Great pizza - worth booking if you want to eat in as it's quiet small. If it's a nice day though you can always take away and eat down at Leith Links

Great coffee
A nice version of a typical pub - cheaper pints than in a lot of the surrounding hipster pubs. Great if you want to watch the football.

Sightseeing

Beautiful for walks and exploring. You can go up the hill if you're fit or around the hill if you'd like an easier walk.

Nice seaside spot - you can swim in the sea (as long as you like the cold!), play the pennies, get an ice cream. There's a nice greek bakery on the high street and good value pizza slices at Civerinos.

A tiny island that you can walk out to at low tide. Don't get stuck there though - you get cut off once the tide comes in.

One for the wild swimmers! Small and quiet bay for having a dunk in the water. The water feels cleaner than Portobello Beach.

Another good walking spot - walks by the river are beautiful. You would never know you're still in the city.

For the cyclists - Edinburgh has lots of off road cycle routes, many of them on what used to be old railway lines. Even if you don't cycle, they are nice places to walk as you are away from the roads

As the name suggests, this walk ends here at Leith and you can walk all the way out to Balerno (I think it's about 12 miles) alongside the water of Leith. You could also just walk a small amount of it.
