Dambulla Cave temples are still a place of worship. As such, conservative dress is essential ie arms and leg need to be covered.

Kandy is Sri Lanka's second largest city. It is congested, very busy and full of activity. A great example of a colonial city and reminiscent of older European cities for the architecture and city layout. It is heaving with activity and you will find all that you need here. Kandy is also the home of the most sacred relic to the Buddhists which is housed in the Temple of the Tooth which was once part of the Royal Palatial complex.
