[Japanese/Donburi] 지구당(Zee-goo-dang, 地球党) A hot spot for Gyudon dishes. Gyudon is a Japanese Donburi dish with braised beef on top of white rice. Its authentic feel and taste resembling those you may find in real Japan attract tons of people, especially SNU students, every day. Gyudon is the only dish here and it only costs 6,000 KRW per dish. With additional 1,000 KRW, you can have a bigger portion(about 1.5x). Quite a long queue is expected, unless you get there just after they open. Even if you are in the queue, they close once they are out of ingredients. Note that customers are kindly requested to keep their voices down. Break time: 14:30(not sure...)-17:00 Off: Sunday

[Korean/BBQ] 새마을식당(Sae-ma-ul-sik-dang) It's a branch of the popular dining franchise owned by a popular Korean chef, Baek Jong-won, who often make Television presences these days. This restaurant is prized for its signature dish, 열탄불고기(Yol-tan Bulgogi), which is roasted thin-sliced pork, marinated in its special spicy sauce. Worth checking out to have more bits of local experiences, though easily found in other parts of the city

[Burger] Quite a decent American-style burger place. It is popular among SNU students, especially foreign exchange/visiting students. It's not uncommon to come across foreign folks at this burger place, which, at least for a western dish like burgers, kind of serves as a guarantee for its nice tastes.

[Korean/Fried Chicken] This is my favorite fried chicken place and offers an authentic fried chicken experience, not that of pseudo replicas you can find overseas (as a native Korean, I was pretty appalled to find out how the stuff sold as Korean fried chicken tastes in Hong Kong and several Chinese cities). Though Korean fried chicken comes with bones in it more often, this franchise chicken shop boasts boneless fried chicken, which I think is a more advanced version and saves the mess you would face while and after eating the ones with bones. You should definitely try one of the three signature dishes that each come with thigh, tenderloin, and a mixture of them.

[Chinese] 차이나당(China Tang 唐) This Chinese place offers a wide selection of Chinese foods at highly affordable prices. They strike quite a nice balance between Korean-style Chinese foods and the original Chinese versions, which presumably is because this restaurant is owned and operated by Chinese people. Employees here have a command of both Korean and Chinese. This place serves as a hot spot for Chinese major students at SNU.
