American WWII airfield on the edge of Bottisham village. Vividly brought back to like by committed volunteers. Has a cafe selling teas and cake. Check opening times - normally only open on Sundays

Built in 1851 to replace laborers' cottages that had been burned down by a disgruntled laborer. Originally contained 15 dwellings, and the courtyard in the middle was muddy and used for livestock. In the 1950s, the cottages were condemned as uninhabitable and marked for demolition. I have met people in the village who used to play in them as children, and used to chase eachother from one end of the terrace to the other. In the 1960s, The Arch was saved from demolition, and they were given a new lease of life when they were renovated into the 7 cottages that exist now. The Pink Cottage is one of these cottages.

City advice

Getting around

Getting into Cambridge

There is a bus (stagecoach number 11) that goes from the bus stop close by to the cottage (on the same side of the road as the cottage). Doesn't run evenings or Sundays. There is a park and ride very nearby; finishes early evening. Uber operates in the village.
