Sightseeing

This park follows along the Weymouth Back River parallel to Great Esker Park on the other side of the river. There are many more paved hiking trails in this park than Great Esker Park and plenty of views of the river and salt marshes. This park going north leads to Bridge Street and on the other side of the street you have the revitalized Hingham Shipyard which use to build ships for the Navy during World War 2. See more on Hingham Shipyard.
Accessible from near Jackson Square on Wharf Street. There is parking if you don't want to walk. The paved trail goes all the way to Bridge Street close to Hingham Harbor. Walking is quite up and down due to a long sand ridge covered with trees left behind by the last ice age. The park is long in length. Bring a kayak if have one for the Weymouth Back River and Whitman's Pond. There is another park called Back Cove Park (see seperate description) in Hingham across the river which gives you a sense of isolation from civilization. Very few buildings are within sight of this isolated river; very rare for 2 parks so close to Boston.

Food scene

This restaurant has great reviews. It's located at the Hingham Shipyard real close to the boardwalk along the large marina. There is also Trader Joe's and other stores there. Also there is a cinema across the main road, Bridge Street that is very close.
