Arts & Culture

I really like it here, it's pretty low-key but has recreations of how old Welsh houses used to be etc, and the staff are supremely friendly and informative.

Parks & Nature

This is a stunning mountain, and only 15 or so minutes from here by car. There are several routes you can take up it, but all are gorgeous: Woodlands, waterfalls, a big glacial lake, vistas over the Mawddach estuary and a lot of Snowdonia National Park.

This is a beautiful woodland with some very picturesque waterfalls. There is a steam train which runs through the area and is a different way to enjoy the scenery on a lazy day. There's a cafe by the car park so you can get a tea when you're tired.

A lovely seaside town on the Dyfi estuary. Sandy beaches as far as the eye can see and plenty of places to get your ice cream. If you prefer a quieter beach, head out of town to the cemetery beach.

Ynyslas beach has dunes, the remains of a petrified forest (at low tide), views, and sand. I love it here.

This is a gorgeous village shop and cafe. A hub of a friendly small village, this is a grea place to hang our every day except Sundays and is a lovely walk away from here (or short drive.) The shop sells essentials, some groceries, books, postcards, gifts, all sorts.

Everything Else

A great place to learn about living a low-impact lifestyle. Some people consider the centre to be a bit dated, but it is still doing amazing work around policy and education. It also has a great shop and a vegetarian cafe.

Drinks & Nightlife

Village tafern, a lovely hour's walk away from here. Locally brewed beers and ciders and homemade food, combined with a brilliant atmosphere make this a firm favourite. Often has live music events, pub quizzes, etc.
