving your personal car/truck/motorcycle and parking at the beach. You do not need to buy one for a golf cart if you decide to rent one. They can be purchased at most gas stations in town and they are good for one calendar year. Put it on your dash or windshield in view. The fine for not having one is $500.00.
