Food Scene

The food here does not disappoint! It's definitely my go to for a solid breakfast, great lunch, and late night dinner. The sides are the hidden gem for sure, like the crunchy fried quinoa, and the hummus. For breakfast order the fried green tomato benedict. The vibe here is super relaxed, long bar with tables, portions are large, prices are good, and it's pretty much all locals.

Tacos, tacos, tacos. And mezcal. Also super casual with a tiny back patio, this is a great spot to grab an easy bite before catching the train into the city. The bartenders are also great sources of info for cool local hangouts.

Delicious Pho and Bahn Mi. This place is also made by and for locals. Especially if it's rainy or cold outside, this place will warm you up completely.

My go-to solid coffee spot. They have all the essentials, and the quality is top notch. Great place to hang out and handle business too. I highly recommend the Coconut Latte made with coconut oil, absolutely delicious. They do cool seasonal stuff too.

Drinks & Nightlife

Absolutely no frills, locals hang out, artists haven. They always have a cool dj or movie playing in the background. Some Sundays it's karaoke and always lit.

This is the crazy, hippie Brooklyn nightclub spot. I'm relatively sure this is where Burning Man happens when they're not in California. The dancing is always amazing, and I can never get over how big and awesome this space is.

Go to bar to meet people and see weird shows. The food isn't bad either, the burger is always pleasing. Beware, the shows here are not kid friendly, and that's what I love about it. You will always see local artists and performers without any hesitation here. Bizarre is always an adventure. There's also a banging backyard during the day.

Getting Around

This is my main transit hub, the J, M, and the mysterious Z train all run through this stop, and it's often the only stop when the train runs express, it's just too damn convenient.

This is locally called "Morganville" and it's the L train stop that'll take you deeper into Bushwick or straight into Hipster Williamsburg or Touristy Union Square. I love taking the L, it's fast, easy, and the people watching is spectacular.

Essentials

Mr. Kiwi's is the best! It's where I get most of my groceries, beer, all my essentials. It's open 24 hours/day, and the people who work there are super friendly. Best part? They make fresh pressed juices, a large cup, for ONLY $4. Insane.

This is the big box store that has all the necessities for cooking for the family. The prices are good, they have a decent selection, it's no whole foods, but it's close and totally stocked.
