The biggest and best farmer's market in all of Portland (and recently ranked #1 in the nation by Bravo). You can shop, eat, listen to music, drink coffee (it's Portland, after all), and people watch to your heart's content. This market occurs every Saturday, rain or shine, all year 'round. During the winter months, fewer vendors are there. You can learn more on the Portland Farmers Market website.

Tasty n Alder, Tasty n Sons, Toro Bravo, and MEC are all part of the same restaurant group. All are wonderful. No reservations allowed, so be prepared to wait for a table, unless you get there before they open. Usually outstanding food, small plate options and easy to share.

Parks & Nature

My favorite place in Portland. Walking trails wind through towering trees, leading to various peaceful spots throughout the park. This park is home to the Japanese garden, the zoo, an arboretum, the renowned rose garden, a forestry museum and several memorials, including the Portland Holocaust Memorial. There are also tennis courts and an archery range, just in case you brought your bow! If you drive to the park, there is a charge to park your car...but this host knows a secret parking area that is free, so be sure to ask!

Another amazing urban park! This place will blow your mind, so come prepared. You can hike along the Wildwood Trail for miles and miles...70 to be exact. Visit Pittock Mansion and take in the view from up high. If you brought your mountain bike, check out the Lief Erikson trail.
