This Ethiopian Restaurant run by brothers is incredible! Their lamb, veggetarian dishes, etc. Walking distance from the house- but check the hours not always open early.

Union Market is the neighborhood spot! Only 4 blocks away, get your local eggs, delicious ethically raised meats, brews, Black Hand coffee. The owners are super involved and down to earth people- live music on thursdays in the summer on the killer patio, check it out, you won't regret it. I really like their Chicken Tarragon and I hear the French Dip is the bees knees.
