Baker also enjoys the unofficially highest average annual snowfall of any resort in the world, with 641 inches (53.4 ft; 16.3 m). It's also a beautiful destination for summer hiking.

In 2014, Whatcom County acquired 8,000 acres of beautiful park land. Work is underway to expand on the existing trail system at Lake Whatcom Park.
