Sightseeing

Cotehele is an amazing Medieval house in which you can imagine a family actually lived. The gardens are stunning, and Tamar views even better. Cotehele Quay and the working flour mill make a full day.

Tavistock's Pannier Market is over 900 years old. The historic walks around the town are well worth a stroll. It still retains individual, artisan shops and has quite a few excellent places to eat.

Jason sells the very best groceries, sourced wherever possible within 20 miles. The sourdough breads are totally Moorish, especially the Chees and Chilli. Keep it away from me!

Simply the best. Never have I been known to come out of a restaurant and not have something to complain about. 7 courses and not a 'dicky bird'! An absolute must for a special occasion.

King Charles II stepped over the threshold of this inn dating from 13C when is was originally a nunnery. Paul runs a great pub here with consistently good beer and wine, good food and conviviality.

This is our dear local artist, Ian Pether's home and studio. Breath-taking detailed artwork. If you are lucky he might be running his model railway in the garden. Great for holiday and Christmas gifts
