Show Low Bluff Trail Enjoy a leisurely hike that spans green pastures, a sparkling creek and tall ponderosa pine! You may park directly at the trailhead. A paved walking path starts at the trailhead and leads you to a bridge that provides a beautiful view of Show Low Creek and the surrounding meadow. After crossing the bridge, you will embark on a subtle incline that enters the tall ponderosa pine. Do not mistake the dirt road on the right as the trail, but continue until the paved walkway ends and the dirt trail begins on your right. You will start a short climb and note some large boulders in the area with a sign that says Woolford Trailhead. Continue to the right to complete the loop where you will eventually circle back by hiking the base of the bluff. Continue along the trail and it will take you back toward the bridge where you started. Be sure to bring a camera to snap photos of the beautiful meadow, wildflowers and grazing horses.

Lakes/Fishing

http://www.onrainbowlake.com/boat-rentals.html The water surface of Rainbow Lake is about 116 acres with an average depth of 7 feet and a maximum depth of 14 feet. Fish Variety. Fish species include Rainbow Trout, Largemouth Bass, Channel Catfish, Bluegill, Green Sunfish and illegally introduced Northern Pike. Catchable size rainbow trout are stocked in the spring and early summer. Fishing. Since much of the shoreline is privately owned, the lake is best fished from a boat. Spring and early summer is the best time to fish for trout since those are the trout stocking periods. Trolling works well for trout. Casting with spinner baits, lures and plastic worm rigs works well for largemouth bass and northern pike. Fishing the bottom using nightcrawlers and chicken livers works well for channel catfish. State fishing licenses with trout stamps are required for anglers 14 and older. There is a daily bag limit of six trout for licensed anglers and three trout for unlicensed anglers age 13 or less. Boating. Boats are restricted to electric or a maximum of 10 HP gas motors.

Park Features Located in the heart of Pinetop-Lakeside, Woodland Lake Park is the shining centerpiece of our community. In the developed areas of the park, you’ll find volleyball courts, softball fields, walking paths, and play areas, while the wilder sections are crisscrossed with hiking, biking, and equestrian trails. It’s also home to a number of different fish and bird species, so don’t forget to bring your binoculars and a fishing pole! Woodland Lake is a great place to go kayaking or boating. There are also public Ramadas overlooking the lake, which can be reserved for a family barbecue, or used during your work day for a peaceful lunch break. You may not be alone for long, though – the park is a great place to run into old friends, and maybe even make some new ones.
