Although there has been a castle in Inverness since the 11th century, the present day castle is much more recent (circa 1848) after is was destroyed by the Jacobite army. Nice views but no entry.

A great place to view our local bottlenose dolphins, the most northerly pod! These guys are the biggest of their species and worth a look, (if you're lucky!)
