Famous New Orleans style Creole breakfast/brunch and lunch. Typically has very long waits on the weekend. But since it is just a half block down the street, you can dash over to put your name on the list, and then come back and get ready/relax at the house during the wait.

In the trendy South Broadway (SoBo) area, just a short walk from the house. Very large space, sometimes noisy. Decent comfort food and drinks. And games (bowling, darts, skee ball, etc). Fun and laid back. Even if you aren't a 20-something trend setter.

My all-time favorite bar, The Cruise Room, is here. Historic Art Deco bar in the historic Oxford hotel next to Union Station downtown. Great classic cocktails. This place is as it has been since Prohibition. Booth seating, relaxed, not too noisy, and you can order food.

This recreation path goes for miles east and west. Enter at Logan and Speer Blvd (a few blocks north of the house) for a nice stroll along the creek, or a vigorous run/bike ride. Will take you to the Cherry Creek Mall (to the East about 2 miles) or to Confluence Park (where the Creek and the Platter River join, downtown denver).

Easy day trip to the Continental Divide. Beautiful scenery. Stop at the summit to take a little walk in the area on the hiking trails. Very high elevation (about 11,000 feet) so be sure to bring water, and be prepared for rapidly changing weather year round. Including snow or thunderstorms at any time. Best in the morning. Severe weather tends to roll in around 3 pm in the summers.
