Sightseeing

Well worth a trip out on a Flounder's yacht that has spaces for up to 12 people. Depending on the time of year, it is quite likely you will see beautiful dolphins on your voyage. They moor up for lunch and for a spot of snorkelling in a lagoon area.

City advice

Getting around

Hiring a car means you can see all of the island.

Cicar, Auto Reisen and Omega are probably the best companies to deal with who do not charge heavy insurance excess. You can book in advance and pick up from the airport and sometimes they will deliver to another location.
What to pack

Sun Screen!!

The sun is very strong here, so please always use sun screen and of a very high factor the first few days that you are here. Although the breeze can fool you into thinking you are not burning, the chances are, you are!, so please take care in the sun!
What to pack

Trainers or non-slip shoes for walking/hiking.

It is always a good idea to bring these if you wish to walk some of the mountain routes and volcano areas. Flip-flops are ok, but you may struggle with some of the rocky hills and paths! But the climbs and walks are usually well worth the effort with amazing views to be had!
Getting around

There is a good bus service that serves the island.

You can catch the bus from the terminus in Caleta de Fuste (20 min walk from here) that will take you to Puerto del Rosario. there you can catch connecting buses to the North of the island like Correlejo, El Cotillo. Then at Salinas, Caleta, you can catch a bus that will take you to the south of the island. Morro Jable usually takes two hours by bus.
Don't miss

Caleta de Fuste Market

An all day market in Caleta de Fuste is a great way to spend a morning or afternoon. You will find many market stall holders including a great Aloe Vera company that makes wonderful creams, soaps, shampoos containing pure aloe. Open on Tuesdays and Saturdays.
