Food Scene - within walking distance

Nashville has a fantastic food scene. Many restaurants are walkable from the cottage.
You'll be happy with any menu item, but the Lily is our favorite. Walk to this location - our neighborhood one - versus waiting for hours (yes it can be hours!) at the original storefront location in the Gulch. The food is the same but the lines are shorter and you can waddle back to the cottage, stroll through Hillsboro Village for shopping or head downtown. : )

Old name, but now the second generation runs the business. The original location was across the street but the building was sold to make way for the ever growing Belmont Univeristy. For those from Europe or who want a taste of Europe, this is for you! This is a bakery, not a cafe, so come prepared to make your purchase and head out of the store to eat your goodies! The coffee is good, too. If you walk here, it will be a good 30 minutes and you will wind through a couple of tree-filled neighborhoods. Located next to the Xfinity Store. If you want a cafe experience, the location in Green Hills works. It's hard to find, so keeping walking/driving to the back of the building on the left.

Neighborhood

From (https://www.thrillist.com/travel/nashville/where-to-stay-in-nashville) Tucked between two universities, Vanderbilt and Belmont, this primarily residential enclave grew up around the old streetcar line that spoked out from downtown in the first half of the 20th century. The Hillsboro Village strip of shops and restaurants has seen many changes through the years, but it still exhibits much of the character of the past along with a few more modern and flashier restaurants and boutiques. For an inexpensive and quick ride downtown, hop the No. 7 bus for just $2. Nashville’s public transit doesn’t run very late at night, so you might need to arrange alternate transportation home. The campuses at Belmont and Vandy are both excellent locales for a stroll through the green spaces and attractive academic buildings. Known worldwide for its excellent music business program, Belmont features a small gallery of iconic guitars, appropriately named The GIG, and Vanderbilt’s Sarratt Student Center houses a small art gallery with rotating exhibits. The main strip through Hillsboro Village offers fun shopping at stores like Hey Rooster General Store, Posh, Tribe Kelley, and A Thousand Faces.
