Ever since the siblings Barbara and Andreas Böhm, supported by the architect duo Eichinger/Knechtl, started to breathe new life into Emperor Franz Josef´s former Palm Three in 1998, turning the 1901-built steel construction, which for decades was in some sort of Sleeping Beauty-like slumber, into a restaurant which successfully combines the sophistication of a café-bar and the relaxed atmosphere of a brasserie, the Palmenhaus attracts an ever growing number of guests. When the weather is fine, guests can now sit on the Palmenhaus´s outside terrace overlooking the beautiful Burggarten gardens and enjoy the finest culinary delights from breakfast through lunch to dinner. But the 15-metre high conservatory-style restaurant with its numerous exotic plants also provides a cosy retreat in winter: the cocktail bar with its comfortable leather sofas is the perfect place for an intimate têete-a-têete, and the restaurant with its red leather banquettes and its Parisian brasserie-style atmosphere provides an ideal setting for both business meetings and quiet contemplation. From mid-November the Christmas menu tempts with innovative specialities like pan-fried goat cheese with fig, marinated tuna with sweet-sour beetroot, ginger and passion fruit, pouches filled with mushrooms and chestnut in spinach sauce, goose breast with potato noodles tossed in poppy seeds, and Panna Cotta cookies. From March to October the Palmenhaus restaurant is open from Monday to Sunday from 10 to 2 am. From November to February Wednesday to Thursday from 11:30 to 12:00 am; Fridays from 11:30 to 2am; Saturdays from 10:00 to 2 am; Sundays and official holidays from 10:00 to 12:00 am. Reservations are already being taken for New Year´s Eve Dinner which features a menu of contemporary cuisine, including a vegetarian option.

In 2007 the doors of this coffee house jewel along Vienna’s Wienzeile-Street re-opened. After careful remodeling by Conran & Partners, Cafe Drechsler now presents itself as a café in 21st century style. As such it continues the tradition that began with Engelbert Drechsler’s family in 1919 – to be a traditional meeting place for guests who appreciate typical coffee house specialties, classical Viennese coffee house cuisine with seasonal accents, and a relaxed atmosphere day or night. The Cafe Drechsler is disability-friendly. As Cafe Drechsler is a typical coffee house, we regret that we cannot accept table reservations on weekends. Here you will find hot food & breakfast, Austrian & international newspapers and magazines, and WLAN and a large smoking area. As the founder of Cafe Drechsler already practiced „coffee to go“ to supply the vendors at the famous Naschmarkt across the street with coffee, you too can, of course, also order our coffee specialties to go.

The name reflects, once again, our philosophy in that it is the essential part of our lives. Eating is always done at a large table with the whole family and many friends. And it is exactly on this principle that we have built NENI. All family members contribute their talents to the company and are in continuous communication with one another. NENI is our passion paired with openness and love for food.

Drinks & Nightlife

Great view, great atmosphere. "The Dachboden" of the 25 hours hotel is a mixture of beach bar and parliament cafeteria. Only no sand, or neckties. Besides different brands of soft drinks, there is always a selection of Austrian wines and of course a decent offering of beer and long drinks. The loft isn't meant for a full dining experience. Although, you can always get a piece of homemade cake or some quiches.

Sightseeing

Palace At the end of the 17th century Emperor Leopold I commissioned the gifted Baroque architect Bernhard Fischer von Erlach to built a palatial hunting lodge for the heir to the throne. On the site of the old imperial château de plaisance a splendid edifice was to arise. Half a century later under Maria Theresa Schönbrunn Palace was to become the magnificent focus of court life. From that time onwards it played host to the leading statesmen of Europe. Although Austria is now a republic, Schönbrunn has remained a place of political encounter at the highest level. The magnificent architecture and the exquisite décor of its state rooms marks Schönbrunn out as a cultural treasure and tourist attraction of the first order. Gardens The park at Schönbrunn Palace was opened to the public around 1779 and since then has provided a popular recreational area for the Viennese population and international visitors alike. Extending for 1.2 km from east to west and approximately one kilometre from north to south, it was placed together with the palace on the UNESCO list of World Heritage Sites in 1996. The palace and its grounds form a unit and reflect each other, in accordance with the Baroque notion of the princely palace, according to which architecture and Nature should interpenetrate. The Baroque layout of the gardens, together with the additions made during the last decade of Maria Theresa's life, have survived more or less intact and today still determine the characteristic appearance of the gardens at Schönbrunn. The park at Schönbrunn is administered by the Bundesgärten Wien_Innsbruck (Director: Dipl. Ing. Brigitte Mang). The Bundesgärten are responsible for the upkeep of the gardens and also run the Palm House.

Die beste Küche aber mit mehr ungezwungenen Ambiente. Abgesehen davon ist das Essen geil (ja das ist genau das was man denkt beim essen)
