Food Scene

Currently under renovation, until March? :( We love this spot. They've changed ownership but still have the piano bar in the mornings - and the food is better. Get the shrimp & grits!

One of the few pizza joints close enough to deliver. It's not the West Village but they got real olives and decent salads.

Not close by, but our top recommendation for Po'boys (add grilled onions!). They make their own fresh chips & sweet potato fries too.

The closest cafe, it's a hidden treasure tucked in a tiny commercial strip with, among other gems, a middle eastern restaurant nearby. TOP quality (and we are coffee snobs) with real character.

Up early? Walk a few blocks to this homey spot for waffles or one of their several types of eggs benedict (crabcakes benedict? Yes). But they close at 2pm, so late sleepers will miss it.

Excellent, and a short drive (5 mins?). BBQ shrimp bao (dumplings), banh mi, etc etc. Nice atmosphere, full bar, front patio, easy to get to. So worth it.
