This beach is about 45 minutes from our condo but totally worth the drive. It is great for families looking for a low key and safe beach for their kiddos. It is super mellow and your kids can even enjoy snorkeling around this calm bay.

What an amazing beach for spotting the beautiful Hana (Sea Turtles)! Get their early when it is relatively calm in the water. And please consider wearing a life jacket if you are swimming or snorkeling, even if you are a strong swimmer.
Just a little tip, if you are facing the ocean you can park on the left side of the beach. From there you can walk to an enormous tree and if you go early can get a spot in that shade! Or stay really clean and stay in the shade in the grass.

Skip the traffic and spend your time biking around Maui instead. You can Uber to the top of Heleakala but for everything else a bike makes life super simple, especially if you are hear just to hit the beaches!

By far one of our favorite spots to dine is Nalu's South Shore Grill. It is located in the back of a shopping plaza, but don't let that stop you. The food is amazing and the scene is super fun and beachy. Andy loves the fried chicken and waffles and the kids loves watching the chickens and roosters cluck about while we eat!

What to pack
Reef Safe Sunscreen
Our beautiful coral reefs are in danger and believe it or not, the chemicals in sunscreen are killing them. Please make sure your sunscreen says "Reef Safe" somewhere on the bottle.
