In 1864, what is now a 5,200 sq ft manor served as the barracks of the doomed Hunley submarine crew, which during the Civil War became the first attack submarine to sink an enemy ship.

The Hunley Conservation Lab is home to the historic sub as it undergoes conservation to later be housed in it's own museum. Tours are offered to view the sub and various artifacts discovered within.

It is one of America’s oldest working plantations, still producing crops. Their fresh fruits and vegetables, along with other locally produced items, can be purchased across Hwy 17 at Boone Hall Farms Market.

This park contains 2200 feet of boardwalk over the marsh and out to Shem Creek. The historic creek is lined with restaurants & bars overlooking a fleet of shrimp boats.
