Food Scene

The food is not that great, but you can't beat the view as you sit near the inlet from the Atlantic Ocean, Peanut Island with the Port of Palm Beach behind it, and the Blue Heron Bridge to the north. Nice for an outdoor drink or coffee.

Take out market. Carmine has several restaurants in the area-all successful. But my favorite is his market on PGA Boulevard. Fabulous take away dinner deals. Dinner for two $17.95. Go toward the back of the market and look at the signs. Make up your mind before ordering as this is a busy place.

I can't speak for the food, but this is right over our bridge and you'll run into it. Nice if you don't want to go far.

Love a loaded chicken sandwich and a side of sliced carrots. Great mashed potatoes with a little horsey sauce. Smoked penne pasta is also a favorite.

Breakfast at The Circle Room at the Breakers five star resort on the ocean in Palm Beach-yes! They have a beautiful daily breakfast buffet that was about 30$ per person last I checked. Be sure not to confuse it with the Sunday brunch as that price is much higher. Anyway, after breakfast, stroll the five star hotel lobby and outdoor areas. You won't be disappointed.

Super fresh fish market and restaurant. I like lunch for a bowl of chowder or the fish special. If you are cooking a fish stew or chowder at home, check out their mixed fish chunks in the market area. The price is very reasonable for chunks of the best selection.

This is truly a hole-in-the-wall with a mix of blue collar and local upper crust. A burger joint with a cold beer. Not my speed, but close to the house and good for late night emergency. Can be very busy at dinner hour.

Drinks & Nightlife

This is half restaurant but does a whopping bar business too. It's a small plates idea. I love the burger and fries, I admit, but the other dishes are very good too. If you like to do people watching in an upscale environment like Palm Beach. This is a lot of fun. The high top tables at the open kitchen let you get a good glimpse of all the food coming out.

Because you can take your dog for free on the ferry, 10 blocks south, and walk/swim 1.2 miles around the island. You can also rent snorkel gear on the ferry boat. You can see Kennedy's famous emergency bunker and most of all if you catch the first ferry of the morning, you can take your coffee and walk out onto the dock and commune with nature while staring straight through the inlet to the Atlantic Ocean.

You can do a shore scuba dive or snorkel to the artificial reef that's 800 feet long of Anastasia Rock. This is a top rated dive site. You can catch a glimpse of rare sea creatures, like the Atlantic Longarm Octopus. Snorkel gear rental on site.

West Palm Beach Green Market

Clematis and Flagler area. In season, October to maybe May. Very lovely.
I have walked on Worth Avenue for decades and I still find its old world charm soothing. It stretches from the Intracoastal Waterway to the Atlantic Ocean. Window shop and stroll the Vias. Stop for a coffee or a bite to eat. My dinner pick is Renato's outside in the courtyard. If you are doing something celebratory and over-the-top, Cafe L'Europe.
