Shipwreck Island Waterpark opened in the summer of 1983. The tropical theme waterpark is filled with attractions and food and beverage outlets to bring smiles to every member of your family. The twenty-acre park features lush landscaping, a professionally trained aquatics staff, and is one of the most hospitable attractions in all of North Florida. Shipwreck Island has been entertaining families for over thirty-three years on Panama City Beach. Don’t settle for a sprinkle, come make a big splash at Shipwreck Island Waterpark. See you soon! Attractions Ocean Motion Wave Pool is a 500,000-gallon pool that generates three foot waves every ten minutes. These waves contain cool, clear water without any creatures that may lurk in the ocean. White Knuckle River is a 660-foot long twisting, winding inner tube ride that features tubes large enough for the entire family to twist, turn and splash down into a watery finale. Tree Top Drop is actually two slides coming off of a 65-foot tall platform. One slide is a dark tube that drops onto a free fall slide that sends sliders down a rapid drop slide. The other choice is the Tree Top Drop enclosed twisting tube slide. The Pirate’s Plunge Racing Slide is actually dueling slides side by side from a 60-foot tall tower. Riders can challenge their own nerves or other riders. The Raging Rapids is over 300 feet of white water inner tube rafting. “The Rapids,” as they are affectionately known by so many guests, gives riders one of the best white water tubing slides you’ll find anywhere. The 50-foot splash down is a breath-taking finale. The Zoom Flume is the oldest attraction at Shipwreck Island. Three flumes curve in, out and around a huge hill, and finally come together in a big splash pool. The Great Shipwreck is a replica of a 17th century sailing ship. Guests zipline off the ship and drop into a beautiful lagoon pool. The Lazy River is over 2,000 feet of a slow moving meandering river that provides the park’s most relaxing aquatic encounter. Skull Island is a family activity pool that has a kiddy slide called Lickity Split, and a family racing slide called the Pirate’s Race. Skull Island also features a fort with a gigantic tipping bucket that unloads 700 gallons of water on awaiting guests every three or four minutes. The Tadpole Hole is a gigantic children’s activity pool that includes a frog slide, a ship slide, an elephant slide, a pelican slide and an old submarine known as “The Silly Sub.” Food and Beverage at the Park The usual broad selection of burgers, pizza, hotdogs, salads, barbeque, wraps, funnel cakes, ice cream, and frozen drinks is also available from The Galley, The Ship’s Grill, The Captain’s Dog House, Swashbuckler’s Beer Shack, Pirate’s Pizza, Dippin’ Dots, and Island Ice Cream. Prices and Hours of Operation Admission is $37.98 plus tax for persons above 50 inches tall and $29.98 plus tax for persons below 50 inches tall. Children below 35 inches tall are admitted free. The admission for seniors is $24.98 for persons 62 years and older. Lockers are available for $8.00 for a small, $10.00 for a medium, and $13.00 for the jumbo, with a $2.00 refund available when the key is returned at the end of each day. SHIPWRECK ISLAND is open the last two Saturdays in April, all Saturdays in May, and the last three Sundays of May. The waterpark begins the daily operating schedule on Saturday, May 25 through Saturday, August 10. The waterpark will be closed to the public on Sunday, August 11 for the annual Trane company picnic. We are then open the next two Saturdays and Sundays in August, followed by Saturday, Sunday, and Monday of Labor Day Weekend.

St. Andrews State Park is consistently one of the most popular and most visited state parks in Florida -- Given that Dr. Beach has also called it the Best Beach in America, it's no wonder! St. Andrews State Park is situated on a peninsula at the far eastern edge of Panama City Beach. Bordered by the Gulf of Mexico to the south, the St. Andrews Pass to the east, and the Grand Lagoon to the north, you're never far from a relaxing sea breeze, or a chance to get a little sand between your toes while exploring the shoreline here. You can also get off road and explore by trail, where you'll see an amazing variety of wildlife, from migratory birds to deer or even alligators! Fishing is popular here as well, and anglers can be found casting their lines from the Tiller Pier (which reaches out into the Gulf of Mexico), the fishing pier on the Grand Lagoon, and fishing from the jetties or the deep water point bordering the St. Andrews Pass. You can rent a bicycle from the general store in St. Andrews State Park and explore the roads that loop through the preserve, or rent a canoe or kayak and get out on the water under your own power! For those interested in exploring Shell Island, there is a shuttle that runs from the mainland to the island regularly (call to reserve a spot, and to ensure service during the winter season). Snorkeling and scuba diving along the jetties is also a popular pastime for many, and an array of brightly colored marine life can be found not far beneath the surface. Swimming and surfing are popular on the Gulf side of the state park, while those in search of calmer waters enjoy the "kiddie pool," a large area along the pass that's protected by the jetties. There are no lifeguards present at the state park, so swimmers should always exercise caution whenever entering the water. St. Andrews State Park is great for campers, who can choose from 176 camp sites with electricity, water, picnic tables and grills (these can accommodate tents, or RVs up to 40 feet in length). There is also a "primitive" camping area for scouts, faith-based groups, and other small, non-profit organized groups. This site is equipped with water, a portable toilet, fire ring, and picnic tables. Boaters also frequent St. Andrews State Park, thanks to a public access boat ramp that can be used for a reasonable fee. For non-campers, St. Andrews State Park closes at sunset. St. Andrews State Park is located at 4607 State Park Lane, at the southeast edge of Panama City Beach. Phone: (850) 233-5140
