Parks & Nature
Navarre Beach has a public beach just beyond the main road in, but also has many options. The east end of the beach has a state park with pavilions for events, and a more quiet atmosphere than the main beach. Driving west along Navarre Beach you will find parking areas for other beach access. These beaches have no restrooms, but they are much less crowded than the main public area. If you continue to drive west, you will arrive at the National Seashore. This area is closed to commercial development and has several parking areas and pavilions. The larger ones have entry fees, but the others are free.

Fort Pickens has a beach, hiking, biking, camping, tours of the historic fort and more. It's a great place to spend the day, enjoy the beach, hike a trail and learn about the fort's history.

Pensacola beach has many more shops, restaurants and bars than Navarre Beach. If you are looking for more action, Pensacola Beach is the way to go. There is a $1 toll to access the beach from the Gulf Breeze side. To enter from the Navarre Beach side is free.

There is a Publix in Gulf Breeze, adjacent to Lowes and Wal Mart, approximately 6-7 miles from our house. There is another Publix to the east, in Navarre, which is approximately the same distance.

New York Style pizza and much more on the menu. It's casual, friendly and local. Sal's has better prices and more authentic flavor than their competitors. Try the stromboli!

Juana's is a set of waterfront tiki huts on the sound between the mainland and Navarre Beach. They have a variety of seafood dishes and American fare. If you're a visitor to Florida, this is a fun and relaxing place to go. My favorite menu item is the pagoda fish sandwich. The sunset views are beautiful here. Juana's also has a bakery, souvenir shop and bar area with live music. Outdoors there are several volleyball courts, and you can rent watercraft and toys from kayaks to jetskis and more.

East River Smokehouse has great barbecue, an extensive menu, and outdoor seating overlooking the Santa Rosa Sound. The rustic style is a bit different from the usual ocean themed restaurants. We think you will enjoy it.

Having lived in Europe for several years, I can confidently say this is by far the best, most authentic Italian cuisine within driving distance of our home. We absolutely love Bella Luna. They have a variety of Italian dishes and wines. The chef is wonderful and the staff is friendly and provide excellent service.

Johnny Huston's is a popular place for watching sports and eating good food. Their burgers are very popular, but they also have flatbreads, chicken wings, fish and shrimp tacos and more. There is indoor and outdoor seating, and plenty of big screen TVs for every sport.
