Food Scene

It is so close and the food is great. Just down the hill if you are too tired to cook.

One of our favorite restaurants in San Diego. A bit pricey, but for foodies a MUST. One of Richard Blais' properties. The atmosphere is wonderful, the food to die for and the service is always excellent. We love to sit at the round tables at the bar and people watch.

Sightseeing

There is a fabulous Farmer's Market in Little Italy on Saturday from 8-2. The produce is amazing and there are food trucks galore.

Parks & Nature

We do this trail about twice a month. It's a hike. Take water and wear the proper footwear. But the views from the top are totally worth it. It can be crowded on weekend mornings. Durning the week early morning is great. If you go up at dusk, take a strong flashlight. The hike down is scary without lights.

This is a must do if you are active. Park along the beach for free if you can find a spot or inside the park itself. We like to hike up the mountain along the road and come down on the beach side. This gives the absolute best views! Check the tide-tables before you start out so you don't end up wading at the end of your hike.

After a hike up to Torrey Pines Reserves, cool off at the beach below! Nice beaches with lifeguards on duty. Free parking along the road or inside the park with a fee. Great day outing for the entire family.

Arts & Culture

Balboa park is the perfect spot for culture and architecture lovers. So much to see and do -- tons of museums, the Old Globe Theatre, the buildings, Prado for a snack, lunch or dinner. Outdoor theater. On and on and on. Just go there!
