Food Scene

Not just great coffee, some of the best pastries in Australia. The queue on weekends can be huge as people come from all over Sydney just for some delicious cakes.

There's something Irish sounding about this great Indian restaurant but I love it anyway. The food's great, the staff friendly and I don't get that "OMG I ate too many papadoms" overfull feeling after

The has nothing to do with Tapas and everything to do with great Japanese food, beer and sake. Just off King St on Church St. Intimate booths or counter style, this is simply my favourite place to eat

I little pricier than your average restaurant (but not by much) but well worth it. Linda's great food and Graham's wonderful smile make it all worthwhile. One of my favourites.

Drinks & Nightlife

Just a good old-fashioned local pub for a quiet beer, playing some pool or a meal. Nothing fancy. It's in the back streets so not many know it's even here.

Another of the old-fashioned pubs in the back streets. Great courtyard out the back for kids or a catch up with friends. Good place to watch AFL if you love your footy. Can get busy on Fri/Sat nights.

A cool and funky little bar in a converted butchers shop. Great cocktails and place to unwind with a couple of drinks after (or before) dinner.

Sightseeing

Take a wander through the church yard and meander your way through the headstones. A surprisingly quiet and idyllic spot in the centre of busy Newtown. The whole park is a little oasis of peace.
